We are never huge fans of nylon bags at PurseBlog. In certain situations I can completely understand why it is the best option, but typically, it is not a material I would choose. Yet sometimes a designer finds a way to combine nylon with other materials and make it appealing. That is what the Marc Jacobs Rubik Quilted Debbie Mini Bag brings us, a combination of materials on a cute design.

We are Marc Jacobs fan girls (ok, mostly Amanda is) and many of his designs are both playful and beautiful. The mini bag style is very on trend right now. But the mini bag is not for everyone. The silhouette on Saks wearing this bag is 5’5″, which can give you an idea how it would look on you. With my being so tall, I tend to stray away from mini bags. But that is all personal preference.

Let’s get to the rest of the details of this bag. It is available in both black and purple. Purple is one of my favorite colors on handbags. It works well with blacks, blues, tans, and neutrals. The bag itself is very reminiscent of Marc Jacobs, with quilted nylon offset by pebble-textured leather. The crossbody strap has a 12.5″ drop and there is a top zip closure under a magnetic snap flap top. The measurements are 6¼”W X 6″H X 2½”D. This bag is little and lovely. Buy via Saks for $495.

Channeling the Chanel Mini Flap, isn’t it?

Normally I HATE the Chanel copying Marc CONSTANTLY does but the color here is so beautiful and bold that it is hard to fault the bag. This is the only chain bag from him that I have seen that I would buy.

The golden attachment and chain on the bag is so attracting, I love it so much!

This is a dead ringer for a Chanel bag, but I do love the color and the look.

It is as blah as Chanel. Pass me the bored detector!

Yeps, it’s Chanel-y, but I still love it! The chain strap and multiple textures are my fav parts. I’m usually not the biggest fan of chain straps, but I like when they’re interwoven with leather.

    great color, great design.

Oh my god Marc the chanel copying is getting rather embarassing.

I really love the colour of the bag. The size is a little bit much. I like my bags a bit bigger, but I can’t get over the colour. It’s gorgeous.
I am loving Marc Jacobs this year. I even did a post on how to get his style for less. Unfortunately not all of us can afford this pretty little bag. See my marc jacobs post here: http://www.realstylenetwork.com/index.php/2010/05/fashion-trends-inspired-by-fashion-designer-marc-jacobs-get-the-look-for-less/

I definitely agree that it’s channeling Chanel.. I half expected to see the double C logo on the front flap.. That being said I do love the bag. Great color. I don’t particularly like the Mini Bag Trend and would much rather see this in a full size..

I don’t get all of the hate on the mini-bag trend. It’s sooooo fresh to see something that’s not the size of a suitcase being peddled around! Not to mention, so much easier to carry. (my tired-preggo back says thank you!)

I love all the interesting elements of this bag. What a way to jazz up an otherwise basic outfit w only this FAB bag. And omg, do I ever need a bag w a chain strap like my life depended on it!!!
