Now this? This is more like it.

Earlier this week, we documented a rare Nancy Gonzalez misstep with the Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile and Whipsnake Floral Tote. It lacked the easy simplicity of most of Gonzalez’s designs, and it also went without a bit of the luxury for which she’s known.

Luckily, I found the Nancy Gonzalez Pleated-Trim Croc Satchel to wipe that from our memories and remind us all why Ms. Gonzalez is the biggest croc designer in the business.

Sale Alert: L.A.M.B. Ultraviolet Satchel LAMB Ultraviolet Satchel 185x200Since we’re a blog that’s committed to finding great bags at equally exciting prices, it only makes sense that we alert you to a sale every now and then – today, it’s the L.A.M.B. Ultraviolet Satchel.

This handbag may be a lot of look for some people, but for a girl like me that wears lots of black and grey, sometimes a fluorescent handbag is exactly what your outfit needs. For any one that has doubts, maybe take the plunge: the bright-yellow satchel in my closet garners me more compliments than any other bag in my collection. If you aren’t convinced, it also comes in black and grey. Buy through Nordstrom for $249, reduced from $375.

J. Crew Panier Clutch

Once again, a J. Crew handbag reminds me that I need to check the site more often. I definitely have several J. Crew clothing items, but I don’t have a J. Crew handbag. Yet, every time I come across a handbag I am constantly reminded that I should make one my own. Once again, the price point is one you cannot beat. And in fact, you are usually getting a rather cute and functional bag.

Leica M7 Hermes Edition Leica Hermes M7

When two masters of their domain come together to collaborate, no chin is safe from slobbering, wet drool. In this case, the German manufacturer Leica Camera AG and the Parisian high-fashion house Hermès joined forces to create a very special limited edition camera, namely the new Leica M7 Edition Hermès.

I know that this is the PurseBlog and I am going off on distant tangents here. But let me elaborate. I have three good reasons to share my new acquisition with our readers.

Firstly, I am an avid photographer. Not only do I occasionally contribute to the editorial with my Shutterbags bit, but I also enjoy photographing in my spare time.

Secondly, I am an avid Leica fan and collector. Their optics are outstanding, their rangefinder cameras are legendary and have worked their magic in skilled hands of masters like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Annie Leibowitz.

Thirdly, it’s Hermès! There is a good reason that the iconic fashion house’s enthusiastic crowd is one of the most active and devoted on TPF. Hermès’ leather working, craftsmanship and history are second to none.

If that does not convince you, I may just flat out say that I am bloody excited and just want to show off!

Spring is around the corner and we have a sneak peak at the Botkier Spring 2010 collection! In October we sat down with Monica to see what was in store for us from Botkier. On top of that, we were finalizing our amazing PurseBlog + Botkier Limited Edition Handbag.

Monica shares her a couple of her favorite bags from her Spring 2010 line. Our personal favorite from the Spring collection is the the Howard Street Bag, which comes in a great luscious pink or a blue multi-colored embossed python version.

At the end of the video, Monica talks a bit about our collaboration together. We are thrilled to be working with Botkier and know there will be many more partnerships in the future!

Make sure to vote for Phase II of the PurseBlog + Botkier Limited Edition Handbag.

Lately I’m really attracted to uniquely shaped bags- anything that’s not the normal square tote or rectangular clutch, if you will. This See by Chloe Sand Glazed Suede Bag fits the bill quite nicely. While it’s not magnificently sculptural or completely out-of-this-world (like perhaps a dodecahedron bag would be… oh come, I can dream, can’t I?), it has a shape not normally seen.

It’s a play on the normal mini-messenger cross body, sure, but it reminds me of a specialized hard binocular case. Do you see it? I guess this See by Chloe bag is partly for all the fashionista bird-watchers out there, and those who envy the cute shape of their binocular bags. Well, most likely that’s not the case, but it’s fun to think of it in that way.

Ever have one of those awful moments where you realize that you really like something that incorporates a trend to which you had formerly been completely and utterly opposed? I’m having one of those over the Marc by Marc Jacobs Slouchy Perforated Hobo, and let me tell you – at least you all don’t have to publicly eat your words over it.

Which is exactly what I plan to do – it looks like it actually is possible to make a bag that’s (partially) perforated that doesn’t look completely like a basketball jersey. Color me surprised.

Let's be best friends.
