This little piggy comes from Gucci Gucci Pig Pouch Farm

I’ve got a pig obsession. Even if I attempted to explain the story to you, it would never make sense and you would seriously think I am some sort of crazed person. All you need to know is the love of pigs comes from an inside joke between my sister and I and now she calls me pig.

I literally squealed for joy when I saw this little Gucci accessory pop up on Net-A-Porter. Some kitschy accessories are released from time to time and many of them are far too absurd for me to ever want to splurge on them. But today I’ve got a major itch for the Gucci Little Pig Leather and Canvas Coin Purse and I plan to buy one for me and one for my sister.

RHBH: Dont worry, Im not going to propose...because I already have. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills1 200x138A very large part of me wishes that I could entirely ignore the Kim debacle on last night’s episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and instead just talk about Lisa. Lisa is lovely! She’s wonderful. Lisa is made of sunshine and puppies and rainbows, and I would like to move in with her. You know, just in case any of you know her and could potentially make that happen.

Anyway, I suppose we have to talk about Sad Kim, even though her sister insists that she’s fine, just fine, and she’s acted like this since she was a kid. If that’s true, what proportion of her life has she spent having fits in bathrooms? Like 30%? How Bravo even sees fit to exploit her on television is beyond me. They should be ashamed of themselves, but I’m not sure anyone at Bravo has the capacity for shame. On to the recap!

When we talk about a bag having retro influences, we usually means that it harkens back a couple of decades – the 50s, the 70s, something like that. If a company is going really retro, maybe it even references the roaring 20s. Rarely, though, does a bag get all medieval on us like the House of Harlow Rey Bag does. This little velvet pouch has a slightly Renn Faire vibe to it, right? Are you digging it? (And yes, I know I’m mixing my eras here. The Renaissance was after the Middle Ages. I know!)

Louis Vuitton buys controlling share in high end crocodile tannery Louis Vuitton 361Image via Vogue.com

Did you look through the show shots from Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 and think to yourself, “Self, there’s a whole boatload of crocodile in this collection, and I’m not just talking about bags?” If you did, Women’s Wear Daily‘s report that LVMH has invested heavily in a family-owned Singaporean crocodile tannery makes so much sense that it’s almost silly.

Indeed, the exotics in Vuitton’s show didn’t stop at bags; it seemed like every other model was wearing a powdery pastel coat or jacket made of yards of the exceptionally pricey skin, the MSRPs of which will surely boggle the mind once they come to retail. If Vuitton (and LVMH’s other leather goods brands, including Celine and Givenchy) intends to continue this uptick in crocodile design, then this investment could be the start of many beautiful accessories to come. Are you a croc customer?

PurseForum + Rebecca Minkoff Exclusive Bag Design Collaboration: Phase I TPFRM1 600x176

You have no idea how excited I have been while sitting down with the Rebecca Minkoff team to come up with an opportunity that has never been seen before in the handbag world! We knew we wanted to collaborate on a bag design, but it was super important for us to include Rebecca’s very first fan base, the PurseForum Minkettes, in the process. We took it a step further from simply allowing the fans to be part of designing an existing bag, because the finished product will be a brand new shape and style. And since we are taking it back to the original fan base, we are also taking production back to a domestic factory. That means this bag will be made in the USA!!

There will be many phases of voting and you do not want to miss any of them. Your vote is going to help create a bag that will walk the Rebecca Minkoff runway show in February. What are you waiting for?! Vote in Phase I now!

Vote now to be a part of this unprecedented opportunity!!

RHNJ: Do you want to see Justin Beaver tomorrow? Real Housewives of New Jersey1 200x139In the most recent seasons of Real Housewives, it seems as though producers have either purposefully tried to end things on a happy note or there simply wasn’t enough drama among the cast members to manufacture a final blowup. Thankfully for all of us who enjoy trashy television, last night’s season finale of Real Housewives of New Jersey was downright hostile. And I kind of liked it?

Normally I’m so sick of discussing the same problems over and over that I hate the thought of tuning in to see the reunion, but with the group poised to turn on Teresa en masse, I can’t wait to see what happens when they’re all forced to be in the same room together. Except for Jacqueline, that is, because she isn’t in the reunion clips that I’ve seen. If memory serves, this is the first time that a cast member has no-showed a reunion, so you know that something juicy is going on. Anyway, before we get to that stuff, we have to talk about what actually happened last night.

Dior collaborates with artist Anselm Reyle for limited edition accessories Dior 21Images via WWD

Women’s Wear Daily has announced that Christian Dior will team up with Berlin contemporary art star Anselm Reyle for a line of accessories, handbags and makeup just in time for Miami’s Art Basel. I’m pretty sure that it cost me a hundred bucks just to write that sentence. In all seriousness, though, perhaps Reyle’s thoroughly modern take on these bags and small leather goods is an indication that LVMH is done being so precious with the Dior aesthetic?

Let's be best friends.
