One of my favorite things on PurseBlog is our “The Many Bags of…” series, in which we’ve featured some of the most astounding handbag collections from all kinds of celebrities. Recently, we’ve expanded the series to include the favorite bags of fashion insiders, like the staffs of Lucky Magazine and Elle.com.
Many of you have been asking for me to share my collection, and today I am sharing Part 1 of The Many Bags of Megs. As you may remember, we recently moved, and all of my bags aren’t out of storage quite yet. There will be a Part 2 to this series coming, and as my collection expands, probably more parts after that.
For now, here are some of my favorite bags in my collection to date–exotics, special orders, incredible sale finds, contemporary pieces and everything in between.
Hermès 30 cm Blue Jean Togo Birkin
I had to start with the Blue Jean Hermès Birkin. This bag is 30cm in Togo leather and was my first Hermès bag. After I bought it, I had a stomach ache all night and didn’t carry it for three months out of fear. True story.
Hermès 35 cm Black Clemence Birkin
Speaking of Hermès, my next major purchase was my Black Clemence 35 cm Hermès Birkin, which has quickly become one of my favorites. The size is great and I finally became comfortable carrying it often and even letting it show some wear. (That’s a big deal for me, even if it’s a small deal in life.)
Balenciaga Giant City in Anthracite
$1,985 via Neiman Marcus
It’s kind of hard to believe, but I only have one Balenciaga City Bag. I adore this bag and color and the rose gold hardware is the icing on the handbag cake.
Céline Trapeze
Man, when I got hit with the Céline bug, I got hit hard. The bags are so mass now, but I love the Trapeze because it still is a little more of an underground favorite–at least compared to the Céline Luggage Tote.
Bottega Veneta Special Order Knot Clutches
Shop Bottega Veneta via Net-A-Porter
I’m beyond lucky; I have not one, but two special order Bottega Veneta Knot Clutches. The first one is in black kurung lizard, and the second was this amazing plum ostrich. Someone needs to invite me to more fancy events so I can show them off, or I could just be like the Kardashians and carry it during the day and pretend it fits my daily essentials.
Bottega Veneta Special Order Knot Clutch in Black Karung
Shop Bottega Veneta via Net-A-Porter
You can see that I did carry my Knot Clutch during the day once, a la the Kardashians, so call me a hypocrite. Also, there’s me and Vlad. Hi Vlad!
Proenza Schouler Crocodile PS1
Shop Proenza Schouler via Neiman Marcus
I don’t think I’ll ever, ever, ever get a better deal. And if I do, remind me to buy a lotto ticket, too.
Hermès Kelly Wallet in Orange Alligator
Another exotic! This Hermès Kelly Wallet in Orange Alligator was ridiculously expensive, and I don’t use it much. I need to.
Coach Borough
Shop via Coach.com
My first designer bag was a Coach bag, and when I got this Borough bag, I carried it so much I expected it to fall apart. Not one seam has even loosened a little, though. I adore this bag.
Celine Triptyque
You’ll see a few Céline bags in this post, but I feel like no one else has this bag, and because of that, I love it that much more. I didn’t start a trend though, because after I got it I still didn’t see many people with it. Their loss.
Salvatore Ferragamo Tote in Raffia and Python
Shop Ferragamo via Bloomingdale’s
Louis Vuitton Speedy in Damier Ebene 30cm
$970 via Louis Vuitton
This bag works in all weather conditions. Also, I know I bought it for much less than the current price. Just saying.
Chanel Reissue
Vlad surprised me and took me to Chanel to pick out a bag for my birthday a couple years ago. I came home with this baby, and she’s pretty, soft and lovely in every way. Also, I’ve over-worn these shoes; they’ll make many appearances in this post.
Balenciaga Straw Tote
Shop Balenciaga via Neiman Marcus
I bought a Balenciaga Straw Bag because it is so different. Ask me how often I carry it…
The Row Classic Shoulder Bag in Python
Shop The Row via FarFetch
Mary Kate and Ashley know how to create stunning bags, and this bag is a personal favorite in my collection. Also, I love my Fendi Bag Bug more than an adult should.
PurseBlog x Mackage Nomad Bag
Shop Mackage via Bloomingdale’s
I helped create this bag, so it will always be a favorite. I’m totally biased, but I think I did a great job.
Proenza Schouler PS1 and Clutch
Shop Proenza Schouler via Neiman Marcus
I got these at the Proenza Schouler sample sale, and that was quite an ordeal for me, but now that the memory of the wait has faded, I love these two bags.
Chanel Boy Bag
When I shared this bag, some people told me they thought it looked dirty. I think it’s lovely, which is why I picked it; however, I have to be careful about wearing denim with it.
Salvatore Ferragamo Fiamma
$4,500 via Salvatore Ferragamo
The Fiamma was a huge push for Ferragamo, and I have been carrying this particular bag for the past month exclusively.
Gucci Disco Bag
$895 via Gucci
I. LOVE. THIS. BAG.
J. Mendel Midi Clutch
$1,650 via Barneys
Most of the bag brands in my collection very well-known, but I try to look for new brands when I can. J. Mendel got it right with his bags, and this bag proves it.
Céline Nano Luggage Tote
I know these bags are a tad over-played, but the Nano size is so great.
Celine Luggage Mini Tote
This hue of Cobalt Blue makes my heart go pitter-patter. Also, here’s another look at my Triptyque.
Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy
When I look to buy anything from Louis Vuitton now, I always try to find a Limited Edition piece or something a bit outside of the typical LV items.
Céline Trio
I have these two Trios and I combine them for a little flair to change things up. You’d be surprised how much these bags can actually carry; I always am.
Gucci Bamboo Shopper
$2,290 via Gucci
This bag is a go-to in my collection, always has been and always will be.
Chanel Boy Bag
What can be more feminine and girly than a hot pink Chanel Boy Bag?
