Louis Vuitton Monogram Panda Bags
As we reported over a month ago, Takashi Murakami brought his exuberant art to Louis Vuitton with the release of their limited Monogram Panda series. Availability for the US had been very limited thus far, but finally you can get your hands on one of those rather extravagant LV creations. For $585, you can grab the LV Monogram Panda Trotteur, for example (left). The bag features the Monogram Panda canvas with natural cowhide trim and golden metal hardware, and an adjustable leather shoulder/cross-body strap. The leather corners and bottom are reinforced for long life span. A smaller version of the Panda’ized classic Monogram is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Panda Pochette Accessoires for $345 (link). Featuring the same materials, this pochette sports a removable leather strap with 5″ drop which can be linked to the D-ring found in many Louis Vuitton accessories. Both available now through eLuxury.com.

I think they will be popular because they are entry level Louis. Most people can’t afford $1000 for a handbag so they will settle for a tacky thing at $350.

What happened to the class and elegance that LV is famous for? It looks like a 4-yr-old got to it and stuck some childish stickers on to what was once a lovely LV bag.

hello? marc jacobs is a fashion god and his idea to revamp the played out monogram bag was genius. He markets not only to the asian crowd who love their louis’ but he collaborated with a famous japanese artist to create an original bag. Had Murakami not created the works he did, Louis vuitton would still be stuck as a symbol for the old lady/classic generation instead being clad on young hip celebrities. Although i’m not a fan of the monogram mulitcolore it is undeniable that it brought a whole new crowd into needing louis vuitton. it was a smart move for the brand to recruit murakami into creating a new image.

my bf got it for me when it first came out. Not many people will have this bag and that’s what i like about it. And why would you be carrying this bag if you’re 30 and up, but it sure is trendy and classy for younger ladies.

Funny how one person says this purse is ugly & sucks & the rest all follow! What silly mindless sheep you are… I personally think the LV panda created by Murakami is just as cute as the limited edition cherry blossom collection. Very anime & unique. I give LV credit for branching out a little of their classic style.

I hope to see more Panda-imprinted Vuitton bags in future. This is definitely one of the most exciting lines ever introduced by LV. I don’t mind spending 1000 USD on those panda bags. They are the cutest things ever and I hail Murakami for his fine contribution in fashion.

To all of you people who are talking trash, you wouldn’t know fashion if it hit you in the face! Marc Jacobs was a blessing to Louis Vuitton, he’s added so many new and beautiful lines to the Louis Vuitton name, and the Murakami collection was one of the best ones! His continuing collaborations with Takashi Murakami continue to produce the beauty and style that Louis Vuitton is known for. You people need to get used to Marc Jacobs, Murakami, and need to get the bank account to afford one.

I am proud to be an owner of the LV Monogram Panda Pochette. I bought it two yrs ago in the Mamounia hotel in Morocco. I didn’t know it is a limited edition piece. That’s why it is so special to me. I can understand the women who don’t like the Panda, but when you actually own the bag, you’ll LOVE it!!!!

I got this for Christmas and I love it! It’s something not very many people will have in the US, and I love that! Also, I can understand those of you who are so stuck on LV being a ‘classy’ bag, but that doesn’t mean it has to be the CLASSIC bag. I would not reccomend it for a lady over 30, but for someone younger it’s perfect.

This is really stupid. Anime is one of the most childish things there are. It’s even far more stupid to think that these are “classy”. It’s like getting an scalade and pimp it, it’s tacky.

Well, honestly, I’ve never actually been attracted to many designer purses/bags. My best friend had gotten me into checking them out, but really I just bought vintage items rather than buying designer, though I’ve always been able to afford a lot of LV items.

Being a teenager, and a hippy, I had typed in Panda on eBay to see what kinds of accessories I could find. Well, I had seen the Pochette being sold for something around $500 as a starting bid. I asked my friend to look up the bag on the actual LV site, this is where I found this webpage.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, thinking that the bag is ugly or attractive, but I don’t see the point in saying, “ZOMG ITS SOOOO OOOOGLY.” People claim the design to be class-less and childish, yet they’re acting like children themselves, throwing a fit over a design on a bag? If you don’t like the bag you don’t have to buy it, simple as that. I myself am getting the bag, so yeah, get over it.

Anyway, the bag is made for a younger crowd, since a lot of teenagers, whether it’s their own money or their parents, as well as twenty-year-olds can afford it. The bags aren’t limited to old grandmother’s and snobby people. Honestly, this is the only designer bag I’m probably going to carry, just because it’s so cute. I love pandas, anime or not, and for the simple fact that designs aren’t limited to older men/women, and that the designer sells all around the world, the panda was a wonderful idea.

As for those of you who don’t like it, don’t look it up. It would be a lot more mature of you to express your opinions without acting like giant infants. Bags are bags, it’s not the end of the world if someone makes something that you don’t like. There are a lot of designers out there and a lot of designs. It’s not like your negative opinion can change the way they think.

My opinion: Great job!! I love it. Buying one with my next paycheck. ;D
