Angelina Jolie in Louis Vuitton’s Core Values Campaign. Click to enlarge.

The latest installment of Louis Vuitton’s Core Values Campaign features actress and UN Goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie.

Angelina agreed to be captured by famous photographer Annie Leibowitz for the campaign in Cambodia, a country which she first visited in 2000 for her role as Lara Croft and later returned on humanitarian missions, raising awareness of the dangers of landmines. She subsequently adopted her first child, Maddox, from a Cambodia orphanage.

The striking capture shows Jolie sitting in a traditional wooden boat in the province of Siem Reap, alongside her vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Alto Holdall, a bag she has owned for many years.

I love the simplicity and calm nature of the photograph, the setting was well chosen to depict the travel theme of LV’s Core Values campaign. PurseBlog applauds beautiful Angelina for donating her fee for this campaign entirely to charity!

    • miren

nice!!!! =) would be great if you can feature the new print of LV empreinte

  • rose60610

    I love it, too.

  • danieli

I love her beauty, it is exquisite, and I want a Cabas Alto! forget a Neverfull!

  • Liz

It’s true that she has done many good in terms of humanitarian efforts. However, she has also wrecked a happy married family. Is she truly the apt spokesperson for a “core values” campaign?

    • michelle

Are you serious? HOw do you know the marriage wasn’t already broken? Why is it her fault? This article is bringing attention to an issue and here you are talking about things that does not concern any of us.

    • vc

shut up liz..keep yur own shit to urself..jen is into different dick anyway..

    • Stacy

I agree, but remember it takes two to wreck a happy marriage.

  • Julianna

Please, Liz. Just stop. Don’t even go there. You do not know what happened in that relationship. And since you don’t know have the decency to refrain from accusing people of things.

It’s a very alluring ad. She is really a stunning person inside and out. The ad speaks to LV’s long history of travel and exploration. Of course it is geared toward those with money but they are usually the ones who chart the path to the newest places.

It’s nice to see Cambodia being treated as a desirable location for tourism and investment. Cambodia has been through hell and its people deserve a chance to shine and prosper.

Good lord, I sound like a Hallmark card.

    • Ashleyg

Cooooo-sigggggnnnnnn! She’s no different than anyone else- people just THINK they know her personal business. Even so, Angie’s KNOWN contributions far outweigh her ASSUMED indiscretions.

      • annika

amen! no matter how they put her down….ANGelina JOLIE is Angelina Jolie. Nuff said!

        This is just gorgeous!

    • Seejayluvsbags

      Well said.

      • lulugurl2006

        agreed. its a beautiful photo!

    • Jenny

      well said, Julianna.

  • Mochababe73

I like the ad, but I agree somewhat with Liz. America still holds the core value of marriage and fidelity. She and Brad are not married. And, Angelina was the “other” woman.
Now, I’m off of my soapbox. I like that they used a bag that she’s had for years instead of a new one. It’s very Angelina.

    • Kat

Brad and Angelina have publicly stated that they will only marry when everyone who wants to can, in support of marriage equality. So actually, the fact that they are not married is their way of upholding the values of marriage.

      http://dontaskmetosmile.wordpress.com

      • mochababe73

I meant traditional marriage. Gay marriage is not a core value.

  • MizzJ

Love the shot. It totally reflects her personality and she looks so serene and beautiful here, not to mention not as skeletal as she has looked lately.

As for the other comments, while I feel more sympathy for Jen, we should just give a rest eh? What about blaming Brad too?? You can’t be stolen away if you don’t let yourself be.

    http://highmaintenancewoman.blogspot.com

  • Seejayluvsbags

The asthetics is breathtaking, really. I love that bag & have so for some time as she’s photographed quite often in it. As a LV customer, I’ve never really appreciated the leather changing & kind of thought it looked dirty. But this photo displays the richness that clearly occurs over time & I suppose I had better begin using my bags more often to achieve that look. She looks beautiful as well.

  • Kat

I love the overall vibe of the picture, and the fact that she used her own bag, her own clothes.

It must be clarified, though. Official reports state that she donated “an undisclosed portion” of her fees, not all of it, to charity.

  • XXAL

love the ad & every aspect of it.

as for the topic discussed above, i agree with MizzJ.. i think Brad is the one to blame because it really doesn’t matter what had happened, what Angelina did or didn’t do.. she wasn’t the one with family responsibilities.. ultimately, Brad was the one who made the decision to leave his wife for her.. stupid men who cannot resist temptation. nonetheless, im still on Jenn’s side.

    • Fiona-Brazil

Excuse me, but I can’t resist to give you some update.Did you see these news?
“Despite calling Angelina Jolie “uncool” for moving in on her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston’s romance with Justin Theroux has ended his 14-year relationship with his live-in girlfriend Heidi Bivens — who moved out of their home last weekend, Page Six has exclusively learned.”
After all it could happen to anyone, we are just human…

      • IrishEnglish

Amen to that. And it wasn’t the first time for Jen either. Let’s stop pretending the personal lives of celebrities have anything to do with handbags, ok?

        The shot is amazing.

  • Fiona-Brazil

Stunning add!Angelina and Cambodja are the perfect combination!Love it…

  • HandmadeExceptionalist.blogspot.com

i LOVE the picture and i love that she is donation the money to charity!

I have to say Maddox has to be one of the luckiest adopted children in human history.

  • edoardo

Honestly I don’t appreciate a lot monogram prints, but this model is so so cool!

    http://fashiondoesntexist.blogspot.com/

  • Danyelle

Is Louis Vuitton’s core values being anorexic and a home wrecker? Those children over there are legitimately hungry? I find it kind of offensive…they are making life or death moves everyday and she is sporting a bag the $$ equivalent to a couple years earnings for them.

    • Kat

Ummm, I’m not sure if you’ve read properly, but she did donate a portion of her fee to charity, not to mention the millions of dollars of her own money she’s already donated to other causes, including to children in Cambodia.

If you’re going to call out people for sporting expensive bags that are worth some people’s salaries, then maybe the PURSE blog is the wrong place for you to be. Just sayin’.

  • Rashida

People on the outside looking in always have something to say, but we do not know what happens behind closed doors so I refuse to judge, they are happy, a family and for that I am glad… She is a beautiful woman and the ad is stunning… I’m not going to hate on her not at all…

  • Loly

love the ad! she has such a strong expression on her face, and seems so far away…
tanx purseblog, this will be my new wallpaper :D

  • Chris

This woman is so beautiful, it almost hurts. I love the ad, I love the fact that she shows one of her own bags. Angelina is fabulous.

  • Laura

The ad is beautiful and LV couldn’t have chosen a better person. I’m sorry people but Angelina is perfect for this ad. Come on, NOBODY is perfect, we all do mistakes and we shouldn’t punish her for her several indiscretions, she’s human after all. Think of all the many good things she has done.

  • Lanie

    Nice bag.

  • sol

    I hate the ad.
It has too much photoshop, her face doesnt look nice and she looks kinda gaunt…
    i think its really bad…

    • BertieorBirdie

Shiver me timbers, them’s some great infoamriton.

  • Laurie

I like the whimsical nature of the add. And I read she’s not wearing makeup in it, which I can actually believe and find refreshing. (Though the photoshop is apparent).

As for the rest of the discussion (and I say this knowing full well what actually did happen.)….”let he who is without sin, cast the first stone”.

  • baid

Love Julie and the lv alto bags

  • Di

OK, since this is a purse blog and I am new to this. Does anyone have an idea when the purse was stopped being made? I get so confused on the Alto, the Cabas Piano, how can you tell if it is one or the other? Is it based on the measurements? I too love the ad.

  • Somethingbags

I’ve never really liked AJ nor LV

  • Abbi

I heard Angelina Jolie was paid $10million by louis vuitton for this add for her wearing her own clothes and own bag! WOW! Not sure if its true or not and if you know if it is or is not let me know :D

Also whether you think she’s a home wrecker or or not is neither here nor there, seriously if i wanted random quotations about brad pitts continuously changing relationship status with AJ and JA I would go out and buy a gossip magazine -.-

  • tony

    I think so

  • Avalon Bleu

Because I despise AJ so much I find it hard to stomach anything she is associated with. Good thing LV never really did it for me anyway!

  • somethingbags

i get you, avalon bleu. same sentiments.

  • janice

the ad is great and angelina looks gorgeous even without make-up.

  • qudz

i love this ad! i love how its not super glammed, love the backdrop and i love that AJ used her own bag in the ad. and while im sure shes gorgeous even without makeup, i do think shes got a little something on lol.. even if its just gloss and mascara.

  • michelle

I find an ad for a very expensive bag being set in a very poor country a little off-putting. The picture is nice, I don’t care about her personal life, but it seems more like this is meant to be a humanitarian thing, being set in Cambodia, and with her well-known activism, and the ad just seems out of place.

  • Piper

Oh Wow, would you look at that, you really can’t please everyone….who knew lol.

i like the picture. very worldly. not sure about the bag though.

  • lea

Hi everyone! I was wondering if you knew if Louis Vuitton was bringing back this bag, since they did put it in a new ad. I would love to get one myself, but it is discontinued! :(

If they are bringing it back does anyone know prices?
    Thanks!

    • Lana

Yes… I just spoke to a LV associate at the LV store in Newport Beach and she informed me that they plan to bring back the Cabas Mezzo bag this fall… due to popularity of the ad!! It will retail for 1,400.00. I happen to have one from 2008…the last year it was made…it’s in great condition…I’m glad I was able to buy it for less!!

  • Jij

I’ve seen pictures of Angie with the smaller Cabas Mezzo, too. I had one and boy, it’s a heavy bag! For those hating on Angelina Jolie… maybe the reason she is doing all this good is because she’s embarrassed about what she has done and is redeeming herself. That way, Jennifer can’t say anything bad about her, because she’ll look hateful. I came from a divorced family, and so, yes, I hate all homewreckers and “other” women. It truly demonstrates bad character. However, the ad is absolutely beautiful!

    • kansashalo

Great post – we sometimes forget about redemption and forgiveness and how important it is to this world. I do think people can change so if this is her attempt (humanitarian efforts) then let it be.

      Gorgeous pic as usual Annie!

  • princess garnet

Love LV, but I don’t care for AJ. However the photograph is gorgeous!

  • ASma

    very nice…………………………………,i hope i can get one…….wawwwwwww

  • ASma

Waaaaaaaaaaaw so nice LV , i wish i get it soooooon……………

  • Rachel

Okay no matter what, lovers and/or haters- She will have doing double takes wherever you see her.

Now on to the leather goods! Between the luxe of nature and the hand bag, LOuis Vuitton did a really good job tailoring the ad to romanticize Cambodia. Not to mention, carrying out it’s own historic European flair of romantic and realist paintings. Some what homage to something out of 19th century French art?
The ad signifies a very leisurely travelers approach too. With the quite surroundings, yet bold and vast landscape, Ange sitting, looking inquisitively to her left observing the beauty of Cambodia.

Making it look so easy to in have a discontinued Louis Vuitton Alto bag!
That is why this ad works, ok!

Ok, I’m giving LV to much cred.

  • Jackie Ellis

Total oxymoron to be sporting a bag of this value in such a poverty stricken country! I don’t care if she donated her fee or not… still seems kinda wrong.

    • Jackie Ellis

PS. I love Angelina.. just saying the ad seems in bad taste, but she’s gorgeous!

  • Angelsroy33

I’m NOT an Angelina Jolie fan, but this ad is nice, it’s okay, and the only thing I’m really impressed with, is the fact that LV used an older bag, one that AJ actually owns, and it’s not a new one/style. That’s about it,….she doesn’t impress me tho with anything she does, or says, or even how she looks. How ’bout someone helping the kids HERE IN THE U.S. first. Sorry if this offends anyone, but help at home first, then go to other countries. Whatever. (Brad Pitt has been helping kids, adults, and neighborhoods, in New Orleans now for years, and I think he has the right idea.)

    • EG

Is the bag cabas mezzo or alto? Does LV still make Alto?
