It seems like ages ago that we were scrutinizing the press debuts of the Spring 2011 collections, and now that the pieces are (finally) hitting stores, we get to discover them all over again. I had forgotten all about the Marc by Marc Jacobs Hayley Straw Tote since it first tickled my fancy back in September, but now we’re reunited and it feels so good.

I have a generalized rule that I won’t buy a straw bag that’s over $200 which this tote violates, but if you don’t have a similar mental block, this bag is big enough and has enough leather on both the exterior and interior to be considered a reasonable deal at around $400. With such vibrant colors and a totally fun, beachy striped lining, I’m considering breaking my own rule. People keep telling me that they’re made to be broken… Buy through Nordstrom for $398.
