I have always been a prada bag person but it is so hard to get the original unless I leave the country,why dont they have an outlet in different regions in Africa….I guess they think they dont have a market here…HOW WRONG.

I realize that I am posting months and months after the last posting, however I am wondering if any of the Prada Fairy owners have been carrying their bags for a couple months now without issues? Just wanted to get some updates on how the Fairy Bags are holding up?

I live in North West England, where it rains ALL the time. I have had my Prada Fairy bag for about 6 weeks now, use it on weekends because my job is very dirty and I would NEVER take it to work, and I have never had any problems with bleeding or anything like that! I adore my bag and it’s my first designer purse (’I'm ususaly a shoe girl)! I recommend this to anyone!!!

just scanning through the posts to keep myself out of trouble as i await my first ever Prada bag. i had coveted many styles, but the fairy pushed me over the edge. i plotted and planned until i got one from ebay. i don’t even care about the bleeding or the cost. i live in a place sans Prada and will have to rely on online authentication. i’ve been reading enough here and elsewhere that i feel comfortable enough believing my own eyes when i see the bag. as for the bleeding problem, all of the posts are very helpful. i especially like the idea of getting the bag treated to prevent running. i don’t imagine i would carry such a bag in the rain even if it didn’t run! however, it is a tad disconcerting to hear of bleeding *without* rain! from the timing of all of this i think the bag i’m getting might be second generation. sorry to ramble. i’m just so excited. i’ve only wanted two – okay now three – major designer bags in my life. the fairy will be two down with one to go…tell me blog members – is this a sickness? oh well, i guess it could be worse. could be drugs…i’ll be sure to report in when i get my bag!

I’ve been carrying the Prada Fairy Bag everyday for about a week now (admittedly I don’t own it, I borrowed off lovemeandleaveme.com), but I haven’t had any problems with it. I think this one is from the second batch of deliveries. It’s absolutely STUNNING though, I get compliments all the time, just wish i could afford to buy it.

I am writing to ask Markella (who posted her comments on 3/17) for updated information. I have bought one recently. It is really a stunning piece of art. However, after the purchase, and read through all the information from this blog, I am worrying if the pricey bag’s good looking can last long. Still strugging if I shall make the exchange within the next few days. I suppose Markelle has been using the 2nd batch product which is an improved version. I wonder if Markella could kindly let me know if her bag is still in good (bleeding free) condition since her comments on 3/17. Many thanks.

I’m a Melbourne girl too and I am wanting to buy the Fairy clutch. Have you been happy with it? Have you experienced any of the bleeding problems that people have spoken about? I am a mum of two little ones so the occasional spill etc is a fact of life at my house and I’d hate to accidentally ruin my new clutch. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi, all. I have the Fairy bag and, yes, mine has bled a little bit but I don’t really feel like it mars the bag. Honestly, before I read all of this stuff I just thought that the illustration must have been like that. It’s got such a pattern that the blue could easily be a part of it, and be meant to be that way.

To me, it’s a badge of merit. At least it shows it’s real…like wearing linen and getting wrinkled.

I have the Prada Fairy bag and I just adore it! I would never consider carrying a deer skin bag in the rain anyway, so I do not think their advice about the leather being extra delicate is upsetting. I was sad to hear about the bleeding issues as I think this bag is stunning, but I went ahead and purchased one anyway as I just love it so much and I am just planning on being careful with it. I also have a Louis Vuitton Stratus PM and a Motard Biker, both of which are also delicate leathers so I am planning on treating the Prada Fairy the same way. For those considering this bag, it is truly amazing in person!

I just got back from prada in melbourne where I brought the trembled blossom in black (with glitter laquered effect) for every day and will use the fairy clutch for the evening. Really happy to have a piece of the fairy without spending the $$ on the big one. Great comprise to have a classic up to date black bag and the cheeky fun of the fairy. Have to say I am English and live here, there is never a problem getting stock in Australia – as no one buys it here!!!!!!Very happy with bags can’t stop looking at them

I have the bag and love it, must be one of the lucky ones. Alas, I have been careful with the bag. Just returned from Italy and France, when lo and behold in the Prada boutique were the models from the “Fairy” ligne modeling the RTW and was a champagne party!!! Was lovely and had a great time. The SA’s at Prada Europe advised it was safe if need be, to have the bag professionally sprayed–e.g profeesional shoe cobbler against moisture.

I HAVE THE FAIRY BAG, MINE WAS FIRST IN U.S., I HAVE NOT CARRIED IT STILL IN THE BOX, AFTER I HAVE READ ABOUT THE BLEEDING PROBLEMS, I CALLED PRADA CORP. IF YOU CARRY THE BAG OUTSIDE AND IT IS RAINING YOU MUST CARRY IT IN A PLASTIC BAG!!
I ALSO HAD THE LIMITED ROBOT TEDDY BEAR BAG AND THE PRADA LOGO FELL OFF WITHIN 2 WEEKS!!!! I DONT KNOW ABOUT ANYONE ELSE BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM PAYING THAT MUCH FOR A PURSE AND YOU HAVE TO CARRY IT IN A PLASTIC BAG….. COME ON, GET REAL!!!! I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT LOUIS VUITTON, I WILL NOT BUY PRADA AGAIN….

I am writing to you to confirm the story that this bag is “bleeding”. I carried it once in perfect weather conditions, I was extra careful because the assistant had warned me that the bag is “sensitive” and it still got paint running all over its surface. I was very upset. I called the Prada shop in Milan where I bought it and they asked me to send the bag back to them and have it replaced with one from their second batch of deliveries which is supposed to be problem free. I got the new bag ( identical to the one I had sent) and I wore it and so far there is no colour bleeding at all!! I am still very cautious but I think problem is solved! Hello to my new friends!
I whined about this bag from the moment I laid eyes on it…I finally resigned myself to the fact that I was actually in love with James Jean’s illustrations and not so much with the bag…(I also feel a bit squeamish about the deer leather…I know, I know, cows are people too:-) Anyways, I digress….this whole “bleeding” affair is really disheartening…I mean REALLY, Prada…All bags are pieces of art….you’d expect a little more durability from a high-end label…Isn’t it the cheapies that are supposed to die after one season?? *sigh*…If the bag is a piece of art and it is THAT fragile then the only suggestion I can make is to hang it up on the wall and just look at it:-(….A less expensive option would be to buy a James Jean illustration and hang THAT on the wall (where, incidentally, it belongs)at a fraction of the “bleeding bag” price.
BTW, this is my first post: What an awesome forum…you guys are my new handbag gurus

It cannot be that limited as I have never ordered a Prada bag before and I called three different stores – Colorado, Chicago and San Francisco. All three of them called me back and said they had one. The store in Colorado told me it was a FINAL sale. I asked them why and they said because it is so limited. The store in Chicago said I could return it for a store credit. I almost ordered it and then decided to do a little research with the purse blog and when I saw the comments on the bleeding that made the decision easy. I am going to stick to Chanel and Louis Vuitton!!!

Although it is a work of art but for the price is still needs to be a FUNCTIONING purse. I love this bag but much like the damier speedy when it first came out, am turned off by its problems.
