Earlier this week, Vlad and I popped down to the West Village to preview the much-hyped Jimmy Choo x Rob Pruitt launch at the brand’s boutique. I knew of Rob Pruitt’s work, but seeing how it would translate onto bags and shoes had me wondering. Everything about the line is younger and fresh, with multitudes of colors and prints and patterns. The name Jimmy Choo holds high regard, but the brand wants to expand its reach and this will happen with collaborations like these. Rainbow colored accessories dotted the room along with animal prints with the overall resounding theme being Pandas. It sounds crazy, and it is, but many of the items pulled it off.
I adore the shoes and clutches; they have the right amount of playfulness with a Jimmy Choo touch. From ombre transitioning lace to a sprinkles clutch (that looks delicious in more ways than one), this collection is about having fun. The ultimate items from the collab focus on the panda theme, with an angel and devil crystal embellished panda clutch retailing for $15,000 each.
