There’s nothing to dislike about the Yves Saint Laurent Printed Calf Hair Clutch and I won’t let you or anyone else tell me otherwise! (more…)
I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m craving winter so badly. Yesterday I wore jeggings (don’t judge me) to the mall in silent protest of the 95-degree temperatures we’ve been having since…May. It’s been a long summer.
I live in Atlanta, so I have about six more weeks of genuinely warm weather before I even get to think about breaking out any kind of long-sleeve options for daytime wear (and even then, that’s only if I’m lucky), but the sight of the Yves Saint Laurent Studded Suede Roady has me wanting winter even more. A couple readers have emailed me to ask about this YSL bag. While it is very easy to immediately see that this is a Yves Saint Laurent bag, I had a hard time finding more information on this bag. Like the season it is from, are there more being produced, and why it is so utterly-absolutely-fabulous?!
The YSL logo produced by buckles is so ultra-chic I am having a hard time getting this image out of my own head. Clearly the dude carrying this bag (most likely photographed outside of some fashion week show) knows a sporty cool style when he sees one. Now this bag is the envy our our readers and myself. I am so happy to see such an edgy sleek design from YSL and happy to know additional dimensionality can be given without putting chains under the leather to create an unsettling worm-like effect.
So take a look at the Yves Saint Laurent Buckle Bag and not only tell us what you think but also tell us if you know any additional info. (more…)
Do you have a bucket list? I never technically sat down to write what I want to do before I die, but I have an ever-growing list of things I would like to do in my life-time (ok, does that make it a bucket list?!). On the list is visit a jungle and go on the zip line through the jungle. If any of you have done it, please do tell me about it in the comments!
Having jungle themed items in no means satiates my wanting to visit the jungle, but I will take leopard print fashion and sexy green shoes any time. My Want It Wednesday this week focuses on Yves Saint Laurent; more specifically a Roady Hobo, Tribute Sandals, and Zig-Zag necklace. (more…)
Yes, you all know the love I have for clutches. Frankly, I cannot have enough clutches in my collection. They all just seem to serve such an amazing purpose. While I love my clutches, with the warm Spring and Summer months upon us, I began to wonder: do most people put away their dark colored clutches and opt for brightly colored ones – OR – are the darker clutches used all year long, no matter what?
Something to ponder, huh?
Well, no matter what side of the handbag fence you are on here, there is no denying how gorgeous this brightly colored Yves Saint Laurent Y Clutch is. And if I had several clutches colored like this, there is a good chance I’d put my darker colored clutches away until the Fall and Winter. (more…)
Yesterday, Yves Saint Laurent relaunched YSL.com with a fresh assortment of iconic YSL products that are exclusive to their online store. Many of the products are never-before-seen in boutiques, but we have the inside scoop on some of the items hitting the site.
Yves Saint Laurent have perfected many techniques, one being embossed sueded crocodile fabrications. I have been a long time fan of this process, as YSL has found a way to make it look luxurious and authentic, without being forced. (more…)
When you’re a fan of designer handbags, it’s best to come up with some personal price boundaries to avoid getting carried away. It’s easy to become desensitized when the most highly sought-after bag in the world costs in the high four figures, but not every bag is worth what the manufacturer might want us to pay. The Yves Saint Laurent Large Shopping Tote has positioned itself in an interesting spot, however – the price just might be low enough to pique my interest for such an attractive bag, even though it’s not made entirely of leather. It is time for the 6th edition of the YSL Manifesto, which will be hitting the streets of NYC today! The worldwide release will be Saturday, February 20th, in the streets of Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and for the first time, Berlin.
This Manifesto was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin under the creative direction of Stefano Pilati. The manifesto will showcase Natalia Vodianova in the Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2010 collection. (more…)
Ladies and gents, I need you to weigh in here. I cannot decide whether or not this Yves Saint Laurent handbag is genius or simply not enough for what you are paying for.
Yves Saint Laurent is one of those brands, one of those brands that is almost always worth a second look. This is the case because the first look might take you in the wrong direction, but the second look, the second look could reveal sheer genius. While I want that to be the case here, I just don’t think that is the case. (more…)
The biggest release from YSL in the past few years was the Roady, which launched last September. The Roady is an utterly simple design that brings in an added touch which bumps up the aesthetic. I know many of you did not like just how simple the original Roady was, so this post will bring you nothing more than the first. But if you loved the Roady and you love having a spring bag in your collection, the Yves Saint Laurent Linen Roady may be for you. (more…)
Ahh, the eternal handbag questions: how much should we, as consumers, be willing to pay for bags that aren’t made out of leather? How about one made out of canvas? How about a really SIMPLE bag made out of canvas? Should it vary by brand? If it does, does that mean we’ve all fallen victim to someone’s marketing scheme? For me, the Yves Saint Laurent Safety Pins Tote brings up all of those questions and more.
For what it is, I quite like this bag. But is the bag that it is worthy of the price that Yves Saint Laurent is asking? I suppose that depends on who you are and how much extra money is sitting in your bank account. (more…)
I’m normally something of a YSL fangirl, but despite the brand’s history of sleek, classic bags, even they make a misstep every once in a while. It’s a forgivable thing to do, for sure, but that has never stopped me from calling a spade a spade, so to speak.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Yves Saint Laurent Shopping Tote is a spade. Which is to say, of course, that it’s a misstep, as are all the bags with this weird raised logo thing that YSL insists on doing. I don’t like it and no one shall convince me otherwise. Probably because it reminds me of something… (more…)
