It’s become a seasonal tradition; immediately following the livestream of the Proenza Schouler show, the brand puts a couple of bags from the collection on its website for immediately pre-order. Sometimes they’re runway bags and sometimes they’re not, but for Proenza Schouler Fall 2012, they’re versions of the most eye-catching accessories from the show. And they’re furry.

The Proenza Schouler Akira Satchel and Proenza Schouler Large Chieko Clutch are both leather-backed bags covered in natural deer hides, the use of which represents something of a first for Proenza. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t recall the brand making fur accessories in the past. As is delightfully typical, though, Jack and Lazaro have chosen to take the fur trend in a different direction than all of the designers who use fox, rabbit or Mongolian lamb. Check out the clutch after the jump, or pre-order them via Proenza Schouler for $4595 and $1215, respectively.

Sorry, this is a truly disgusting desaster: I don’ t want to be spotted with a dead Bambi dangling from my arm :-(

  • mollypete

Ok, that’s a baby deer.  It’s repulsive.  Sorry, I said it.

      AGREED.

Before I read the post I thought – why would someone dye fur to look like a baby deer?  And it’s an actual deer?  ugh!

  • Carriekon2

they’ve use fur before, there are pony hair versions of PS1 & they’re gorgeous!  but these…poor bambi

  • melodymouse

Revolting.  These bags, combined with the fact my new PS1 is falling apart, cements my decision not to purchase from these designers again.

    The

Ugh! Fur bags are gross enough already, this looks like a hunter stitched the skin together right after he was finished getting the meat off the bones.

  • Christofle

Love the bag, the clutch is missing a little something…A leather trim border would of made it much nicer.

  • Kouture Crochet

Noo! Really, even if you don’t mind fur, I just don’t think turning bambi’s mom into a handbag is a good idea. I give this bag an F

These furry creatures are an unfortunate aberration from P-S’s usual elegant style.

  • ElleOnWheelz

    $4595? Wow, that’s ridiculous.

  • Kemilia

Either the designer ran out of ideas or this is a sick joke.

  • Kirstenreilly

How could they possibly think that bambi bags would be well received? Horrible, tasteless.

  • Lulu

I’m disgusted. Its too bold and in your face.

  • Meghan

This is the most offensive handbag I’ve ever seen.  Not a fan of Proenza Schouler!

  • Rashida

    Terrible bag… just ugly!

  • BIR

I usually like extreme exotics or rare skins used on bags but ………….. This is like wearing BAMBI so …. Not for me …..and the craftsmanship looks bad !!!!
