The chain link trend is in. You may see the nautical theme on the runway, in clothing, as jewelry, or even on bags. While I was not a huge fan of the LV Patent Leather Cain Handbags, there is a little something about the Louis Vuitton Velvet Chain Pochette Rabat that I find appealing. This crazy little combo intertwines soft viscose thread chains on a cotton canvas body and brown leather trim. You can chose between the beige or red combo, but the red is so gaudy in my eyes that it kills any and all appeal of the bag. The bag closes with a flap closure and has a leather shoulder strap with a golden metallic chain link to finish off the link theme. For fall, this bag could look cute with some outfits, but I don’t see it as a practical everyday bag. But the biggest downside of this bag, other than the red option, is that measuring in at 9.4″ x 6.3″ x 3″ this bag is going to cost you a whopping $2140 through eLuxury.

Guess what, Megs did some shopping and her new bag arrived last night. No use in keeping it a big secret, I am sure that our avid readers already know what it is… you still wanna head over to the forum thread and check out the pictures I took this morning. Ok so I realize that I have been MIA for a while. My apologies. Work was taking over my life but now I won’t let it. To start off on the right foot with my paying more attention to the site, comes a purchase of a new bag. Yes, I had to do it Most and many are in the Speedy Club. Remember back in grade school when everyone got a Trapper-Keeper and you didn’t have a new hip one… well that is how left out I felt from the coveted LV Speedy. The Speedy boasts tons of exposure and is one of the most recognizable styles from LV. Right now, the Damier canvas Speedy’s are in stock and I just clicked on submit for my 30!!!

The Louis Vuitton Damier Canvas Speedy is trimmed in chocolate leather which flows perfectly with the Damier canvas. There is something about the Damier canvas that I love- very simple, but different in a way. The bag closes with a zip top and has a gold padlock. On the inside you will find red textile lining with a patch pocket to store some goodies. Available through eLuxury in the 25 (which measures 10″ x 7″) or through eLuxury in the 30 (which measures 12″ x 8″). I opted for the 30. After an amazing short trip to NYC with my mom and brothers, I am back at it. After spending the past few days int he city, I realized that I a) forgot to post my mom’s Mother’s Day gift b) need more cute clothes and c) do not own nearly the bag collection of most of the population of NYC. The only part of of that list that I can really change right now is (a). Sad, but that is all that is affordable (uploading pictures that I forgot about that is!) So, without further ado, I’d love to show you all my mom’s beautiful Louis Vuitton Epi Alma.

Originally, I planned to report on a new Louis Vuitton bag that I had seen while windowshopping two days ago on the Berlin Ku-Damm. For those who aren’t familiar with the Kurfuerstendamm, it’s the Berlin equivalent of NYC’s 5th Ave. All the top names in fashion have their stores lined up on the long strip leading away from the famous Gedaechtniskirche, a church that was bombed during World War 2 and was never restored (in order to serve as a monument reminding people of the terrible war). As I was in Berlin for only a good day, I didn’t have the time to actually check out what the exclusive fashion world had to offer all of us, but I sure did have the opportunity to check out what the store fronts had to offer. Sadly, I couldn’t find the Speedy that I saw in the showcase on LV’s site, instead I ran into this monstrosity of a bag.

This Louis Vuitton Speedy in Monogram Canvas sports a colorful, wide strip of suede fringes, each of which has several beads hanging off of it. Glass paste tube beads inset with gold leaves, lozenge in brown glass paste, grey pierrite, golden brass sphere, you name it. In addition to that, it has 8 LV signature charms dangling all over the place. Not a big fan… hideous. Rastafarian meets classic Vuitton. I’ll pass.

For some reason Louis Vuitton has been my designer of choice lately. While I wish that saying they are my designer of choice meant that I was buying their goods left and right, that is not the case. Rather I just want more of their products. Want is the key word there. Right now Vlad is in Berlin and I am hoping he will come back with a LV gift. Chances are no, but a girl can dream right? There is something simple yet elegant about the Louis Vuitton Antigua Sac Rabat. This satchel is inspired by one of my favorite tropical getaways, Antigua, and is easy to match and pair with many outfits. I am a jean and tee shirt kind of gal who likes to play dress up, and I am sure I could have this bag get good use. The blue canvas (my color of choice) is accented with contrasting straps and accented by polished gold brass hardware. The front shows off a fold-over flap with a double magnet closure which opens up to striped canvas lining. Finishing off this 9″ x 7″ x 2.7″ satchel is a logo plate which reads “Louis Vuitton Inventeur”. Ah-ha! I love this bag. Available through eLuxury for $500 (or it may be in Berlin at the LV store Vlad… hint hint )

For every brand there are a few signature bags that everyone seemingly knows and loves. For some reason my brain is not working great right now so my example is beyond obvious: What bag to you associate with Hermes? For all the wise-guys who didn’t say Birkin, you should be ashamed of yourselves for not taking my game seriously When it comes to Louis Vuitton there are a few signature bags that stick out in my head. The Speedy is one for sure, but so is the Alma. There are some beautiful Alma’s that can not go unnoticed right now.

The Louis Vuitton Damier Alma is an alluring shape with the chic Damier print and is accented with smooth ebony leather trim. This bag is the perfect size for work or fun measuring 12″ L x 9″ H x 7″ W. The Alma opens wide with a double zip top closure to show off terracotta canvas lining and a cell-phone and patch pocket. Add the Damier canvas to the Alma line via eLuxury for $835.

But if you are looking for no print or pattern and only simply divine leather, give your attention to the Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Alma. Available in myrtille or black/silver this Alma shows off gorgeous textured Epi leather and is accented with smooth leather trim. While the myrtille is gorgeous, the black/silver makes me go ga-ga. There is a full double zipper closure with a padlock which opens to alcantara lining along with a small inside pocket and cell phone pocket. This Alma also measures 12″ L x 9″ H x 7″ W, and looks like the perfect work bag to me. Buy it through eLuxury for $990.

Years ago I would have wanted to have nothing to do with the color pink. Pink equated to girlyness and I was more of the girl who refused to play softball but played baseball with the boys. Times have changed and little Miss Tomboy became quite the fashion forward accessory loving girly pink girl. So for some high fashion and pink color, Louis Vuitton is right there to grab any girl’s attention. The Louis Vuitton Baggy PM is made with a monogram denim canvas with natural cowhide trim. While this bag does come in denim, pink and green, the pink is getting my vote as of now. The inside of the bag is lined with the softest saffron microfiber. On the outside the gold-finished brass hardware, flat zipped pocket, and two front pockets with press-lock closures emanate as the focal points. The bag measures 11.7″ L x 8.6″ H x 5.1″ W. Louis Vuitton is a name that can never go unnoticed, and the pink denim just makes this brand appeal more to the inner-girl in all of us. Buy it through eLuxury for $1120.
