Louis Vuitton Monogram Roses Speedy

January 29th, 2009 / Posted in Limited Editions, Louis Vuitton by Megs Mahoney Dusil.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Roses Speedy The Stephen Sprouse Tribute Collection at Louis Vuitton continues to trickle into eLuxury. First only accessories were showing, now if you act quickly, you can have a piece of the Monogram Roses collection. The Speedy, Neverfull, and Pochette are available now, all showcasing the fluorescent rose pattern which is screen printed onto the canvas through 15 frames, perfectly re-creating the essence of Sprouse’s style of brush painting. I opted out of the Speedy, since I got the Watercolor Speedy last may. But I will be owning one piece from the Roses collection, one piece from the Graffiti collection, and we bought the awesome Book! Buy this and other Sprouse piece through eLuxury. Roses Speedy $1,310.

Make sure to read up on how to win your very own Louis Vuitton: The Stephen Sprouse Book!

Hmmmm….I like the Grafitti soooo much better. But I am a brown and pink girl. Everyone says that Sprouse is very tacky….You want tacky, look at the cammo LV stuff. That was a moment where LV should have taken a seat and just passed an idea by.

At least this is an artist tribute!

I don’t like the Grafitti and Roses styles at all. I agree about the camo stuff. I guess I am more traditional when it comes to the monogram canvas. I like it unencumbered. The only Sprouse bag I love is the Leopard Stephen.

Actually, this is spectacular in person. I really HATED the Roses from the pictures, but saw it in stores and really loved it. It is STUNNING IRL, the pictures do not do it justice at all.

Don’t worry if it is out of stock now. they always have shipments coming in. I don’t think this Sprouse tribute is as “limited edition” as they are marketing it to be.

I ordered my Graffiti Roses when it first appeared on eLux on Jan 13. it “sold out” in minutes. A few days later, it appeared for a few hours. I called eLux on Sunday Jan 25 and they had 41 new bags coming in. So really, they always have the bags in stock. This stuff is not really going to sell out, just another LV “scam”.

And yes, they look okay-to-nice in the pictures, but the roses are absolutely stunning in real life. Only one word can describe the colours: VIBRANT. I’ve been carrying it a for a few days and have been stopped a few times with admiring looks, even from guys.

Graffiti collection is not for everyone — you will get attention. But the Monogramoflage is for no one — ugly is a mild word for it.

i’m not loving this collection….it reminds me of the time LV put cherries on the canvas bags years ago. To me it seems like the same concept, use of same color but different design.

Let me ammend the original thought by saying that if you’re going to take a classic like the Monogram, I like the Graffiti better because at least they’re marketing by throwing Louis’ name all over it!

I had the same sacreligious feeling about the weird Murakami with the DayGlo, Prozac Smiley Guy. If you love the brand so much, why cover the name?

Sorry ladies, I would have voted for keeping the roses in the garden….

va_couturegirl: i know what you mean. if one likes the monogram, then buy the classic speedy $700, cos all the murakami, sprouse collections are covering the name. the reason i bought the graffiti roses is because i hate monogram, and i’m so glad the roses do not compete with the monogram — the day-glo colours really stand out more and they dual inked the monogram to fade into the backgound — lovesit.

I haven’t seen it in person, but I am totally a classic bag girl. I don’t like things that will “date” when I purchased the bag! I don’t want to be carrying this bag in 3 years and have people remember it from 09.. but that’s just me!

I saw this collection at Bal Harbour the weekend it launched and its stunning in person, the colors are so vibrant! I personally will be purchasing from the graffiti line, while I agree with luvhautecouture on “dated” items I kind of look at this one as an art piece (might be a bit of a stretch), tribute to an amazing designer and artist. I already bought the book!

Hmmm, luvie…..never thought about the dating issue…..I usually buy things thinking about having them forever. I can’t imagine a bag that will go by way of parachute pants and side ponytails:(

I like it. I think it’s a nice aternative to the mono speedy. I would def rock it in the spring/ summer time. I normally use my azur speedy 30 but with this I would give me more options. This bag is cool but I can’t help to like the graffiti a lil better.

I bought the neverfull roses and I don’t care what anyone thinks, I love it! As far as it not being “cool” in 2 years, it is Louis! It is is always “cool”! Besides, the print is roses, which are classic. I don’t think this will ever go out of style. At first I did not like the graffiti bags, but they are slowly growing on me. I think a lot of people don’t like to see the vuitton bags being “edgy” or whatnot, but anyone familiar with Marc Jacob’s clothing lines knows that they are trendy and quiet edgy. I did want a plain neverfull before these came out, but now they just seem boring and lackluster compared to the rose bag.

Recently bought the Speedy with rose print, it kinda glows especially when it’s dark. Very punk 80’s but still classy… I Love It!

Alexandra, I have the roses speedy and love it. It does seem to be more fragile then the traditional, the leather doesn’t seem to be as thick I could say. I don’t know why though.

I think the bag is beautiful but if you are a more traditional girl stick to the classic bags. For girls like me who like things that stand out in a crowd this is the bag for you. I didn’t think I would like the graffiti as much but after I now have my pink one I actually love it. It’s really cute with the graffiti bag charm. I love the charms!

Hey ladies, I just got my Roses Neverfull in today.. And it was my first Louis Vuitton purchase! i thought it was so cute .. but i am dissapointed, because it is flimsy.. i assumed it would be thicker leather.. Not sure whats up with that .. it’s still really cute .. i bought the graffiti charm to hang on it also.. But i just wish it was more sturdy since i have $1700 invested , i expected a sturdy bag
