Khirma Eliazov Scalloped Clutch

I’m in kind of a clutch mood lately. I’m not sure why that is – spring is on its way, and I find myself using casual totes and shoulder clutches a lot more often during the summer than a traditional handheld like the Khirma Eliazov Scalloped Clutch. That doesn’t mean I don’t love it, however – I definitely do.

It’s sculptural, exotic, slightly retro, and still totally neutral despite featuring two colors. It’s not quite all things to all people, but nothing in fashion ever should be. It is stylish and affordable, however, which is nearly as universal.

Stingray is one of fashion’s most underused and affordable exotics, and the only thing that I would change about this clutch is the finish of the stingray panels. The material looks so lush and interesting when it’s given a little shine that I wish they had done a metallic black or dark gunmetal instead of the matte finish that they chose, but that’s a relatively small quibble in the context of such a nice bag.

I’m not sure why they’re releasing this bag at this time of year – the red leather accents against the black stingray create a color and texture combination that would be used to its greatest effect during cold weather. There are still a few weeks to use it, however – or you could just get it now and squirrel it away for six months until things start to cool off again. Buy through ShopBop for $615.
