In an industry dominated by animal skins, leather and exotic, it’s refreshing to see designers dedicated to an animal-friendly ethic. One of these brands is Big Buddha, a vegan brand based in California and producing some really, really cute handbags at prices that are quite low.

Due to my obsession with travel bags, I honed in on the simple, textured Big Buddha Tiny Dancer Satchel. It’s vegan leather, which alone is very interesting- I’d like to see the bag in person to feel what the leather is like. It seems quite soft in the stock photos. No matter the feel, this satchel is quite perfect for travel.

Not only that, but the large size doesn’t mean that it’s bulky. In fact, the bag lives up to it’s name of ‘tiny dancer’: despite it’s size, it looks rather feminine and light in the arms of the model. Plus, the little straps on the side combined with scrunchy pleats complete a delicate finish that’s so hard to get right in big satchels. Buy through Piperlime for $90.

What exactly does “vegan leather” mean? Is it actually “real” leather? Or is it fake leather…in which case, isn’t that “pleather”? I’m confused…

  • JennyO

It’s a fancy name for pleather.

I like it I am sorry when I am traveling sometimes I don’t want to spend the extra just in case it gets damaged. So to me this bag is perfect. I have been living out of my travel bags and I despise them so much right now. I think its time for a change and this might be the one I buy.
