Hermy, the $550 Hermes plush horse

Many friends, friends of friends and other miscellaneous acquaintances are pregnant or have recently had babies – I’m just at that age. I’ve been getting baby shower invites left and right, and lucky for me, there is nothing I adore more than shopping for kiddos. Who doesn’t love pint-sized Burberry coats, Ralph Lauren polos, and Gucci leather booties?

I have always said that the Hermes Hermy Plush Horse is one of the best nursery gifts. Yes, it is absurdly expensive, I’ll grant you that. But for the mom who loves fashion, this Hermes design is the perfect addition to your little one’s new room.

Hermy is so on-brand for Hermes and also so adorable. The horse is structured so that it retains its equine shape, and it features orange ribbons, and Hermes signature, braided through its mane. The price is a staggering $550, so many people will think that this item doesn’t make sense. I get that, I do, you don’t want your baby to drool and spit up on a $550 stuffed animal. With logic in mind, it doesn’t make sense. But luxury doesn’t always make sense, and Hermes reeled me in long ago with its baby gifts (along with everything else in the brand’s stores). I may not be running out to buy Hermy right now, but someday I will. $550 via Hermes.
