As I’ve said in this space time and again, I’m usually not one who has trouble being decisive, especially when it comes to whether or not I like a bag. I look at them all day, every day, so the evaluation process happens pretty quickly.

Mansur Gavriel Spring Summer 2016 Collection

Last night we had the pleasure of attending Mansur Gavriel‘s first-ever New York Fashion Week presentation, and the expansion that the brand unveiled was befitting of the venue. Not only were four new bags shapes to accompany the brand’s beloved bucket bags and totes, but there were new colors, materials and a whole bunch of shoes.

We’re still in the thick of New York Fashion Week, which, as you well know by now, is often more interesting outside the shows than inside them. Vlad is documenting the best handbag looks he sees on show attendees every day, but handbags find themselves front-and-center in lots of general street style photos, too.

It looks like the Prada Inside Bag is primed to be a popular celeb choice for Fall 2015. It’s only recently been made available to Prada’s loyal following, both celeb and mere mortal, but I expect we’ll be seeing a fair bit of it from now through September.

NYFW Street Style SS16 Day 4

We kicked off our New York Fashion Week street style coverage yesterday by sharing the best bags of days 2 and 3. Today, we are sharing the best bags Vlad snapped from day 4 with you.

Why It’s the Bag of the Week: This shoulder bag is a little bit glam, a little bit rock-n-roll and big enough to add a lot of personality to your daytime look.

Salvatore-Ferragamo-Lenny-Python-Mixed-Leather-Geometric-Sandal Over on TalkShoes, we’re crushing on a geometric, one-of-a-kind, statement-making sandal from Salvatore Ferragamo that also happens to be our Shoe of the Week! As for our celebrity shoe-spotting, Jessica Alba wore a trusty pair of over-the-knee boots from Stuart Weitzman on Good Morning America late last week. We also spotted Chrissy Teigen stepping out on a drizzly NYC day in a pair of towering Saint Laurent booties. We wish were as brave as Chrissy!

Alexander Wang has always been a designer who played up his industrial aesthetic leanings, and after a few seasons of flirtation with tech-influenced streetwear, Spring 2016 has brought the designer back to his roots for his eponymous brand’s tenth anniversary collection.

At the end of July, actress Jane Birkin announced that she wanted the iconic Hermès bag she inspired renamed until the brand improved its treatment of crocodiles. Hermès was quick to address her concerns, and now the brand has announced that she’s withdrawn her request.

Jessica Simpson loves handbags. We’ve all known that since she made her white Louis Vuitton Multicolore Speedy famous on The Newlyweds while I was still in high school, and although she’s transitioned from singer/reality star to businesswoman in the intervening years, her accessories obsession as not budged.
