PurseForum Roundup – March 1

Happy March 1st! The first day of spring is three short weeks away, and we could not be happier. Welcome to the first PurseForum Roundup of March. This week, we’ll spend some time gazing at the wonders in the Jewelry Box, particularly in two threads that really warmed up a cool, crisp evening with plenty of sparkle. We’ll also sneak a peek at some colorful Coach Saffiano bags and accessories, enjoy an eye-popping Céline vintage find, and marvel at what some creative Christian Louboutin owners have done to their shoes. It all starts below, so come along and enjoy!

An arm party featuring Cartier Love Bracelets

It is still plenty cold in many places, even though spring is definitely in sight. Many of us are layering for warmth, but in the Jewelry Box, “layering” takes on a whole different meaning in our Layering and Stacking thread. We all loved purplepinky’s eclectic and stunning ensemble. Meanwhile, etk124 paired a Cartier Love bangle with a beautiful monogram bracelet from her husband, and foxgal showed us a great stack including Leah Alexandra, Pandora, and Hèrmes. Visit the thread for more inspiring looks, no matter what the weather has in store for you.

Maharajah of Patiala Custom Boucheron Necklace

Speaking of jewels, the Royalty and Their Jewelry thread was extremely busy this week. When we stopped in, we quickly saw why! Member aristocrat has very generously treated us with collections that must be seen to be believed. We love this thread, not only for the amazing jewelry, but also for the education, trivia, and history. The necklace pictured above was commissioned in 1928 by the Maharajah of Patiala from Boucheron’s flagship store in Paris, and there is more to this fascinating story in the thread.

Another new addition we saw this week is a wonderful set gifted to Wallis Simpson by the Duke of Windsor that certainly will leave you breathless, as will this romantic cigarette case Wallis gave him in 1935. We had a great time in this thread this week and hope you will enjoy it just as much.

Coach Saffiano Blue Handbag and Purple Wallet

There is a new club in Coach! Have you discovered the Saffiano Clubhouse? This aready-popular thread has a treasure trove of splendid bags from this leather line and is sure to remain popular throughout the season. Cupcakegirl’s Robin bag paired with her Ultraviolet wallet make a breathtaking pair, and purseobsessedRX showed off her gorgeous Honeybee phone crossbody to an appreciative audience. Roundup regulars know that we love blue and won’t be surprised that we swooned over J9MLlover’s cobalt mini and crazyforcoach09’s cobalt east/west tote. What is your favorite Saffiano color? There are plenty to choose from!

Vintage Red Celine Handbag

Céline fans got a real treat this week when member misinformasian revealed this vintage beauty in a red that can only be called utterly perfect. We must congratulate misinformasian on this glorious find, and are so grateful she shared it with us. Another thread in Céline with lot of action this week was the Trio thread; Prettymonkey26 joked that her cat seems a little jealous when she gets a new bag, and we believe her! Take a look at her reveal of her new Trio Solo in Sun and see if you agree. While you’re visiting Céline, be sure to visit the Fall 2013 preview thread for some innovative shoe and boot designs that will definitely get your attention!

Christian Louboutin pumps embellished with Sharpies

The Christian Louboutin subforum is without a doubt the most popular shoe destination on the PurseForum. This huge and bustling subform houses many many threads, but none showcases the creativity of PurseForum shoe lovers like the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) thread, now in its second edition. We love to see what Louboutin lovers have done with their shoes, whether to breathe new life into an old pair or doll up a new pair for a special occasion. Usually crystals or fabric are the media of choice for these creations, so imagine our surprise to see what Girl X decided to do with a tired pair of Decollete Patents she couldn’t bear to wear. We don’t want to spoil the surprise, but let’s just say the shoes pictured above started their life as a plain color called Camel Jazz. Oakenfoldgoddess did an incredible job “strassing” these Lady Lynch pumps with Swarovski crystals, and the results are definitely a must-see. There are lots of beautiful shoes in this thread, be sure to drop in when you are in the CL subforum!

Have a great week everyone!
