This is just freakin’ adorable. I love it. The Felix Rey Manon Clutch is a great mix of ideas that would fit in perfectly with my personal style. It’s girly – just look at all those frills around the edges! It reminds me of a flamenco dancer! Plus it’s so petite and feminine! But it’s also has an edge – layer upon layer of matte, thick, soft black leather gives it a slightly tough, slightly punk look, I think. If the leather had been patent, or if it had been silk of the same color, then it would be different, but the material they chose is almost biker-y in its look. The dichotomy of styles that this bag has going for it is my absolute favorite mix of ideas in a bag.

Felix Rey Manon Clutch

Girly clutches are easy to find and a dime a dozen, and it’s also easy to find a tough-looking bag, but a lot of them don’t look particularly high end. Finding a way to combine the two takes some thought, and Felix Rey obviously took his time with this bag. And now for the particulars – at 11 inches long, it’s the perfect size to fit all my stuff (I usually look for my clutches to be between 10 and 13 inches), and it has a cute little gold chain strap that’s probably long enough to put over your shoulder, but hides inside if you don’t want to use it. Perfect! Buy through ShopBop for $450.

Just an FYI – Felix Rey is designed by 2 women. The name of their company comes from the doctor who treated Van Gogh after he cut off his ear.

I saw it on a website and they showed the chain handle, which was really cute. The leather looks very soft, and the ruffles really set it apart. I like it.
