Thomas Wylde Ibiza Suede Bag

Thomas Wylde Ibiza Suede BagVery rarely do I find myself speechless. Yet at this very moment, I do feel like I am bordering on the verge of speechless. For the life of me I cannot decide if this handbag is a complete disaster or a bit of handbag genius. (Make sure to click on the image to get an enlarged view.) At first glance I definitely found myself saying “oh no, no, no, NO!”. As I kept looking, I started wondering which celeb or socialite might actually be able to pull off this look. The Thomas Wylde Ibiza Suede Bag is without a doubt a handbag made for a very select group of people. Taupe suede, pewter hardware and obviously fringe and bead detailing galore makes this bag what it is – a lot to look at. In relation to all of the embellishments on the bag, it seems rather small (Width 7″; Height 9″; Depth 4″; Handle Drop 25″). Moreover, what would you wear this with? The only thing I could think of was a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt or blouse and sandals or cowboy boots? And wait just a second, take a look at the price tag! So back to my initial question is this a disaster or genius? Buy through Net-a-Porter for $2200.

Sorry, but this looks like one of those really cheap suede bags you’d find at an outpost while driving through New Mexico. Pretty, but not worth more than $50.

    IMHO.

I love TW, but this isn’t a hit for me.

Way too much going on. Love suede, love fringe, love hardware, love beading…just not ALL at once on ONE bag. Looks like it’s trying to justify the high price by throwing everything on it. Bad move!

It looks like something I carried during my hippie days in the 70’s!

    $2,200??? Not!

I don’t know whether to be scared, laugh or cry. This bag is confusing me and I may end up with a migraine after staring at it too long. FAIL.

Yuck it looks like it’s made out of like buffalo sinew. The silver is so tacky.

this bag is ball-sy. that’s all i’m going to say. and it’s only ball-sy because it’s from thomas wylde. else, it’s just another designer “knock-off” of a mexican tassle bag. i don’t care what people think about fringe and how much diana vreeland adored it. sometimes, a dead trend is best left that way.

Not feeling the love. There are too many cute fringe bags…that are less than $300.00 to pay for this!

The bag is cute, in and of itself. I could see myself wearing it with jeans to a party/club, or on a warm summer day with a white cotton dress. HOWEVER. $2,200????!!!! NOT. This looks like you bought it from a no name boho-hippie or western wear retailer on the web for under $200. Which is what I would do if I were absolutely lusting after it, which I’m not.
