You all know how great it is to have a staple in your wardrobe. Whether it is that little black dress, your favorite pair of jeans or a sweater that hugs your curves in all the right places, there is something you just can’t live without. As many handbags as any of us have, for the most part, I think there is probably one we reach to more often than others. There is that handbag that works for so many occasions, holds up well, and looks great. The Michael Kors Id Chain Tote is definitely a contender in the staple handbag category. Now, not only can you have a new go-to handbag, but you can also be on the cutting edge! There are limited quantities of this handbag and it can be pre-ordered from the Resort 2009 collection. The slouchy leather tote has a gathered drawstring top, beautiful chain detailing which extends from the base of the handles to the bottom of the bag. And of course, there are several pockets, plenty of room for anything you need to carry around and the leather – GORGEOUS! I love the fact that someone in their 20s could be seen carrying it just as someone in their 60s might. When handbags can cross generations, you know you have a great bag on your hands. Yes, it will set you back a bit, but since this purse will stand the test of time, I think it is a worthwhile investment. Buy through Nordstrom for $1495.

Hmm. ‘Stand the test of time’ – I completely disagree. The style is reminiscent of one of Gucci’s staple totes. As well as Chanel’s Modern Chain line. In the aspect of wearability, I agree that this tote would be fitting for a 20something to grab and go but not someone in their 60s. Only IMO.

totally agreed about it looking just like Chanel’s modern chain. I haven’t seen the Gucci version, but I expected more from Michael! I love his designs…but the bag is cute, but not for me. Very stylish though.

It is stylish but does remind me of Chanel also.

It’s a cute bag and the leather looks soft and slouchy but I’d like it a lot more without those chains. By the way, it must weight a ton with all that hardware.

Really? I love this tote! Of course, I am a bit of MK fan… I think this bag looks very versatile and don’t hate on the “chanel resemblance” there are tons of other examples as well of everyone copying everyone.

I just bought a michael kors beverly drawstring satchel in black from nordstrom…on sale for $650!!! (original price is $1395 I think). I want to know what people think of this bag. I’ve never bought any mk stuff but I like how the bag is slouchy and soft.
    Any comment on the style?

I also bought a marc jacobs stella in dark plum at nordstrom.

Anyone can help me with which bag to keep?

if there’s one thing MK gets right, it’s the slouchy supple leather- just that is enough to get me to buy this bag, though i am not a fan of metal hardware or detailing
