There is no doubt that I buy most of my clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories because I like how they look and because they fit me well. But, it is always a breath of fresh air when I find a designer who is not only an up and comer, but also prides him or herself on always keeping in mind *who* they are designing for. So, when I did a little reading on Loeffler Randall (head designer, Jessie Randall), I became instantly impressed. Not only did Loeffler Randall recieved the 2007 CFDA Swarovski award for emerging talent but also has become recognized for giving women functional and feminine shoes and handbags. Although the footwear label started in 2004, handbags were just introduced in 2006. Sure, it’s only been about 2 years, but I already respect Randall’s line.
The Loeffler Randall Calfskin Tote is gorgeous. I don’t know about you, but I love when I can look at an image of a bag or piece of clothing and visually “feel” the texture of the material. As I look at this bag, I can feel the soft calfskin. No, I haven’t had the opportunity to see it in person, but the bag truly looks soft and touchable. The leather handles promise support without the worry of too much upfront wear and tear. (I hate handles that look like they are going to break at any minute.) Once you look inside the bag, you will see a metallic textile lining which just adds to the beauty of the bag. As this bag does have give, I like that there is a flat leather base and protective metal feet. Now, the only thing that made me go, hmmmmm, was when I tried to envision what the bag might look like in use. Thank goodness for “alternate view” options when doing online shopping! Although I don’t like the outfit on the model, you get the idea. Personally, I like it… I like it a lot! Buy through eLUXURY for $685.
