Yesterday I brought you news of Louis Vuitton advertising on the big screen. Many of you were not over-joyed by the idea. Well now you can really give your opinion because we have the clip ready to watch. The advertisement is not even known to be Louis Vuitton until the end, keeping it simple and classic during the run. But some are saying it is boring, and if this is so, Louis Vuitton has lost your interest before they even show that it is their commercial. Louis Vuitton on screen

On February 15th, Louis Vuitton will venture into a new realm, one that it does not even know. Moving from print Ads, Louis Vuitton will debut on screen showing a travel-themed 90 second television and movie theater advertisement. This clip is not focused on the celebrities, rather on travel, to bring Louis Vuitton lovers together world-wide. The advertisement was shot in France, Spin, India and Japan. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, described the advertisement as “the first ever on-screen corporate campaign by a luxury house.”

IN an unusual marketing move for a fashion and luxury goods brand, Louis Vuitton said Tuesday that it planned to advertise on television for the first time, with a travel-themed 90-second spot that was shot in France, Spain, India and Japan.

The campaign, which will start Feb. 15, will run on cable and satellite television channels and in movie theaters around the world, the company said. It shows ordinary people, rather than celebrities like Catherine Deneuve, Andre Agassi and Mikhail Gorbachev, who are featured in a current print campaign for the label.

Louis Vuitton, a unit of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, described the advertisement as “the first ever on-screen corporate campaign by a luxury house.”

High-end fashion brands and luxury goods companies have generally avoided television advertising, sticking mostly to magazines and, in some cases, newspapers.

Easy to clean, the Louis Vuitton Vernis line has become a LV favorite. The Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Bellevue PM sports triangular sides on the new (and perfect for Valentine’s Day I might add) Violette color. The vernis is monogram embossed patent leather and is accented with natural cowhide trim.

Louis Vuitton has done it again. They have made a bag that is pricey and highly sought after. Last time I was in Louis Vuitton Bal Harbour I ran into a member of Purse Forum. She was desperately looking for the Mahina, but they were out, as have been many Louis Vuitton boutiques. We reported on the Louis Vuitton Mahina when it was first released (dubbed the Louis Vuitton XL and XXL) and since then there has been Mahina mayhem. But the bags, both in XL and XXL are available in eLuxury right now. The XL costs $3100 while the XXL costs $3900. Told you, expensive, yet understated with the monogram LV and the large slouch. The Louis Vuitton Monogram Mini Lin collection has made a reappearance in blue and rouge for the Cruise 2008 line. My favorite piece from this line is the pair of open toe mules, which will look stunning with spring and summer whites. The Monogram Mini Lin has been made before in dune or ebene. I suppose the reason I am pleasantly surprised by the price of this agenda is because I own a Hermes Globe Trotter Agenda as does Vlad. Available in gold and white Suhali goat leather, the Louis Vuitton Suhali Agenda is the perfect carry around size, 4.1″x 5.6″, with a very sophisticated polish look. The inside of the agenda is also lined in leather and the golden brass hardware really gives a great touch to the agenda. And there is a feeling reminiscent of Louis Vuitton trunks, with their snapped flap closure, corners, and LV stamping around the perimeter. The inside also has two interior pockets. While my Hermes agenda is a zip agenda, this is just a snap closure. It makes it easy to fling open to write something important down, like, say, ‘Spa for massage on the 12 at 11 am’. Louis Vuitton Damier Canvas Berkeley

The Speedy is undoubtedly the quintessential Louis Vuitton bag. I doubt that many LV lovers never owned one to begin their obsession with the fine brand. One downside of it to many is that is lacks structure. No matter how much you load in the Speedy, it sags to the ground, unwilling to hold its fine form. To friends of the Speedy, there is now a slightly flashier sibling called the Louis Vuitton Damier Berkeley. Its name is derived from a chic London neighborhood, the Berkeley Square. The materials are common to other Damier canvas bags, smooth leather trim, a red micro suede lining and a golden “Louis Vuitton Inventeur” plaque on the front complete the picture. Its handles are adjustable in length, two side outside pockets offer additional storage room for cellphone or keys. With 12.4″ in width, it is only .4 inches wider than the Speedy and .7 inches taller. Granted, at $1,420 it is twice as expensive as the Damier Speedy, I still think that this bag will capture a large following among LV enthusiasts. Available in Damier or Damier Azure.
