My search for the perfect minibag – it continues. At this point, it might continue forever. My desire for a tiny bag is turning into a struggle of Sisyphean proportions – I keep finding bags I think I really like, and then when I find some sort of flaw, they go tumbling back down the proverbial hill and I have to march back to the bottom and start anew.

At the moment, I’m sitting at the top of the mountain with the Kate Spade Villa Bridget Minibag. It’s small and light colored, plus the hardware is great. The only thing that’s holding me back is the chain strap – are those really a good idea during warm weather?

I don’t currently own any chain-strap bags that I use for extended periods of time, but I’ve heard a lot of people complain about the indentations that they leave on naked shoulders during tank top season. Since this little bag looks most appropriate for use during warm weather, I can only guess that it would cause the same problem.

Perhaps the tiny size of the bag would offset some of that problem, however – after all, how heavy could it be, even when filled? The lighter the bag, the less you have to worry about it digging into your skin, and possibly the reasonable price and classic design would be enough to overlook a few temporary spots on your shoulder. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $275.

Cute, but I think the Michael Kors one is better. What was the flaw with that one?! I think it’s adorable and am planning on hunting one down as soon as I get my next pay cheque!

The bag is so tiny I don’t think you can really fit anything too heavy in it. I really like it, the lock is cute.

It is very cute, but very very small. I agree with Caroline London. The Michael Kors Charlton you reviewed a few days ago was gorgeous.
I am debating between the emerald and magenta. I see now that there is also white, yellow and pale blue available on other site stores.
What changed your mind on that bag ?

It’s just a little too traditional for my personal style, I think. I’m not sure. I have to see it in person.

I really like this bag. It’s pretty tiny so definitely not an every day bag but not supposed to be so OK. Perfect for a Napa day trip :) I love the chain strap – trying to keep the Chanel look going! (fb)
