Marc Jacobs Mabel Puffed Tote

Despite my wariness when it comes to the winter season and the cold that accompanies it, I love bags that emulate a good old down filled puffer. Remember when Moncler collaborated with Fendi to make those sensationally shiny ‘ski jacket’ Spy bags? That I adored and lusted after, but this cutesy Marc by Marc Jacobs Mabel Puffed Tote delivers all the style without a price that makes your eyes open wide.

And the color of the bag? Grape juice. If there’s anything I appreciate more than the color purple, it’s a clever sense of fun infused into the spirit of a bag. And while I probably wouldn’t hand this to a kindergardener to tote as a fashionable lunch box, the happy childishness comes through in this bag in acceptable tiny amounts.

It’s by no means a teenybopper tote, let me make that clear. I compared it to Fendi, not Juicy Couture, didn’t I? The inherent youthfulness and cumulous cloud shape can be easily incorporated into a sophisticated winter or spring outfit, and be brave and pair it with your favorite colorful puffer. Or tote it, of course, if it is actually snowing. Buy through Bergdorf Goodman for $258.
