Not trivial information at all – this is big news and another reason why I’m gutted that Alinghi won the America’s Cup and not Team NZ! I am glad that Louis Vuitton has made their views clear in such a commercially powerful way, although am sad that the LV glamour will be missing from the next Cup…

Oh this is too bad! I had a bunch of guy friends who loved to sail and this was the one context in which I could mention LV and they wouldn’t automatically yawn.

Does anyone know what this will do to the now-annual offering of newly-styled LV Cup bag/luggage pieces? This year’s Vintage-V-emblazoned pieces were very attractive! So, nothing next year?
