Fashion is meant to be fun. Sometimes I notice others in the fashion world taking everything so seriously. That has never been my stance and I try to catch myself before I feel wound up over something that I have fallen in love with, mainly because of its playful nature. When it comes to accessories, my stance is even stronger.

Be daring, be bold, pick an accessory that is out of your comfort zone to give that perfect touch to your outfit. And this is where Thursday Friday comes in. The company was launched with the idea of bringing fashion to canvas bags. Their Together Bag is available in either a red, camel, or blue print of a Hermes Birkin on the canvas tote. Yes, A Hermes Birkin print.

Just like the Birkin once had a wait list, so does the Thursday Friday Together Bag. In fact, the company is taking orders for March shipment right now.

Many are embracing this bag with open arms as they are loving the concept. Do you love it too? Order via ThuFri.com.

ON DEVELOPING THE CONCEPT FOR THURSDAY FRIDAY
We (Roni and Olena) are both pretty obsessed with fashion as well as the ideas of luxury and iconography. We love beautiful, well-crafted objects and are disgusted by fashion abusers who buy luxury goods to flaunt brands. And we wanted to go into business together ever since we met in Stockholm.

We have similar idiosyncratic habits like particular driving shoes and a specific sunscreen obsession. When we noticed that we were both using canvas grocery totes for errands, we had to look at this habit a little further. We realized that we were using these shopping bags as proxy accessories — an extra bag to supplement our ‘real’ bags — and wanted to take them another step, to have the bag itself declare what’s going on. So we ended up with a surreal design that references luxury but is ultimately an anti-status status symbol.

wow..I love this concept! It’s great! I’m going to check out their website right now. (ipad)

  • PhotoGirl

I love it! I ordered the blue one and it is fantastic. I’m going back for the red.

  • SHERRY

    cute (ipad)

  • SHERRY

    interesting (ipad)

  • SHERRY

almost like the real one (ipad)

  • SHERRY

the more i look the more i want (ipad)

  • Sherriann

    Cool concept, cute bag (ipad)

  • Ellen

That really is a great concept. It is making a bold statement while still being functional. (ipad)

  • mango

    sorry, do not want. (ipad)

  • Katy

    Sooooo clever! (ipad)

  • Leah

Love this idea – Birkins for everyone! (ipad)

  • whit

does hermes get a percentage or is this the alter it ten percent and it doesn’t count or because its a print and not the actual bag it doesn’t count?

    j/w

  • Shana

    Adorable!!! (ipad)

  • Olivier

I like the idea a lot! And it’s a fun way to wear a Birkin! (ipad)

  • suz

Love this….a little bit of chic with a little bit of tongue-in-cheek….probably have to have one.

  • spanish moss

omg, this made me giggle out loud! very cool idea. first birkin i’ve ever wanted to own. (ipad)

  • Rachel

Much cheaper than a Birkin! (ipad)
    http://mycomfortinstyle.blogspot.com/

  • ALISON

Loving this bag – it’s quirky and cute and looks as if is the right size to hold my new ipad x

  • Lindsay

Ugly bag. Stupid concept. Total waste of $$. $35US is too much to spend on a painted canvas tote workers in sweatshops were probably paid $0.10 to make. No thank you.

  • Jenn

It reminds me of a lunch bag (ipad)

  • Jenn

i like the blue one (ipad)

  • AMN

I like it! Neat idea (ipad)

  • AMN

I want it in blue (ipad)

  • Stephanie

I’d want to carry this, but not sure if other people would get the reference. Most people wouldn’t recognize a birkin if it hit them on the head.

  • Justine

I REALLY LIKE THIS! THIS LOOKS LIKE FUN! (ipad)

  • Linda

Cute! I like this better than the real thing! (ipad)

  • qudz

    haha this is adorable! (ipad)

  • Jen

    I like it! (ipad)

  • ninjaninja

    Nay (ipad)

  • ninjaninja

I get it and it’s funny, but I would get it. (ipad)

  • swati

ummmm ….. the idea in theory seems fun, but seeing it, i wouldn’t carry it. Though i am curious, won’t there be some sort of a copyright issue here with hermes ? (ipad)

  • Vitta

Remember those T-shirts with a print of a young girl in a bikini? Imagine a huge, older lady wearing that together with this bag. Now, that would be funny.. or not… (ipad)

  • greenpixie

    This is so cute! (ipad)

  • FashionIsMyHobby

Love these! It would be so fun to give these to all my girlfriends who love fashion. (ipad)

  • susan

    I LOVE this….how cute (ipad)

  • cl

these are so fun!! thinking of joining that wait list to get one for school :) (ipad)

  • Mousse

don’t like but I would love an (ipad)

  • Marla

I thought the same thing (copyright/trademark) issue? So I asked my husband who actually is a trademark attorney and he said that it most DEFINITELY is a trademark infringement and potentially a copyright infringement. If you want one, buy one now because they may not be available too much longer (unless they’re authorized by Hermes for some reason)….I guess we’ll find out soon enough!

  • 19yearslater

These make me smile. I LOVE this concept, I would use the red one frequently. (ipad)

  • jen

so many other companies have done this already… (ipad)

  • OY

Love the eco-birkin idea, but not the one made by this company. I’ve been trying to get my hands on one made by Banana Taipei. Search for them on Facebook. It looks more like the real thing! (ipad)

  • Genius Loci

    This is just wrong….

  • Kat

Banane Taipei, a company from Taiwan makes an infinitely better version of this. They even have the sides of the canvas bag printed with the fron, sides of the Birkin. The straps are better, too, since they are rolled straps the same color as the Birkin. Check them out here (BTW, I’m not affiliated with them in any way):

    • Vitta

Indeed, very similar bags — even better in quality — have been around for over a year, in Asia. It is ironic that here on the Purse Blog we’re analyzing the copy of the popular Banana Taipei bag that was initially intended as a parody of designer knock-offs. If the creators of the Thursday Friday “… are disgusted by fashion abusers who buy luxury goods to flaunt brands”, why not to create something original, instead of copying the existing popular idea? (ipad)

  • sneezz

How much? I think this is the closest I’ll ever get to a Birkin since I returned my MK Hamilton satchel. (iPad)

  • Megan

me too, I’m surprised that legally they can do it.

  • sneezz

    I ordered a blue one! $35 each. Code vlove15 saves 15%. :) (iPad)

  • sneezz

Oooh I like the Banane Taipei one more..how do I get my paws on one? I live in the states. (iPad)

  • Tannie

it’s similar to the T.A.T.A bag. i prefer the T.A.T.A ones, but these are cute too :) (ipad)

  • OY

I just checked earlier this week. Banane Taipei is not accepting orders due to backlog and Chinese New Year. Was advised to check their Facebook status. (ipad)

    Interesting. . . (ipad)

  • Marion

I think it’s adorable. I probably wouldn’t go so far as wearing it outside myself but I adore it! (ipad)

  • Danae

    I think it’s a fun concept, I like it :) (ipad)

  • Tonya

I agree with Katt the ones made by Banane Taipei are better imo. I personally wouldn’t carry either one but they are cool to look @ and use for shopping bags…(ipad)

  • Tonya

lol @ Jelita, I think you have the right idea – I would love to see these in a market near me so cute! (ipad)

  • Melissa

I came across these a few weeks ago. I wish there was more color variety like the banana bags. I would love to have a suite of these for grocery shopping. (ipad)

  • JenG

I want one! This maybe the closest I ever get to owning a Berkin.

  • JenG

I forgot to put ipad again.(ipad)

  • Dawne

  • bjf

I think it is fun!!!! I have the real deal and would love to own one of these!!! Just think….you won’t care if you get stuck in the rain!!! :) I think I will order one!!!!!!!

  • Camila Delgado Vicentelli

That’s fun! They should make a grocery bag with the same idea… we would be taking care of the enviroment, having fun and fashionable at the same time! (ipad)

  • Angie

It seems fun… Will check out website. (iPad)

  • Sosti

Cute, my initial thought is that I want one, mainly for the price, but I don’t know that I will actually use it. (Ipad)

  • ninjaninja

    That was pretty cool (ipad)

  • ninjaninja

Reminds me of deconstructed plates on Top Chef (ipad)

  • Donna C.

I think it’s cute as beach bag (ipad)

  • Vitta

  • Nikita

I think it’s cute, I just wonder how intellectual property law factors into this? (ipad)

    • louch

Yes – this is what I was wondering as well. Do they have Hermes approval to use their image like this? I would have thought not. I wouldn’t use one – I take fashion too seriously :)

  • kemilia

Really clever and the closest I will ever get to owning a Birkin. (ipad)

  • coachwife6

Hmmmm @ Vita, I didn’t know Banana had been around for a while. I only heard about them this past summer (learn something new everyday) And I agree with the last part of your statement…(ipad)

  • 11

    Er, not a fan. (iPad)

  • Shytown

I ordered the blue one and plan to use it for the pool/beach. (ipad)

  • Sally W

I love this. It’s practical and fun. Great for the acoutrements that accompany being out with 2 little boys and a husband that always says ‘can you just put this in your bag’. And, though I am often predictable, this really wouldn’t push me too far out of my comfort zone – I truly would love one.

  • ninjaninja

    $35 is not bad (ipad)

  • ninjaninja

Better then the price of a real Birkin (ipad)

  • ninjaninja

Will they be coming out with other colors? (ipad)

  • ninjaninja

  • Cara

I love this bag… it will be a great gift. I am wondering how much shipping is though – it would not say without starting check out?!? (IPAD)

    • bjf

Shipping is 9.95 for 1 or 2 bags.

  • 1983.alegna

I’d love to have one (or two) as i’ve been using canvas bags long before they’re fashionable. It would be the closest thing to having a Birkin. (ipad)

  • Chic ‘n Cheap Living

I’ve seen this bag and appreciate the fun but probably wouldn’t use it (ipad)

  • Bir

Unless the true birkin of the same color is in it as a protector bag I think it’s tacky !!!!!!

  • brownie20

omg these are too cute. think i need one! (ipad)

  • Heidi

Not sure if I’m on the boat with this one… (ipad)

  • Andrea

Great idea, but shame about the colours. Would prefer it in pink or purple. (ipad)

  • edoardo

These kind of ideas are very nice nad funny but I htink they are a bit “shabby not so chic on a fashion look…They could destroy all the efforts made to have a glmaourous and cool look.

  • Joyce

These are kind of cute! (ipad)

  • Dominic

Fabulous, and durable. But i can’t help but compare it to another canvas bag that Forever XXI released a few years ago with a Chanel quilted flap bag on it. (ipad)

  • Barb

I love these! I just love the idea of putting my groceries in a Birkin. Or taking my lunch, books etc. I may have to order one. Appeals to my sense of humor and is so fashionable..(ipad)

  • Kathy

Love them. Cute, chic and wearable. I will definately buy one (ipad)

  • Pradameinhofgang

LOVE these – ordered the blue and camel immediately – sad that they are back ordered till March, so hopefully won’t run out again..
plan to use it on days when i want a bit of “fun” factor, and when its too risky to use my Birkin or Kellys IRL because of kids/rain…..

  • ali

I love trompe l’oeil. I think it’s a little uninspired, but I still like it. (ipad)

  • Tiffany

Oh this is awesomeee I would love one (ipad)

  • Elizabeth

    AMAZING. (ipad)

  • Annais Bags

They remind me of those rubber Birkins they made years ago – fashion is such fun – never enough bags – fakes, real, unique – what ever drives us is fab enough (ipad)

  • Maria

ack such a cute idea! hmm idk if i’d ever have the guts to carry this…(ipad)

  • Laura

I am dying over the blue one. I think I totally need to order this for a mid-January pick me up! (ipad)

I actually find it a little on the tacky side. (ipad)

  • Joseph

Has anyone ever purchased or heard of hauteexclusives.com which is a reseller of Hermes Bags.

I would like to purchase a bag from this store but my banker/accountant has demanded that I reassure them that this is indeed a ligit business since I am being asked to send monies to a person that I’ve never talked to in person.

Any feedback is more than truly appreciated.

    With thanks

  • Ella

I prefer the Banane Taipei bags. The handles seem more durable and comfortable than these, and are printed in the same color as the rest of the bag. Is Thursday Friday a copycat of Banane Taipei..?

    • Momo

Could it be a copy of copy infringement? hahahaha!!!

  • Louisa

    Too tacky for me (ipad)

  • Hikarupanda

I think these are cool and funny!! I think there’s a fine line between being tacky and funny. Fake bags that want you to believe it is the real thing is called tacky; bags that obviously not trying to trick you to think that it’s real, but rather kinda making fun of the real thing is called humorous! And in a clever way! I also prefer these over the Banane Taipai ones — the color choices are more basic (and thus classy: camel, blue and red) and the straps aren’t matchy matchy like the Banane Taipai ones (which IMO can be a bit too much and now makes the bag look tacky!).

  • Momo

Where’s GREEN? What happened to GOING GREEN?
Not sure if I’d carry one but it does look like fun! Would be easier if I had the “going green” excuse.

  • y
  • Momo

Not sure if I would have the guts to carry one either. But the banane taipei ones look better because of the matching handles

  • dogs

I don’t have a real birkin & the statement from these fake designers “anti-status status symbol” is a bit disturbing. Wealthy/Bag Lovers should be able to buy what they want. Maybe they are handbag obsessed & love the quality. If i had the $$$, I’d buy one too! Why not go make a copy of a copy of a rolex or pair of manolos?

  • Monique Keller

Coming soon. A Cease & Desist letter from Hermés Paris.

  • Elmas

Beware!! Company not kosher. I have neither received the bags, nor a refund. Contacted info and support several times and got wishy washy answers. They are still holding my funds they received under false pretenses.

    • Bex

Yes I am waiting for mine too what the heck!!!!!

  • Susan

You need to use a credit card when ordering – if you haven’t received the item in a reasonable time (2 months at most) go back to your credit card holder and file a dispute with them. You shouldn’t pay for an item you don’t receive. I have ordered one and hope that I receive it. Family Circle shows this bag in the May 2011 issue at $35 – must have gotten so many orders they raised the price??????

    • Syl

I ordered a bag in February and still have not received it! I’ve emailed the company a few times and they maintain the bag is still coming. Have you gotten yours?

  • MC

I order my bags in January and still have not received them. I’ve emailed the company and they don’t response to them anymore.

  • Chantal

Has anyone received their bag yet? I ordered one early March, am getting responses but they say it is coming… what to do? Do I cancel? Do I complain and to who?

  • Susan

Ordered bag April 4 and did not receive it. After being promised it would ship in 3 weeks, then another 3 weeks, etc. I finally got an email from them asking me if I wanted to wait or cancel the order. I told them I wanted to cancel (I knew if I did not cancel and didn’t receive the product, I needed to cancel within 2-3 months for my credit card company to help me stop payment to them). They told me they would send it to their accounting department and I would get a refund. That was June 4 and I still haven’t received the refund. I did call my credit card company and asked them to help me get my refund. My credit card company asked me if I got a cancellation number – I didn’t, so be sure you get one if you cancel your order. At least get a name, note the date and time, etc. Can’t believe an upstart company has this poor customer service – or are they really just scamming people? Anyone out there have any luck getting their order. Should have known better when they didn’t have a phone number for customer support!
