Prada Nappa S Satchel

The lacy Prada Pizzo S Satchel was looked at and disguarded by many. But me? I actually was drawn to the handbag. Why exactly, I do not know. Sure it is ornate, over-done, but somehow, it is this beautiful piece of lace on a handbag that captivates me. My simple style sees this as a dress-up accessory. And in South Florida, where jeans and heels make the perfect evening wear, this Prada bag is the perfect pick-me-up.

But of course there were those of you that were not impressed with the lace, and in fact wanted to take scissors to the lace and trim it up. Was it just the shape of the ‘extra’ material that irked you? Or would you like the bag with leather? Maybe Prada thought they could meet your fancy too, with the Prada Nappa S Satchel, which nixes the lace and brings in luscious Nappa leather. This bag’s ruching detail on the side will still either be loved or hated. There are top handles and a zip closure. While it is available in black, the metallic oak is much more impressive to me. But if I had my choice, I would stick with the quirky lace version. Buy the Nappa version through Saks for $1,920.

As Megs mentioned I am currently in LA and I have to say, it is wonderful out here. While Megs and Vlad watched our beloved Ohio State Buckeyes choke on tv, I was at the game with some roommates from college. We could barely believe our eyes, but, we have to give USC some credit – their team has quite a bit of talent! Either way, I couldn’t help myself from doing a little people watching. The USC fans were supporting their team while carrying some rather amazing handbags. I did notice a few bags that had a “punk” vibe going on. So, as I began thinking about what to write about today, I found a bunch of handbags that mimicked the look I saw at the game.

I am all for a little lace here and there, but this Prada Pizzo S Satchel does nothing for me. The handbag is classified as punk, but it just looks like a decent idea went wrong. I can hardly appreciate the bag because every time I do look at it, all I see is the lace overlay. You know, now that I think about it, if the bag had less lace, it would be a total hit. Furthermore, I could see the lace getting snagged from daily wear and tear. But, at the same time, yes, I can see the punk vibe. I haven’t see anyone sporting this handbag out here, but maybe I will soon. So, what do you think – if you are looking for a handbag with a little punk or attitude, would this Prada bag be the one? Prada Vitellino Mordore’A Clutch

I swear when I first looked at this clutch there was a silver metallic version available as well as the purple metallic. But now the only option left is the purple metallic, which of course, me being me, I love. There has been my long post on purple clutches along with my Miu Miu Clutch love. So I have a slight obsession. But this clutch, this sexy option from Prada, has my heart palpitating. It is overall simple. There are no bells or whistles. Nothing amazing. But the simplicity of the design is what grabs me, what makes me give the bag a second glance and think to myself, “this is so me”. The Prada Vitellino Mordore’A Clutch shows off richly gathered calfskin with a signature metal Prada logo in the center. Dimensions are just right, about 9½”W X 4″H X ½”D. The purple metallic will look stunning with fall and winter greys. It is my new purple clutch obsession for the day. Now I promise to lay off the purple (but it may be hard!). Prada Stripes Hobo

This trip in New York has been filled with the most stunning weather and the most Prada bags I have seen in a long time. I have been utterly shocked at seeing bag after bag of Prada. Is Prada the new bag of NYC? And these are not the nylon bags, they are the runway bags with large studs, prints, and non-recognizable to the masses. Today I saw a bag that again made me fall in love. While we were at a fashion show in a spacious and jaw-dropping loft overlooking the Hudson River there she was, the Prada Stripes Hobo in black. Of course it was in black, but I am not obsessing over the black, rather the purple hues. The violet medium hobo and dark lavender small hobo offer the perfect hue in a bag that I have already confessed my love of. Purple is associated with giving peace of mind, hence it is used often in offices and work spaces. Not only does it give peace of mind, but it looks amazing on blond hair blue eyed gals (can’t you see why I love it!). The supple Nappa leather on these Prada bags melts in your hands and the stripes add the perfect amount of dimension. Buy the small hobo via Saks for $1495 and the medium hobo via Saks for $2050.

Prada Stripes Multicolor Small Hobo

On Friday night my parents had a dinner party that Vlad and I attended. Of course all of my moms friends know that I am the ‘bag lady’ and many times they ask me what I think of their handbag. The same handbag-loving-friend of my mom who carried the Michael Kors Watchband Clutch to the last event we saw her at was again carrying a new stunner. As she walked in the house and greeted us, my eyes were drawn to her Prada bag and as I stared at the bag I instantly fell in love. She was carrying the Prada Stripes Multicolor Small Hobo in the turquoise-violet combination which looked divine and really was the perfect size. The small version adds the right amount of color splash and spunk, while not taking away from the overall outfit or look. The leather is supple Nappa, which is smooshy to the touch and perfect to showoff the colors. The top handle and shoulder strap are detachable, but I loved this being carried with the small top handle. Dimensions are 9½”W X 7″H X 3½”D. I first posted about the Prada Trembled Blossoms Bag and found it captivating yet pricey for the small size. Now I find it captivating, pricey for its size, but worth it. Buy through Saks for $1675.

Prada Nappa Mini Clutch

I have been a long time fan of Prada bags, but as of recently have not been completely and totally drawn into any of their bags (ok, we all know I loved the Prada Fairy bag but after the bleeding debacle I am somewhat over it). There is something about a simple, chic, feminine bag that really grabs me and reels me right in. The price is always taken into consideration, because while I wish I had an unlimited budget, many things take precedence over my handbag collection. So when I see a great bag, and an even better price, I am easily able to justify it to myself. Take the cute little Prada Nappa Mini Clutch for example. It is small but great to go to the bar and even better to throw in your larger bag (dimensions are 7¾”W X 4¼”H X 1″D). The bag is designed with nappa leather and features a bow detail on the front. Sure it is small, but it is unbelievably cute and hard to pass up. Available in pink and black through Saks for $395.
