Marc Jacobs Tasha and Blondie Handbags

There was a time when being associated with the 80’s was a fashion faux pas. But today when I sport a somewhat side ponytail and leggings I know that the 80’s are back in style. Honestly, I love the 80’s and now finally am appreciating the so-called style associated with it. Marc Jacobs tends to stick to the basics, but two of the bags for fall are styled after the 80’s and I am certain not everyone will want to pull it off (much like other 80’s styles). The Marc Jacobs Collection Tie Tasha combines 80’s flair with its soft supple leather two oversized double-color ties. While at Bergdorf Goodman, I tried this beauty on and realized 2 things: first it is not made for everyone- it is really different, second is that I love it and want it for me!! ;-) This bag is oversized, 19″ x 14″ x 2.5″ and is accented with golden brass hardware and a golden brass chain shoulder strap. Like I mentioned before, the ties are what make this bag what it is. The two-toned ties are black and green and add the 80’s touch to this bag. So if you miss the days of neon and leggings and the unforgettable side-pony, this bag may suit you perfectly. Buy it through eLuxury for $1950. Also there is a smaller size, the Marc Jacobs Collection Tie Blondie, available in brandy with double top handles for $1850 via eLuxury.

Marc Jacobs Striped Hudson Bag

Marc Jacobs Striped Hudson Bag

Many times explaining the beauty of something needs nothing more than an image. Maybe it is the lighting, but I would have to believe that this handbag is actually more stunning in person than it looks in the picture. The Marc Jacobs Striped Hudson Bag is made from supple dark brown leather and is accented with tonal leather striped trim. The stripes add the perfect element to this simple and elegant bag. Golden hardware is paired with the double top handles with rings along with a push-lock closure. Adding a little more dimension is the inverted pleat on the front. If only I weren’t broke. Buy one of the new hottest bags via Bergdorf Goodman for $1275.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Embroidered Veruka Shopper

When Marc released the first bag with the funky little lady, stores sold out of her odd smiling face quickly. Now Marc has a new lady on the front of this tote and she is sure to be a hit for any fashionista. This lady is wearing a crooked smile along with a lace fitted dress. Ha the combination makes me laugh.

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Embroidered Veruka Shopper is a cotton shopper tote that has tie shoulder straps and a snap closure. Measuring 17″ x 17″, this tote is perfect for summer fun and the Veruka is sure to keep you company. On the inside there is a pouch pocket. Starting off the 4th of July with red is this shopper available via eLuxury for $178.

Marc Jacobs Leather HandbagSo I am going to keep reiterating the fact that I am now a City girl. I love it I must say. It does get hectic and many times I do really wonder, “do people sleep here?” but it is so much fun nonetheless. With summer we need some glam and I definitely need some glam in such a fashionable city. The Marc Jacobs Exclusive Metallic Leather Tote radiates with metallic silver and beige leather on this practical tote. Unlike so many other trims for bags, this bag features green-blue trim and is accented with gold hardware. I have a thing for this bag because it is not too over the top and nice that I would worry about taking it to work and it is not too under-done for my liking. Adding a little extra is the Marc plaque on the front along with the buckle detail on both sides of the plaque. On the inside there is white canvas lining along with an internal pocket. I think this bag would keep me young while living the SATC life in NYC. Available via Net-A-Porter for $650.

Marc by Marc Jacobs: Battle of the Shoes

Today is all about the feet and what covers them. I have always been a flip-flop girl, but with age comes the professional world and in that world no shoes, no shirt *is* a problem. It is more than just one kind of problem, because the world of shoes can be very expensive. But I know I love to indulge. Today is the battle of the designer shoes. Which design gets your vote from each designer? First we have some beautiful flats from the Marc by Marc Jacobs line.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Suede Flat with Python Print Leather

First we have the beautiful and ornate Marc by Marc Jacobs Suede Flat with Python-Print Leather. While these flats have a lot going on, it is the perfect amount in my eyes. The light blue suede with python-print leather trim is exotic and sultry. Better yet, the shoe has a round toe with scalloped cutout detail and gold piping which offsets the suede and python-print. Sometimes I am not sure why I love the busy look, but this shoe just kind of gets me and looks really chic in my eyes. Finishing off these flats is a 1″ python-print leather covered heel. Available for $310 via eLuxury.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Velvet and Patent Flat

But in a battle, there has to be an opponent. On the other side of this so-called-battle is the refined and polished Marc by Marc Jacobs Velvet and Patent Flat. While the first flat seems more like a shoe to be worn for fun with the girls or to flirt with the guys ;-) the latter seems to be a shoe to dress up. This flat is made with sumptuous navy plush velvet and is trimmed with patent leather. To add a girly touch, there is a patent leather bow over the rounded tow. These Marc flats are available via eLuxury for $295.

But the ultimate question is which flat would you pick? These two beauties could easily make your feet be the center of attention, but let’s see who wins the Battle of the Shoes.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Eyelet Leather Wristlet

Marc by Marc Jacobs Eyelet Leather WristletI recently read that the handbag industry is booming. Well duh, I could have told you that. But along with a booming industry comes skyrocketing prices. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming. Personally, I can’t afford this industry all the time. I’d love to buy every bag that I love, but I unfortunately did not win the lotto last night, so this option is not feasible. What is feasible is a practical wristlet that is in a totally affordable range. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Eyelet Leather Wristlet is small, cute, and affordable. Designed from dusty red soft washed leather and accented with brass eyelets, this wristlet is perfect for small accessory wear. Honestly who does not need a wristlet or two or 15? We all need at least one because it makes life on the go or a night out so much easier. The leather wrist strap only adds more fun with brass links and eyelets. There is a small patch pocket under the flap and the wristlet shows off a coin-purse frame. Upon opening it, you will find floral print cotton lining. Measuring a mere 5″ x 4″ x 1″, this wristlet would be able to hold your keys, credit cards and ID, cash, and your cellie (that is of course if it is a Razr or something similar in size). Small but cute and feasible, buy this little accessory by Marc for $128 through eLuxury.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Miss Marc Faridah Bag

I think I blinked and then this bag was gone. I kept meaning to post about it, but eLux has not re-stocked! What do you all think of the bag? This is the fun and crazy Marc by Marc Jacobs Miss Marc Faridah Bag. What I can tell you is that Little Miss Marc looks how I feel right about now. This bag would be perfectly fun for a day of errands or a day where you too feel like Little Miss Marc. What are your thoughts? :-)

(And someone let me know if it becomes available again!!)

Marc by Marc Jacobs Soft Metallic Leather Fran Bag

Metallic is not out. Seems to me like it won’t be out for a while (seeing that Gucci used it all over the runway for fall/winter). Today is the day of Mr. Marc for all of us; sit back, relax, and enjoy his beautiful bags. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Soft Metallic Leather Fran Bag is glamorous and can be worn dressy or casual. There is something about the soft bronze metallic leather that gives off a perfect amount of glimmer and gold. This tote is flat but still has room for storage with its zipped front pocket and large front pocket. Carry this bronze beauty with topstitched leather shoulder straps with a 9.5″ drop. Closing with a brass pull for the zip top, this bag opens up to show off an inside pocket and floral twill lining. Measuring 15″ (at base) x 13″ x 2″, this bag is available via eLuxury for $278.
