The windup to the holidays is in full swing, Roundup readers, so how are you holding up? This week, we dropped into Dior and Mulberry and considered the ups and downs of the holidays in the Health and Fitness subform. Read More…
On November 14th, Alicia’s best friend Diem Brown lost her long battle with cancer. We shot this feature a few days before Diem passed away, and in it, Alicia speaks of Diem, who she calls her Earth Angel.
Diem founded MedGift.com, a site dedicated to financially supporting those suffering a health-related hardship, and we want to help her dream come true.
Whether you love ‘em or hate ‘em, one thing is for sure: the Kardashian family wardrobe is on point (I suppose that’s one of the many perks of celebrity stardom). We’ve already taken a look at her impressive bag collection, and now it’s time to delve into a different area of her closet: Khloé Kardashian’s extensive shoe selection.
Over on TalkShoes, we have yet to cover any members of the Kardashians klan, but it felt right to start things off with Khloé’s bold style. (Kim might be more famous, but her shoes aren’t as much fun–she wears mostly Alaïa and Hérmes sandals as of late.) Whether Khloé is teetering around in a pair of towering Louboutins or kicking back in a pair of Timberlands, her style ranges from casual to ladylike to extravagant; that’s notable for someone who can get their hands (or feet) into anything she pleases.
Below, scroll through the many shoes of Khloe Kardashian, and don’t forget to check out TalkShoes on the daily for more shoes news.

While the brand’s popularity has undoubtedly ebbed since an event that I will refer to as Peak Phantom Luggage Tote, models still have lots of love for their treasured Céline bags. Models across the US were seen carrying Céline bags in droves this week; when they weren’t carrying Saint Laurent, of course. These two brands are apparently at the top of the list of the four or five approved brands that models are allowed to carry this season. (Others would include Chanel, Givenchy and whichever brand has them on the payroll.)
The number of full handbag collections that Chanel puts out ever year is insane; as soon as one lands in stores, you can be that the next is on its way, complete with a new theme and variations on some aspect of global live. For Chanel Cruise 2015, Dubai was the inspiration, and those Middle Eastern-inspired bags are in a boutique near you this very minute. Below, we’ve got photos and prices. Read More…
We write about very expensive things with great regularity around here, so, to a certain extent, we’re all desensitized when it comes to expensive consumer goods. It’s hard to shock us, but when we started hunting for items to include in our annual gift guide series, it became clear that retailers have really upped the ante when it comes to gifts so expensive that they make you go cross-eyed.
There’s a long tradition of retailers pulling out all the stops in their gift selections as a marketing device to situate themselves as the most exclusive destination to buy less expensive (but still fabulous) things. The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book is the most and beloved of these tactics, but in the age of the Internet and of ever-expanding online luxury retail, now everyone’s got to keep up.
From our research, it seems like Moda Operandi has all its extravagant competitors beat by a mile; it’s the only site that has a selection of gifts that cost in excess of a million dollars, in addition to tons more in the five- and six-figure range. Moda’s entire gift guide has to be seen to be believed, and we’ve pulled the best pieces from it, in addition to other online retailers, for your perusal below.
If you’re joining us from most of the continental US, you may have noticed something yesterday: oh my gosh it is so cold outside. It’s starkly freezing today too, and these days are only going to become more frequent over the next few months. We suggest combining that with lots of hot toddies and beautiful outerwear, and we’re here to help. At least when it comes to the coats, that is. All hot toddy recipes welcome in the comments.
yoox.com occupies a very particular place in the online shopping world: the site specializes in the one that got away. Whether it’s Miu Miu runway shoes that you shouldn’t have passed up on sale last season or a Dolce & Gabbana coat that appeared in your favorite editorial of the past decade, you might be able to find it (at a discount) in the incredible designer archive that is yoox.com.
We all have those dream pieces that nag at us, and that’s why we’ve teamed up with yoox.com to make that dream come true for one reader. Enter from now through November 26 at 11:59pm EST and you might win a gift card for $1,500 to go on a little shopping spree. You’ll finally know what it feels like to chase down the one that got away.
[Giveaway open to US residents ages 18 and older, one entry per person.]
