Miu Miu Patent Square Tote

What was your first Miu Miu purchase? Actually, come to think of it, I don’t own a Miu Miu handbag… yet. As much as I love handbags, I tend to error on the side of purchasing once I am totally sure I want it. I consider almost all of my handbags investment pieces and I love that most of them have a unique story behind them. When I came across the Miu Miu Patent Square Tote I couldn’t decide if this would be in the running for my first Miu Miu purchase or not. For those of you who know me, you know that I am a tad skeptical when it comes to white handbags. But, I truly love something about this goldtone hardware on white patent combination. At the same time, there is a sense of freshness about this bag. It’s chic, fun, and versatile. Yet, is it enough to be my first Miu Miu? Any other suggestions? Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1995.

I’m always leary of white bags… but if I were to choose a white (or shade of white) bag from Miu Miu it would definitely be this one!

That bag is fabulous! I am obsessed with the gold hardware. I always lust after miu miu bags, but I never pull the trigger. This one might be worth actually purchasing though!

i think miu miu has done better handbags..plus i don’t think it’s worth 2k! nah definetely not an investment bag..

The question is, if this were not a Miu Miu bag – same quality – would you still want it? White bags, to me, are like white flip flops. You need to have an understanding ahead of time that it should be used on very rare occasions and at some point in the future if it was used more than twice, you will loose affection for it because it won’t look as crisp. If you have the money to burn, snap it up if it’s what you LOVE. If not you might want to wait. LAPOE (lapoebags.info)

Miu Miu is fabulous, but I’d pass on this particular bag. A couple of reasons – first, the plisse effect and patent leather combination ruins the trademark softness of Miu Miu’s leather. Second, too much gold tone hardware encumbers the bag with so much weight even before you put anything in it! I have a rectangular leather tote from Miu Miu (featured in PurseBlog in May 2007) and before buying it, I did a thorough “background check” and “test drive”. Take your time in deciding. Miu Miu makes great bags (almost) EVERY season! I hope you take the Miu Miu plunge soon!

Pretty, but I’m not sure that I would buy it at this price. ( I have a phobia when it comes to white bags anyway!).

i like the shape the best! the shape is usally the most important factor for me then color and other things

Oh gosh….Miu Miu….i am just waiting for the time to get my hands on a Miu Miu. I’m thinking and thinking, just to be sure, if it is the ‘ONE’. I wish the design above came in a cream clr instead, it be so much better.

Not living in US we dont have the whole labour day thing and in Greece we have 5months of summer so white is definitely a handbag colour worth having, However i would really do my research before picking a white bag as we dont tend to buy many different alternatives. This Miu Miu wouldnt be the one i would go for as i wouldnt want to limit myself with gold hardware plus im not gonna give 2k and wait and see if its gonna lose its crisp white colour. What has been tried and tested for me is the Balenciaga city in white. Its totally fantastic and its a creamy shade of white so it never looks faded.

Fuchsiafury makes some very valid points. The added gold tone hardware does add weight and I for,one don’t care for heavy bags. However, I’m not afraid of the white color. In fact, my very first MIU MIU is a bow satchel in Cera. I consider it a winter white and it has maintained its beauty and durability.

Don’t do it. It’s pretty but will end up looking old VERY fast. Plus I think it’s harder to tell with white if you’ve opted for a cheap or an expensive leather, so I recommend buying ANY white with gold hardware piece, you can get a new one every summer and not feel guilty.

Miu miu bags are great. this is nice too…but not worth the money i think. if u want to own a nice, classy, sexy white bag then u must check out chopard!! their white bag is just soooo classy. i cant remember the name…but my friend has one and u can check their website…

I bought bag in black leather 2 months ago in geneva…it was as they say in french coup de foudre – love at first sight! I get compliments every time i carry it.!
The goldware does add a but of weight but i normally dont carry much so its ok It comes with a fuschia lining which i think looks great in contrast to the black and gold..love it!
