Whew, what a slow weekend here at the Purse Blog. Between Vlad having to take a trip to the hospital and my killer chest cold, we have been a little behind. As much as you all may have missed us, I’m sure you also missed seeing some of the beautiful bags especially during the holiday season!). So we are back at it now! (Also, if you have emailed me please be patient, I am working with a new computer and I have a funny feeling I have lost quite a bit of e-mails out in the milky way of cyber space).
Marc Jacobs has made his way into many of our hearts from time to time. While many of you wonder if metallic is still in or not, I am going to go out on a limb and say- yup it sure is!! But like many on the forum have suggested, it is probably a safer style to stick with the more subtle metalics rather than the overly shiny. The Marc Jacobs Bauletto Satin Bag is designed from metallic olive satin with gold/bronze satin trim. The satin is a nice touch, although I believe it stains easily. The bag is nicely accented with brown leather trim and golden hardware. With some aspects of the bag I wonder if it would be considered a travel bag? There is a front ID holder, top woven handles, and a side zip pocket. The ID holder leads me to assume that this bag would be used as a carryon. Quite the chic carryon if you ask me. The bag sizes up at 11″H x 12 1/2″W x 8 1/2″D, which should fit nicely under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment (yes, I realize that I travel too much). This shiny satin bag is available through Bergdorf Goodman for $995.

This Friday is all about the black and white bags. Black and white seem to always be stylish. Anyone looking for a little black dress for New Years? I know I want a cute black dress to ring in 2006. How about a little white bag to tote around. The Marc Jacobs Perforated Flap Bag is from the Resort 2006 collection and intertwines the simplicity of white with edgy nickel hardware. Made from perforated, pebbled leather, I could see this bag completing your white look for spring or dressing up an outfit on many other occasions. I know I play this game a lot, but can’t you imagine yourself either dressing this bag up or dressing it down? I could easily see this bag going either way. One of the most alluring parts of this bag are the double chain shoulder straps with leather rings. Right away the straps draw you in for a little something different. The flap front with the signature turn-lock closure shows off a funky beat with nickel stud accents. On the inside, you will find suede lining with zipper pocket. The bag measures 81â„2″H X 13″L X 2″W. Now my only little problem comes in at the price. Why don’t we knock off that last 0? Please? Ok I’m going to go with that will never happen, but a girl can dream. If you are a lucky enough gal to afford this beauty (or if you are quite the man to buy your girl one), grab is via

Little to my mother’s knowledge, my dad actually likes modern art, modern homes, just mod style. Wow. Who would have thought that? Trust me, if you knew my dad, you wouldn’t. My mom on the other hand loves traditional comfort and coziness. For all the years they have been married, my mom just recently found out from my dad that all the while when she designed and decorated our homes, he actually liked something else. Wow, what a man. So when I spotted this bag I immediately began to wonder if my dad would like it, but my mom would not.
The Holiday’s call for their own bag. This is not a rule, but I’d sure love try make it one. This way, I would have a reason or excuse to buy a bag for this holiday season coming up. For some reason, this Marc Jacobs Collection Satin Mia screams out holiday cheer. I look at the bag, and I get happy- just thinking about all the mistletoe, snow, lights, gifts, parties, and New Years. This Mia bag is the bag I want under my arm this New Year’s. Anyone else get the feel I get too? Maybe it is just me, but even if this bag did not remind me of the holidays, I would still want it.
After the busy week of business, I have some time to get back to you all, and of course the bags! Miss me? Vlad kept you all up to date on some bags bits, and now I’d love to show off some beauties to you. Although I may be a little late on this beauty, I don’t want to leave it out. The Hogan Small Fringed Shopper has made quite a splash in the world of fashion. Usually I am not one to love fringed bags (remember that
