Our fabulous intern Anna had the chance to meet with Tory Burch last month for an intimate preview and discussion with Tory herself. While Vlad and I could not make the event, Tory Burch sent us some of her favorite bags from her new collection to review. Let me start off by saying that the bags we received were not some of the Tory Burch logo bags I have come to expect. Beyond pleasantly surprised when I opened the box, I found a new appreciation and love for Tory Burch bags.

Each of the three bags we were sent I can easily see myself wearing. While Tory Burch has become known for her signature emblem, it is not my favorite to see on a bag. But Tory has expanded her line and though you can still see that these bags are from Tory Burch, they are not over-logofied.

The Tory Burch Ambroise Hobo is one of a select few canvas bags I could picture myself buying in quite some time. Canvas seems like a simple material to work with, but the problem with canvas for me is that it shows wear and dirt so incredibly easily. The colors on this hobo will not show dirt as quickly and the mirrored appliques are the perfect touch along with the leather trim. The only way to note that this bag is Tory Burch is from the attachment T at the end of the shoulder strap. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $495.

This is my favorite of the three! The Tory Burch Tiled Teardrop Clutch is adorned with metal tile detail. It is an entirely different concept from most clutches out there, and I adore it! The tiles are attached on top of glazed leather. If you saw the review Amanda did on this clutch, you will see the version at Bloomindale’s is different from the version we had to review. Ours had a flap over top with the classic Tory Burch emblem. I loved how it was set up, it broke up the tiles and changed the clutch a bit. But the perk of the version on Bloomingdale’s is there is no signature logo on the bag. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $375.

The combination of ivory python print with contrast leather trim is clean and beautiful on the Tory Burch Matthias Clutch. The perfect amount of gold hardware mixes with the snake textured leather. I do love exotic skins, but sometimes a well-done print is not only more affordable but it is also sturdier. This was one of those bags you had to look closely at to see that it was printed python, not real python skin. That is the mark of a good print. There is a magnetic flap closure, khaki linen lining, and a zipper pocket.

Wearable in the summer, wearable in the fall, wearable in the winter, and wearable in the spring. For light pink colors I typically retire the bag for the fall and some of winter, but this color is again, ‘perfect’.

The Campana shape is a favorite of many Bottega Veneta lovers on the Purse Forum. The Veneta is a classic shape from BV, but the Campana adds a slight twist that I adore. There are double top handles and a magnetic enclosure on top which makes no hassle opening and closing of the bag. I always worry about shoulder bags being too snug on me, but this bag slid on my arm perfectly.

Most importantly, this bag is a staple piece to any collection. Shape and color is perfect, leather is divine, and overall product has me dreaming of the bag still. The Nancy Gonzalez Green Croc Tote accompanied us down South to Key West two weeks ago. Braided, spacious, exotic luxury, all new for Fall 2009. This bag was one of our favorites from an assortment sent to us to review from Nancy Gonzalez. The braided handles really added a nice touch along with the rouched crocodile body. The inside of the bag is lined with light green suede and features many usable pockets. Another perk is the weight of the bag, which will not weigh you down and is light and almost airy compared to many other bags I own. This bag will be $3300. I feel like we have let you all down. You see, I have known the beauty and edginess of CC Skye for quite some time. CC Skye, the young and brilliant designer, has become known for her trendy handbags being spotted on celebrities and her bangles which are the perfect arm candy. And while we will be bringing you many more bags from CC Skye (and a fun giveaway for the next post, stay tuned next week), today I bring you my CC Skye obsession. This is another handbag that we had the pleasure of reviewing, and this bag was the talk of our office. Shannon and I literally fought over it and both of us did not want to send it back. The leather was super smooshy, super plush, super amazing. It was the kind of soft that you dream of, like silky smooth. And what I loved the absolute most was the shoulder straps. Not super tight, but offering the perfect amount of space for comfort, and light-weight. The cool-factor is the knot at the end of each handle. And then there are the gold plates which define CC Skye bags, showing in the center and bottom corners of the bag. There isn’t much else for me to proclaim about this bag, just my love for and of it. Salvatore Ferragamo may be known for shoes, but the new line of handbags has me swooning. Not just a little bit of love, but there is a heavy amount of lust, or yearning, of floating on cloud 9. Part of the problem that many of us face with Ferragamo handbags is that we do not see the full line, the entire array. If only there were the entire collection available at Saks or Neiman Marcus, I know the sales online would sky rocket.

The Ferragamo office in NYC decided to tempt Purse Blog in a way that is just wrong, sending us the Salvatore Ferragamo Oversized Carlotta Alligator Tote to review.

This handbag is a dream bag, a bag that I only could find in my dreams. Because the price makes it way out of my league and the dreamy alligator skin on such a large bag puts me into my dream of driving to our Hamptons home in our Morgan Aero 8. So without the Hamptons home, the Morgan 8, and the bag, I am left in reality. But I’d rather dream. This bag is a piece of art. But not just art, wearable art. That is the beauty of this handbag. It is not just a collector’s item, or an expensive item, or an art piece, it is functional. And I yearn for it.

So I said expensive, right? And I meant expensive. It is time to let you down a bit (and by a bit I mean a whole lot). The Salvatore Ferragamo Carlotta Tote will set you back $35,000. No, I did not get the comma wrong nor did I add an extra zero. But the price is to be expected. This is a HUGE bag. By oversized they truly mean oversized. And this is why I continued to say that this handbag is the perfect weekend getaway travel companion. The bag that you throw your Hermes scarves and resort items into and jet off for the weekend (in the Morgan 8 if I could!).

But the beauty of the bag speaks for itself. The shape can be seen from clutches to oversized totes from Ferragamo this season. The luscious silver alligator is super soft and smooshy, not highly structured or stiff at all. Vlad and I opened the box and stared. Stared at this bag as if we had hit the lotto jack pot. Really? A bag of this caliber was sitting in our house looking us in the eye, begging us to try it on, put it over my shoulder, and throw it in the car. I did all but throwing it in the car. But I wore this bag around the house. It could be an everyday bag, but this is truly more of a weekend getaway bag. I can only imagine pulling up to a resort or my second home as all the onlookers gawked and stared. Yes, they would, and again, I need to pinch myself because this just a dream.

Vlad loved photographing this bag. Everything about the details will not let you down, but then again, what else would you expect from Ferragamo? Ferragamo is known for the most perfectly fitting shoes (I only have one pair, but I ADORE them!). And now, Ferragamo is on my map for handbags. I have a new go to designer for luscious exotic handbags. She is not a huge secret, but she has been my little secret for the past few weeks. Her designs are elegant and simple, her bags speak for themselves, and the prices not as nerve wracking as many exotic handbags. Oh yea, and she is a beautiful designer who lives down the street from Vlad and I. And one last reason we adore her is that she went to a Big 10 school, and that means we are part of a comradery, just not on game day.

This is Adriana Castro that I am speaking of, the Colombian born designer who grew up spending much of her time exploring the pools and lagoons of her father’s crocodile farm, the zoocriadero. It is no wonder that she got involved in the exotic handbag world. Her designs have lured me in since I first spotted her exotic wallets (still at Lux Couture for a VERY amazing $450). It was her Adriana Castro Wallet that caught my attention, showing off the details of the skin with bright bold colors, on a wallet that can double over as a clutch.

As I ventured further into the world of Adriana Castro, I realized there was so much more she had to offer. Adriana recently sent us the Adriana Castro Vibora Clutch to review, which was an instant hit in our office. This clutch is made of Caiman fuscus crocodile leather and is available in gold (shown), black, dark brown, orange, and silver. The gold has this slight gleam, a tinge of metallic, but not an overpowering gold color. This clutch is structured, which does not allow the top to open and make the inside of the body stretch much. But sometimes that is just what you are looking for, a bag that holds its shape and does not wiggle around much. The hidden magnetic closure on the flap is what brings the entire design together. It stands out, shows off the exotic skin, but flows perfectly. The inside is lined with suede and has an open pocket. Measurements are 5”H x 12”W x 1 ½”D. Linea Pelle is a brand that we have not covered much but deserves the recognition. Vlad and I had the pleasure of meeting with Andrew Cotton, the VP/Design Director of Linea Pelle, a few months ago in New York City. Andrew shares a love of handbags with me along with a dislike of pictures of himself that are not flattering (we bonded over this, because sometimes the camera dislikes me).

The brand had been on my radar for quite some time, but after meeting with Andrew we struck up a relationship and Vlad and I have been closely reviewing some of the latest and greatest bags from Linea Pelle. The much anticipated Linea Pelle Dylan Croco Shoulder Bag should be placed on your must buy list, right now. This is the bag that we recently reviewed; in Cognac (brown), Yellow, Topaz (orange), Emerald (green), Viola (purple) and Turquoise.

Ask me to choose which color I adore most and I will be at a loss. The yellow would easily work for fall, transition beautifully into Spring, and then be great for summer. The other colors are just as amazing. And while the color debacle has me stumped, the leather and overall look of the bag has me sold. To be quite frank, I was shocked at the leather being so supple, so touchable. The bag fit so beautifully under my shoulder, was light weight, and not too snug. And if you need to seal the deal anymore, talk to my mother. My mom, who does not always jump for joy when she sees a handbag, was OBSESSED with the Linea Pelle Dylan Croco Shoulder Bag. She was at my house when I received the box, and after cutting it open, she sat next to it like a kid under a Christmas tree. She had a bag on each shoulder, looked and me and reminded me of her upcoming birthday. She had a problem too, it was which color to choose. I feel her pain.

The practicality and usability of these bags are astounding. Like I said before, the washed Italian lambskin is super soft and luxurious. Because of this the croco embossing does not look fake or forced, it flows together ideally. The leather has a rich texture that is stunning! The hardware is sold brass and there are two usable font zipper pockets. Inside there is also a zipper pocket and funky zebra printed silk lining. We put the bags together for a lineup that made me never want to part with the bags. The rainbow of colors, the soft leather, the perfect fit, all have my heart.

The new kid on the handbag block is fitting in perfectly, being highly sought after and not as widely available in the US as we (by that I mostly mean me) would like. Gerard Darel Bags are not new by any means, but their popularity in the US is blowing up. On my last trip to Spain, I was on a hunt for a Gerard Darel Bag. I left empty handed. But my yearning for this brand has not ceased and after getting a shipment of Gerard Darel Bags to review, I am hooked.

Now I must let you all know that our shipment was mostly leather bags, but there was a metallic python beauty that was included that outshines the rest. Once I set my eyes and hands on the Gerard Darel 24h Utah Python Bag, designed with a slight metallic gold python, my need for a Gerard Darel bag became insatiable. The style of the 24 Hour Utah Python bag is very casual but perfect for a casual lifestyle. The 24 hour style is not the largest, there is also a 36 hour, which would most likely fit me better (also a 48 hour but this might be too large). To be honest, I can not place my finger on what it is that I love about this bag so much. It was the over all feel, the finished product, the way it looked on me. And again, brutally honest, but the plain leather looked quite drab on me after I tried on the python. This python, as you can see in the enlarged pictures, had only a slight metallic shine. It would not gleam on its own, but in the right light, a shimmer of gold would catch the light. The python on this handbag is fabulous, the scales do not feel like they will flake off, rather they are softer and appear as if they will wear better.

Another major plus to this bag is its weight; it is incredibly lightweight. The Gerard Darel 24 hour Utah Python Bag is from the spring collection and will cost around $3,200. We got to review a few of the Gerard Darel bags, but the major downside is how hard they are to locate in the US. You can try your luck at Delcina and Shop Rumor. In fact, Shop Rumor just got a new shipment and they have a python GD Bag! I am not claiming the bag to be extraordinary, the inside is merely lined in canvas, the hardware is just enough, but when the finished product is hanging from your shoulder, you can see why the craze over Gerard Darel will not end. Richard Lambertson and John Truex have quickly become one of our favorite design teams. Their designs are flawless, meticulous, pay close attention to each detail, and are ultimately wearable. The only downfall they ever fall on is being too safe, too far away from monogramming their bags. I am not asking for a tacky monogram all over, but they should show off a bit more, let us all know that this is theirs! With their clutches the signature LT closure signals that this is Lambertson Truex without going overboard. After reviewing the Lambertson Truex Gallo, I was left in love and wanting more. And with a shipment of quite a few Lambertson Truex Bags from the resort collection, we had a selection to choose from.

This is where the ultimately soft and chic Lambertson Truex Dietrich won my heart over. On paper it sounded great, in person it is amazing! This clutch is small but perfect for evenings and will easily fit in your hand without being awkwardly large or heavy. The sand python skin is given a sueded effect, which makes it buttery soft to the touch and strays from the flaky feeling python is known for. I have raved about sueding skins before, and this clutch only sent my love of this treatment further into handbag bliss. With natural earth-tone colors, this clutch can be worn season after season continuing to make a statement and not be out of style.

Not only does the outside meet my fancy, but the inside is as practical as they come. I played around with the clutch, and was able to fit my iPhone, credit cards, cash, lip gloss, and my car keys comfortably. And no, the clutch did not start bulging oddly, as if it were a python still alive devouring its lunch. The inside features three compartments with a slim middle separator. Again, the degree of practicality is astonishing. This is precisely what Lambertson Truex does best. They design bags that have stay power, so that the woman buying them will not have to retire the expensive “it” bag to the back of her closet.

The allure behind Rebecca Minkoff bags continues with a sneak peak at the Holiday 2008 collection. We got our hands on some exclusive goods to show you all what is to come from this young, hot designer. Pairing the success of the Morning After with the funky basketweave-like touch, the Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini is ready for Holiday in a Navy Luxe Combo. You know why I love this bag? It is the supple deep navy leather paired with the stiff brighter patent leather blue. And while the patent stands out, it is not completely distracting. It is like the perfect little combination of colors that look like blue jeans with a punch.

The size is the same as any Morning After Mini. It does not fit over my shoulder super comfortably, but it looks really cute just dangling around my elbow or hand held. I already have the MAM in Tangerine (which I still am obsessed with). This leather is more luscious than the Tangerine, it is one of the more soft leathers from Rebecca Minkoff. Botkier Handbags have become a household name. After meeting Monica, I began to await her fall handbags. The look for her Fall 2008 line is very, well, Fall-esque. With nylon that feels and looks like satin, in deep luscious hues, the bags are fitting for the fall and winter that is slowly coming upon us.

The first bag from the Botkier Fall 2008 line that we reviewed is the Botkier Stevie Convertible Satchel in burgundy nylon. Now this bag I loved for many reasons. First off, the East/West shape was the perfect size for my body. This is deemed the convertible satchel because of the option shoulder strap. I threw on the shoulder strap and found it perfectly fitting, and perfect for a woman on the go. This can be worn cross body as well, making it a great day to day bag as well. The bag is also very functional, offering an outside open pocket with a magnetic closure with two pocket compartments. A nice touch for your cell phone or keys, and the magnetic closure helps give some reassurance that you may not loose your goods. The inside has a zip and cell phone pocket with black Botkier canvas lining.

The color appeals to me the most. I have always been a fan of Burgundy, something about the deep hue of Scarlett that is feminine, regal, and majestic. Could also be the fact that I am an Ohio State Buckeye, meaning that I am obsessed with Scarlett and Grey. The nylon adds a nice touch, but there are a few things I know about this satin appearing nylon. First off, it does not always wear well. It shows wear, it rubs, and then it begins to look cheap. Also, it is truly not meant for every season. This bag will be perfect from mid-October through February, and then it needs to be put away for the next late-fall mostly winter season. But even with the usability a notch down, I am oddly drawn to this handbag. I tried it on and it just looked good on me. Yes, that is somewhat selfish of me to only think of myself, but it is true. I am not tan, I am not pasty white, my skin tone is just ‘normal’. But when I put this bag on, it just seemed to fit. And the burgundy on the nylon, which I would not usually love, radiated and looked even better on me than I imagined.

Valextra continues to forge its way up the handbag rankings, moving past the trendy logo bags and sitting peacefully in between the Chanel’s and Hermes’ of the world. The elegance that is Valextra can be seen in person, as you touch, feel, and carry the handbag. I recently covered the Valextra Babila, but this handbag did not bring enough forward for many of you. Too simple, too plain, not enough attention catching oomph. But the Valextra Boston Bag has all that you need in a classy handbag; it is timeless, chic, sophisticated, supple, logo free, light weight perfection. Yes, perfection.

As soon as I first laid my eyes on the bag, my hands followed. My fingers glided over the simple design, meticulously admiring each and every detail. The stitching, the corners, the leather, the feel. The bag holds its shape, without falling into itself and slumping into oblivion (a problem with a similar shaped bag from LV, the Speedy). The Valextra Boston Bag holds its shape, as if it looks at the world with its head held high, shoulders back, and prim and proper stature. Even upon opening the large zip compartment, the bag refuses to sag away and loose its beautiful structure. The outside of the bag features an snap pocket, for a cell phone or car keys, and the inside features an end to end zip pocket for other goods. Vlad and I had a slight problem with the zipper top closure; the zipper is a tad heavy and it was took a little more effort than I typically expend to open and close the bag. But this was not a problem that turns me off of the bag. In fact, it is the details that lure one in, it is the bags refined beauty that catches your eye, and it is the craftsmanship that keeps you.

Valextra has long been compared to Hermes (we had a great discussion on Valextra vs Hermes on the Purse Forum). It mostly comes down to what you look for and want in a bag. Valextra is still more reasonably priced, and their Boston bag is their staple.

The bag we had the pleasure of reviewing is the Valextra Boston in soft leather, with the Fall 2008 oyster color. I am set on a Boston Bag, totally entralled and captivated, yet I feel myself craving one of the Valextra Crocodile Boston Bags. This I will have to see in person on our next trip to Milan (price around $10,000 for the crocodile Boston).

Carlos Falchi has been a long time favorite of mine, as his exotic handbags have caught my eye and always seem to end up in the more reasonable price range (as far as exotics go). Carlos Falchi is not the new kid on the block, in fact he has spent three decades forging his way into the fashion world. He prides his designs in the meticulous details and craftsmanship, along with exotic skins and an impeccable eye for a handbag that stands out. If you rely on your accessories to make your outfit, Carlos Falchi handbags are perfect for you. I have never been much of the flamboyant dresser, in fact, if you ever find me out and about there is a 95% chance that I am in jeans of some sort and a tee shirt. My handbags truly accentuate what I wear. The bold colors, skins, and designs make me and my outfit stand out, and not get lost in the crowd.

After getting close and personal with the Carlos Falchi Multi Patchwork Tote, I have a new love and obsession. This is the handbag that will allow me to always stand out, to always get that second glance, and all I need to wear are my comfy jeans and plain white tee. Funky and modern this handbag will have stay-power in anyone’s mind that sees it. But I do not think for one minute that all of you will love this bag, it is far too bold and colorful to meet everyone’s fancy. But there will be the group of you, who like me, is head over heels for this bag.

The colorful python blocks are offset with black chunky stitching. Colors including yellow, orange, red, green, blue, turquoise, purple, and pink grab your attention on this tote. The python skin is soft and not as flaky as others, with some blocks having larger scales than others. The double top handles are made with black python and they easily slide over your shoulder, or there is an optional orange leather shoulder strap. What I found the most functional is the inside of each Carlos Falchi bag, which contains a middle compartment separator, zip pocket, two pouch pockets, two pencil holders, and a key holder.

So now we must discuss any downfalls of the bag. I am not a huge fan of python handles on my handbags. The wear that your handles gets shows much quicker with python, and many times the skin begins to flake off, which doesn’t seem right when you are paying more for the skin. But I understand why designers keep the skin throughout and I do appreciate that these handles are black python, which will not show the wear as much as other colors. The shape is great for most, so no criticism there. The only other thing that will stand in the way for many is how entirely bold the bag appears. It does not just appear that way, it is this bold in person too. But I crave this, I yearn for this. I personally need the handbags that stand out and grab attention. My love of accessories came because I needed to accessorize. So for me, this was the first bag out of the lot that I was drawn to and the one that I will continue to want. The bag will cost $4,650 and will be found at Neiman Marcus around October of 2008.

Resort handbags are one of my favorite lines to shop. It is most likely because Vlad and I live where many people vacation. Sure, Fort Lauderdale is quite hot right now, but the ocean breeze, blue skies, and warm weather keeps me here. Resort handbags are made for those that vacation or live in the right places with the right climate. When I lived in Ohio, a chic resort bag would be great for about one month, but I would still stand out. And as much as I like garnering attention, I do not crave the spotlight either. This is why I am rejoicing that I live in Florida and can easily wear the Kara Ross Levis Bag designed with a cork body and purple ostrich accents and handles. Kara Ross handbags have continued amaze me. Sure, I like a great black handbag, but I live 40 minutes from South Beach, I can work with the pizazz. In fact, I need more of it in my life! But this handbag by Kara Ross is not outlandish, in fact it is subdued, yet captivating.

The Kara Ross Levis is a simple shape, offering the special touches with the materials. Kara Ross pairs materials, skins, and gems together that stand beautifully alone but combine perfectly to send a bag into the next level of distinction. The lightweight and light-colored cork body is accented with purple ostrich trim and handles. The top closes with a magnetic closure (3 magnets along the width) and leads way to a functional inside; sporting two pouch pockets, and a zip pocket. The inside of the bag is lined with beige suede and also trimmed with purple ostrich, which goes to show that Ross does not neglect the inside of the bag (which unfortunately many designers do).

While the idea of using cork for a handbag is not entirely new, it is unique. The cork on this handbag is soft to the touch, in fact, if you close your eyes and run your fingers over the bag you would never guess it is cork. But then you can feel tiny grooves which allude to the material being different from the norm. The special Kara Ross touch is applied to the outside of the bag, with a cork, ostrich, and amethyst charm. This is that small but ideal finishing touch. The charm is not removable, but you could always flip the bag around if you do not feel like showing the stone off. There are only two potential problems one could run into: size and usability of the materials. The bag is flat and not meant to fit a towel or much at all. The bag is meant to keep its flat shape, which will keep it from bulging oddly and loosing the flat shape that it was designed to maintain. This is only a problem if you are looking to stuff the bag, which I would not recommend. But the upside of the purse not carrying much and being flat is that it holds closely to your body and is light weight. The only other aspect that I would take into account is the cork. I will not speak as if I know, because I do not. But how does cork wear? What is it like over time? Is it actually more sturdy or will it get dark if wet, change colors, etc? This would be something to take into account, but I could be entirely off base and cork could be one of the most time-friendly and sturdy materials since sturdy leather.

Of all the Kara Ross bags we received to review and shoot this is by far my favorite. Don’t get me wrong, we have other brilliant designs that I adore, but there is something about this one-of-a-kind combination that has my full attention. This bag costs $1,355 via Kara Ross. Vlad and I have recently had the pleasure of getting to know JT Italia Handbags one-on-one. After featuring the line a month ago, we realized that without seeing, touching, and learning about the bags in person we were missing out. Jeffrey Parker (the J of JT) and I worked out a meeting between Purse Blog and JT Italia bags in person, which included a box filled with goodies to review. By having the bags in our hands, we have been able to inspect every detail, have me try them on, and really learn what the bags are all about. Can I just tell you that these bags show a love and true understanding of handbags with each and every stitch, with the leather chosen, with the attention to detail. There is no detail or piece left behind when it comes to JT Italia Handbags, in fact the focus relies so heavily on every detail it was hard to capture to show you all.

One of my favorite bags from the line is the JT Italia HB Satchel in white leather with a red edge paint/finish. The combination of stark white buffalo leather with a slightly cream lambskin body sent me into a deep love right away. There is a difference between leathers, and you only will know this if you have felt and examined many bags by many designers. Compare bags in your collection, you will feel the difference. JT implements a lambskin that is so supple I would easily confuse it with a huge design house rather than a newer-to-the market designer. The shape is another design perfection. It is as if Jeffrey and Tony listened to the women of the world and actually designed a bag that is flattering and easy to wear season to season.

But the true time, love, hours, and energy go into the details of each and every JT Italia bag. By looking at one of these bags, even if just for a second, you can see the attention given to each small piece. And with each small piece not being neglected, comes an overwhelmingly stunning finished product. The two top handles feature hand-braided leather details, which add a dimension that takes the bag away from being what is expected. Along with this, the top handles are functionally adjustable with 11 holes, which means the bag at its loosest hole will fit over your shoulder. I preferred it to be handheld, but after a long day of carrying the bag, I would love to have the option to throw it over my shoulder. The handles are made with a sturdier buffalo leather which is a tad stiff at first, but with use with soften up and be easier to adjust.

As I said previously, the details on this bag are mind-boggling. The outside of the bag has a pouch pocket on the front, but it is not something I would use with an important object. The pocket could easily hold your cell phone or keys, but the fact that it is a looser pouch makes me a tad wary that whatever I place in it may fall out. Another aspect that is paid close attention to is the hardware. The gold hardware is so intricate that it would be considered more of stand alone jewelry than hardware for a bag. The signature JT ring dangles from the front of the bag giving an elegant finishing touch. The inside of the bag could be flipped outside and stand on its own as a stunning bag. Red leather lines the interior, which coincides perfectly with the red edge paint finish on the outside. The interior also features two pouch pockets, one large zip pocket, and a two slots to hold pens/pencils.

The fact that the designers did not neglect one single detail proves that they are in it for the long haul, trying to win over an audience that will not settle for mediocrity. I fell in love with this bag from the start. If I were forced to think of one negative I would say the bag is a tad heavy. But then again, you could remove the signature JT ring and chain to take some weight off. But the bag heightens your senses and lures you in. You can not help but stare, and begin to realize that with every detail, the other bags in your collection may be lacking. JT Handbags showcase a handbag that stands on its own, timeless, classic, and elegant. The volume and draping of the bag and leather pop. As Jeffrey from JT told me, “It is really in all of the visible and not always visible details that make the bags JT.”

Lambertson Truex released their Resort collection earlier this month, which has caught many editors attention. Although the bags will not be in stores until October or early November, we had the pleasure of reviewing them now for all of you. Known for their meticulous attention to detail, clean lines, and overall simple yet elegant feel, Lambertson Truex has continued to forge their way in the handbag world. Their Resort 2008 line delivered precisely what it is they are known for, only further identifying with their goals and visions as designers. Our first bag to review from the Resort 2008 collection is the Lambertson Truex Gallo, which lures you in with its simple pairing of supple white leather and dove leather trim. The first thing that stands out about this bag are the colors used.

The palette is not eye catching along, but pairing these two colors together does something magical. It is not in your face, can’t miss it, but it is subtle and subdued, as are many designs from Lambertson Truex. White handbags are not rare but are hard to compile, and LT does this beautifully. The shape of this bag is slouchy, but it does not loose its shape altogether. Rather the Gallo conforms to your body and under your shoulder, fitting perfectly close and hanging far enough down from your shoulder. This handbag is not jumping out and clawing to grab your attention, but its understated beauty makes this bag perfect to wear to accent and not distract from your outfit.

Another major perk of this bag is that it is light weight. Some leathers are notoriously heavy, which after time will wear you down, your shoulder down, and you will unfortunately end up with a bad neck, shoulder, arm. The silky smooth and soft white leather is offset with a glossy dove leather trim and handle. The shoulder strap can be adjusted by 5 holes and a buckle on one side, making it easy to decide what will fit most comfortably on your body. On the front Lambertson Truex uses an oversized silver buckle, which has been seen on many of their bags and designs for Fall also. The top flap is closed by a magnetic opening leading way to the inside of the bag, which is cared for and treated as if the whole world will see it.

This is something Richard and John want to be known for, their divine details on the inside of their bags as well as the outside. The inside of the LT Gallo is lined with the LT signature light blue suede and trimmed with white leather. Functionality remains of top priority and it shows; the inside features two open pockets at the front, a large zip pocket at the back, and a white leather key chain holder. This handbag is not a trend setter, not an “it” bag, rather a classic. A bag that you could pull out summer after summer and wear without anyone thinking it were totally out of style. This is what makes this bag stand out; its stay power and its simple flow. A few weeks ago, I received a somewhat unusual email from a guy who wanted me to review his bean bag.

Yeap, Andrew from SumoLounge.com was eager to get the word out, he was craving for reviews and he knew that his product was going to do well. Even at the Purse Blog. We do write about bags all day long, so it was going to make perfect sense to have us take a closer look at this enormous bean bag as well. Let’s take a look at the specs:

As you can see, the bag is quite large. To call it just a bean bag would really not do it justice. The Omni is absolutely brilliant, it goes way beyond the traditional bean bag that you used to have as a kid. The Omni is an engineering masterpiece. Laying on the ground, it appears like it’s a lifeless, shapeless form that couldn’t really provide any good seating support at all. Don’t be fooled, once you place it in a preferred position and sit down in it, the sturdy little foam balls realign around your body, molding you comfortably into a shell that hugs your body. When Megs sat beside me on the Omni, the shape still didn’t give in. You can easily change its placement and sit whichever way you feel most comfortable in – the Omni will make it happen.

The material is a very sturdy nylon that is still comfortable to the touch. You would think that nylon isn’t the best material for a seat, but the Omni does manage to stay very comfortable, even over longer seating periods. And thanks to this choice of exterior, your bag is probably going to last forever. For $150 (free shipping!), the Omni is a great piece of furniture that should not be missing in any household.
