Mulberry Ostrich Bayswater

Mulberry Ostrich Bayswater

This is an entirely late start to our day here at Purse Blog. Amanda was off this week as she is moving, Shannon is getting ready to move to California next week, and I am recovering from surgery. That leaves Vlad and you all know he is not much of a Purse Blog poster (though he does showcase the most amazing handbag photography!). And that is why we are way late today.

I have always had a thing for the Mulberry Bayswater. I did see a ponyhair up close and was disappointed, the body did not hold its shape very well like I imaged the Bayswater would. But leather is completely different from a thinner pony hair body and I crave seeing this bag in person. The tan Mulberry Ostrich Bayswater is offset with a gold-tone signature plaque fastening at the front. This rendition is exclusive to Net-A-Porter and one of those perfectly chic yet not overly feminine bags. It looks strong yet simple. The shape is similar to a Hermes Birkin which is a highly coveted shape. Mulberry bags have a large following and the Bayswater is their most known style. Is this the Bayswater for you? Buy through Net A Porter for $2795.

Thanks for posting on this bags, Megs!! I have been positively drooling over the ostrich Bayswater for a while now, and especially covet it in the gorgeous rouge noir that Mulberry is featuring…it’s an amazing deep purple. Too bad it’s waaaaaay out of my price range. Hope you feel better soon!!

I love the look of the bag as well. But it is too expensive for me. But stunning.

this is the only mulberry bag that i like…but i prefer the ostrich skin in more fun colors, because the shape of the bayswater is so simple and classic!

Sorry, but Mulberry bags in person look real bad. The leather is rough. They look cheap and are not well made. But this is only my opinion. I too hope that you are feeling better,Megs !

Very nice bag. I think it’s elegant enough to be worn daily but also classy enough to be worn at night. A bit expensive though in my opinion.

  11. Mette – The only one I saw up close and personal I was not super impressed with, I was actually rather let down. The body of the bag was totally limp. I am hoping to see a leather version and see what I think

Nope, anything that translate from the Hermes Birkin – is intellectual property – using the term loosely. It translates like ‘ i can’t wait/afford the real stuff so i’m gonna buy the next thing similar.’ I would rather buy another style just as iconic.

i don’t like it, it’s too similar to birkin that it’d might look like a knock off beside it..
