The Alma is one of my favorite bags from Louis Vuitton. The shape is as distinctive as they come in the handbag world. It is a true handheld bag which is perfect for the working woman or the trendy gal. Per usual, the Alma has been recreated in every rendition possible, from tacky to stunning. While the Vernis line has not been a line from LV that I covet, it is a coveted line.
Just in for spring is a wide variety of eye-catching Louis Vuitton Vernis Alma colors, including Blue Galactic, Orange Sunset, Green Tonic, Violette, Pomme d Amour, and Amarante. The names of the colors are completely intriguing. In fact, they describe these bold colors beautifully. The Vernis is known for its liquid-like appearance, the embossed patent leather. There is shiny golden brass hardware to accent the bag along with a removable leather key bell and padlock keys. The Alma closes with double zips at the top. The interior is usable and the Alma keeps its shape beautifully, which makes it a great structured handbag choice. Dimensions are 15.2″x 11.2″x 7.3″. Of course there are other Alma options if the Vernis does not float your boat (as it does not for me). I would go with the classic Epi leather. Very interesting colors. Personally I found the Alma too big perhaps becuase it is structure.
I am not a fan of any bag that I can’t throw over my shoulder, but the Vernis line is beautiful. It’s very easy to deal with if you aren’t OCD about fingerprints!
I love the alma’s shape, but i think it would annoy me eventually that you can only carry it in your hand. Does anyone know if you can carry it in the nook of your elbow (am i making sense here?).
My favorite version is definitely in the cuir nomade (see this link http://www.gizmodiva.com/entry_images/0906/06/louis_vuitton.jpg ), but i think it’s possibly the most fragile leather louis vuitton offers. So i guess the alma will remain a beautiful and impractical dream for me

I was so tempted to buy the red vernis. But I’m really concerned with how will it look a week later. I don’t give royal treatment to my purses, and I’m afraid those shiny surfaces can easily get scratches all over
I have to add that Alma comes in MM size at Vernis, so it is not completely comparable to the Monogram, Damier or Epi Alma. But I still agree with the review on being a perfect bag for a career gal, as the size is great for A4s and the offer of colours will make any pantsuit pop. I’m drooling over the new neon colours…

i love vernis but not alma.. cuz i am not a big fan of purse that i can carry it with my hands.. i love the vernis brentwood in amarante.. am thinking about getting it one of these days.. but afraid with the shinny surface it will get scratch easily?

The pink alma is awesome. It’s sold out online now. I bought one and it’s stunning. Don’t worry about finger prints/scratches. I have a vernis wallet in dark color and it has no scratches and finger prints you don’t really see/notice. I heard the lighter colors in the vernis are more likely to get/show scratches but my friend has a WHITE vernis bag and she’s had it for like over a year and it looks great!
LV is very very durable. Just buy one and enjoy the hell out of it! PINK PINK PINK!!

I love LV so much, but vernis alma should have medium size like the monogram & damier, so that we can easy to carry for any occassion. They have very good color collection, but i hope you can have other sizes available.

So Louis Vutton has this purse available in 5 colors online, and only two shown here are actually available. So are the rest knock offs or can they be purchased in the store?
I have this bag and I am mad for it. I was in Manhattan in May at the Sephora Store and this bag was stared at and almost got me molested by a sales girl who actually walked up and said “Can I touch it??” I’ve carried it to business meetings as well as fashion shows, dinner dates and clubs. It’s a head turner where ever you take it.
