Theory Park Sak Combo Hobo

One of the most exciting things is to see that a designer has begun to dabble in the handbag world. Ok, maybe it is not actually one of the most exciting things for everyone out there, but I sure get a kick out of it. Theory has recently begun to try their luck with handbags, after much success with their apparel. The Theory Park Sak Combo Hobo breaks into the fashion world with linen and leather. Simplicity and luxury is the name of this hobo. The cream linen is offset with black luxe leather trim and has a wrapped double shoulder strap. If you are in the search for a simple bag with lots of storage, Theory has geared this bag towards you. There is two side, one front, one back, and one inside zip pocket. Could you really ask for more when it comes to storage? I don’t think so. Lined in canvas and measuring 10½”H X 16½”L X 5½”W this hobo is available for pre-order via Saks for $495. What do you think about Theory’s introduction line to the world of handbags and purses? Personally, this simple bag is simply chic.

We obviously have quite different tastes – but that’s what makes the world go around!

This bag does very little for me, even though it is, loosely, a hobo shape (my favourite shape).

The hardwear looks cheap and the only thing good about the colour combination is that it’s not garish (LV, please take note!).

I’m all for simple luxury in a day bag, but this bag is not so much ‘simple’, as dull (in design, colour and materials) and as for luxury – it’s about as luxurious as a hair shirt.

If this bag could jump over fences, it would be great for insomniacs; it would send them to sleep!

I actually just bought the bag above, I got it today. I have it in white leather. I love the look of the bag in the leather as opposed to the canvas/leather combo. That being said, although I LOVE the bag, I think that the “cheap” hardware you mentioned above is brass and it makes green marks on the white leather, so not quite sure I will be keeping this bag. Does anyone else have this bag/issue?

    Hi Heather,

Only just saw your comment! I’m sure it looks better in all-leather; I’ve never been much of a fan of creasy linen.

If the hardwear is leaving green marks, doesn’t that mean that it is (at least partly) made of copper?

Unfortunately, I can’t imagine that there’s much you can do about the problem – apart from returning the bag, or exchanging it for a darker colour, of course. But someone else may have a suggestion.

    Good luck with your bag!!!

This needs a lot more than just a bi-color aspect; I think it needs to get back to the drawing board. (ipad)
