Mulberry Postman’s Lock Leather Bag, $1200 via Net-a-Porter.

As I’ve mentioned ad nauseum, I’m a little obsessed with hands-free bags at the moment. Major lifestyle changes require careful accessories planning, no matter how silly that sounds, and my collection needs a few more light, compact crossbodies like the Mulberry Postman’s Lock Leather Bag as soon as possible. This bag is already a strong contender for my affections because of the separate pocket on the front – perfect for easy cell phone access.

We all know that I’d want a different color, of course, because of my deep-seated aversion to tan. I’d also prefer a few functional changes: If the top zippers could extend a bit further down the sides of the bag for a wider opening, that would be much appreciated, as would a lighter lining. My keys always manage to slide to the bottom, no matter how small a bag might be, and beige canvas instead of chocolate brown makes a world of difference. Mulberry is headed in the right direction with this design, and it’s an aesthetic winner for sure. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1200.

I think it’s cute and much, much better than the mini Alexa (and I loooove the Alexa) but I still doubt that I can live with a bag that small. Also, I find it rather expensive, unless that’s real croc that the bag is made of.

I just bought the mini Alexa in that pretty watermelon color. I LOVE this new bag. It’s a great style–I agree with all your functional changes. That would totally make it better. And yes, WHY is this one so expensive. Quite a bit more than Mulberry’s other minis. But I’m thinking if the croc were real, it would be even more.

It looks nicer on the N-a-P website. Nice size (I’m petite and dislike huge bags). Nice hardware and handle detail. Looks very functional.

That is gorgeous. I am right into hands free too.

It’s gorgeous and I would die for it

I honestly agree with everything you said in your review, Amanda. Need hands-free (preferably with an additional handle), don’t do tan, like wide openings. And yet, I, like you, am interested in this bag.

It’s cute but I can’t see myself purchasing it.

It weighs a ton IMO. Not practical for me.

Love it! And I couldn’t agree more that major life changes require accessory changes! =)

Its a VERY cute bag, but for something that I would need to pack my entire day into, I would need to be bigger.

  • Vicky

I think it’s cute but doubt for practicality of it. Too wide opening, all stuff may fall off if leave zip open. Too narrow, my hands and stuff get scratched everytime I want something in there. I guess I need to try it on. :P

Personally, Mulberry have hiked up the price of their bags so much and therefore considering this bag is FAUX snakeskin I just can’t and won’t justify the price for such a small bag.
