What’s a man with a sense of style supposed to do for a carry-on? Often, men’s designer bags either skew too Ed Hardy or too feminine, and the task of finding one that’s luxurious, stylish and still a bit masculine is a bit more difficult than you think. Leather bags in particular seem too often to lean toward the womenswear side of the aisle, but not all men want to spend their luxury luggage dollars on nylon or canvas.

Enter the Lanvin Military Duffle Bag. This design strikes the perfect balance between macho and high-end, and the details are just “Lanvin” enough to be distinctive without looking like a woman should be carrying it.

Anyone who’s ever had the pleasure of fondling a Lanvin bag in person knows how inappropriately soft the brand’s leather always feels, and this bag gives you a healthy dose of it, plus Lanvin’s signature frayed edges. The unfinished elements are more often found in Lanvin’s ready-to-wear than its bags, but the careful use of the technique in this piece gives the bag a signature touch without interrupting the design’s feel of traditional masculinity. And the best part about men’s bags, of course, is that they’re mostly unisex – ladies can carry this travel piece just as easily as the boys. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $2290.

I understand the design for men, but I dont get $2290 ??? what is it made of?? beside it’s IMPORTED from ——.

It’s made from calf leather, and all “imported” means is that it wasn’t made in the US. None of Lanvin’s bags are made in America. IMO, the price isn’t out of line compared to Lanvin’s women’s offerings, which usually cost about the same for a much smaller bag.

THANK U Amanda !!! i’m so excited u replied my post. I still cant get over the price, but i like the bag though.

I dont think many men are willing to pay so much for a bag as women do.

I don’t like it. Too plain and drab.

I think if a man’s going to wear a bag that he should just go ahead and wear something beautiful. I love, love, love Johnny Weir’s bluefly commercial with his Balenciaga tree. He’s so adorable.

Thanks for the manbag post ! :D
And yes.. you have found the perfect manbag, well a shoulder strap would be nice, but its a much better option than a keepall or a gucci duffle !

  • Harry

Looks kind of cheap to be perfectly honest and I agree with max on the “Imported” issue. I work with handbags and almost 100% o the time when it is made it Italy, France or Turkey the country of origin is well advertised and almost bragged about. For $2290 I want one of these countries….Sorry! A Goyard Duffle makes more sense at this price point.
