Did you wear a little green for St. Paddy’s day today? This is one of the holidays that I think everyone likes to partake in. I mean really, who doesn’t like to drink a lot of green beer and tell random strangers to kiss them since they are “Irish”?

Instead of the green sweater I wore today, I would have liked to wear this gorgeous Michael Kors Pleated Crepe Maxi Skirt and with it I would have paired the Michael Kors Buckled Leather Shoulder Bag.

I am tall and hence I have the right body for maxi skirts. You have to be blessed with good height or a good weight-to-height ratio to pull off a maxi skirt. It is not for everyone, just like all pieces do not work on every body type (trust me, there are tons that do not work on me).

Right in time for the bold color blocking trend, this Michael Kors pleated skirt looks beautiful on the runway and on the model. I’d like to think that it would look just as good on me. Two downsides: the price is $1,195 and it is sold out at NAP right now.

Now on to the bag, which is of course the important accessory. I am not always drawn to white or cream bags, but when I see one that catches my eye, I typically start to swoon. That is just what happened to me with this Michael Kors bag. While his bags don’t attract my attention often, when Michael Kors makes a good bag, he really makes a great bag.

The gold buckled straps help break up the design and not make the two front pockets appear outdated, as they many appear on most bags. This bag is clean, crisp, and refined while the long shoulder strap allows a bit of a casual touch to the finished product.

This Spring you need to have bold statement pieces in your wardrobe and a nice neutral bag to pull the look together. I want both of the above pieces. Buy the bag via NAP for $895.

While the bag is quite beautiful, I can’t justify spending $900 on a white/off white bag because I’ll probably dirty it within a few days of using it. White bags attracts dirt… :(

      agreed…..

    Love it!!

I love the style of the bag, but would prefer it in a different color..

Forget the bag, that skirt is divine!!

TDF! I want it..but i saw a similar design today at Target..just missing all the hardware

The skirt is great and I love the idea of pairing a slouchy long-strapped bag with it, but I’m afraid of white bags and the hardware reminds me of the watch my grandma always wears.

Amazing! Everything is amazing: that versatile cream color against the gold hardware, that perfect white blouse on the model and that beautiful kelly green skirt. Omg. I know you may not love MK, but he is seriously one of my favourite out there!

I don’t like the look of the two pieces together…better apart in different outfits.

The bag is very casual and would go better with maybe jeans or even shorts, but is not the right proportion for the dress. Also the shoes are not right for this outfit.

The MK bag is cute but better in luggage or black.

    Love the combo.

Hi! I like the way you paired the bag with the skirt. Very refreshing. I’ve written about my wife’s Michael Kors Tote as well. You may want to read it if you like. Its at http://theeveryguyblog.wordpress.com/ I’ll be sure to follow your blog for the latest trends.
