JADEtribe Safi Bag

So, are there really people out there trying to make this whole alpine-bohemian thing happen for winter? Because if there are, I must protest vociferously. In the words of the immortal LOLCats: Do. Not. Want.

Perhaps my personal cultural bias is showing in this opinion, but to me, the JADEtribe Safi Bag looks like it would smell like hacky sack, body odor and patchouli.

Sighted tonight in the cold rain, New York City, 5th Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman. Even though it’s just a prop, it’s worth noticing.

How one could not notice it, is the question.

UGG Covina Cutout Fold Over Clutch UGG Covina Cutout Fold Over Clutch 200x110Holy leather batman! Ok, I am going to say it now so you don’t judge me later, I like this clutch. It is simple, functional and versatile. I’ll be the first to say there is nothing super special about the clutch, but there is enough that I like to peak my interest. As much as I enjoy an elegant and sophisticated clutch for a special occasion, I also love a clutch that is as sporty as I am. Maybe sporty isn’t the word I am looking for, but I think you probably catch my drift.

Along with the arrival of fall comes a more practical attitude to dressing. Gone are the easy breezy casual days of summer when I could simply throw on a sundress and sandals. With the arrival of Autumn comes back-to-school, crisp cool weather and a more hectic schedule.

Now that my daughter is in pre-school I find I have to carry many more items while we rush out the door in the morning. I need a practical stylish tote with plenty of room for snacks; hand wipes and sippy cups. A chic and roomy brown leather tote will perfectly match my chunky cashmere sweaters and Burberry trench.

Folks, we have a winner. The Zambos & Siega Whitney Bag is an absolutely fabulous bag that would get quite a bit of use. This large tote is beyond perfect for so many things. I am constantly switching up my day-to-day bags because I can’t decide how big of a bag I might want to carry that day. Anyone else feel the same way?

Real Housewives of Atlanta: If that moose walked in this building, you can just forget it. rh 9 500x351

Ya know, when Nene originally posed the idea of going to Athens on Real Housewives of Atlanta, I naturally assumed that the editors would take the “Athens is the ghetto” editing angle since, well, that seemed natural, considering Nene. Surprise, surprise! They got all creative on us and took the “Athens is the woods! Look at the trailer park!” angle.

In reality, Athens is a college town chock full of upper-middle-class twenty-somethings from the Atlanta suburbs and the bars they love, but I guess that didn’t work as a story arc for the producers at Bravo, so they took footage of some trailers next to the highway outside of town and pretended like that was the hardscrabble beginning from which Nene was able to pull herself up by starring in a reality TV show. Nice try on making Nene’s upbringing more interesting, producers! But you can’t fool someone that actually lives there. I’m on to you.

And for all of those that were hoping for the “Nene is from the ghetto” angle, don’t worry, we got that later! And, really, that apartment complex WAS in the ghetto. And we also got a super morbid and sad engagement party, wig shenanigans, a peek at She by Sheree and a meeting with Nene’s real father.

Well, isn’t this adorable. And by the name of the bag, that appears to be exactly the reaction for which the bag’s designers were hoping.

I’m not sure that “twee” is exactly the appropriate term for the Jerome Dreyfuss Twee Mini Python Bag, though. Maybe it’s the silver and black combo, but while it’s a really cute bag, it doesn’t have that quality of preciousness that the word implies. Semantics aside, however, it’s still a really nice-looking mini bag.

Let's be best friends.
