Whether or not you believe that clothing and accessories can qualify as art, you have to look at the Balenciaga Metallic Crocodile Wristlet and see, first and foremost, an art object. It’s uses (and, most likely, it’s production) are decidedly limited, but if I was to get my hands on it, I think I’d probably just hold it and stare at it anyway. The crocodile skin is treated in such a way that it almost reminds me of mother of pearl – it’s shiny, but in a way that does a beautiful job picking up the colors and the light around them, making the bag look eternally different. It’s finished with polished blue-green accents, which might be either polished stone or lucite, it’s impossible to tell, and a bold box-chain wrist strap. It doesn’t look like it would hold much, and I’m sure it costs an arm and a leg, but it’s just so stinkin’ beautiful that I don’t really care. Where do I sign up?

It is beautiful, but I would probably be too nervious to carry it. I am sure it is a small fortune.

The finish on that leather is TDF. Love the pearly finish. Croc kind of creeps me out (I have a really bizarre fear of crocs), but the design is cool. I’d love to know what this costs.
I like Balenciaga handbags…but this one is expensive and has more glamour for my style….

oh no, Bal! No, I can’t say I like it. The colors are GORGEOUS though, but the bag itself, no. I think the chain might turn me off. But other than that, it’s pretty unique but the colors are divine. But this bag is not for me, I’m sure the other ladies here can look hot in it, though.
This wristlet is absolutely beautiful! I’m usually not into the animal/crocodile print but that mother of pearl effect just does it for me. I’m in awe…
This definitely is a wristlet for her ,who already has everything money can buy. I like it too, but would change the blue&green parts.

I just saw a similar (nicer) one at Barney’s (60th and Madison) 2 days ago. It has the coolest handle-also shiny croc, but more taupe color. It is $13,500. I love it. If I strike it rich-I would hot foot it right over to Barney’s and buy it and just look at it! Stunning!
