Dolce & Gabbana Eel & Python Handbag

Dolce and Gabbana Eel Python HandbagSo the trend in high end bags seems to be the use of various exotic skins. I really adore some and others not so much. Like I said before the whole croc/gator thing doesn’t really do it for me since I see them as predators. And as much as a real snake like a Python would scare me if I had to encounter one, the skin is absolutely gorgeous. But I am not sure I have heard of eel skin being used before. Actually when I think of eels I think of electric eels that are supposed to be ohh so bad, you know, like the ones that were in The Little Mermaid. But Dolce and Gabanna has decided both Eel and Python delicacies need to be made into one bag. This is where the Dolce & Gabbana Eel & Python Handheld Bag was born.

Dolce & Gabanna is known for their high end exotic beautiful creations. The exotic eel and python bag shows off the ingenuity and beauty of Dolce and Gabbana. The bag features a flap top with diary-lock closure, double shoulder straps, gold tone hardware, and of course signature print lining with an inside zipper pocket. Sizing up at 9″H X 13″L X 6″W, I could see the bag being used by an elite fashonista business woman. The bag is absolutely gorgeous, combining the simplicity of the brown style with the intricately delicate eel and python skin. It is one of a kind and the price reflects that: you can buy the bag at Saks for $2,150.

As I had mentioned a few weeks ago, we love to feature smaller handbag crafters and introduce them to our loyal readership base. Today, let us cover a special submission we received a little while ago. Judith Lieber from JAL Purses sent us an email, asking us to feature some of her very unique handcrafted purses before the official launch of her own site.
JAL Purses Logo
Judith started crocheting wired purses over 10 years ago. Primarily, she uses fine and pure silver wire or copper wire. Her works have been sold in upscale boutiques in NY, Philly, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Laguna Beach. In fact, Christina Applegate wore one of Judith’s creations in the club scene in the comedy The Sweetest Thing. She takes great pride in selecting the finest materials to create one-of-a-kind designs with detailed craftsmenship. All of the linings are double-faced and hand-stitched, while most of the purses are trimmed with stones and beads. The designs range from elegant to whimsical. The purses have a three-dimensional, tactile element that (unfortunately) does not really translate well in the pictures below. The fine handbags range from $185 to $300 in price. By the way, in order not to be mistaken with the famous handbag designer Judith Lieber, our Judith releases her creations under the label JAL Purses on her way to her own fame. Verdict: Amazing art work, very picturesque details and wide range of styles. These bags are the hit! Contact Judith, should you be interested in any of her fine creations.

Troy Smith Vintage Tie Handbag

Troy Smith Vintage Tie HandbagMany of us are women, correct? Most of us are attracted to men. ALL of us love handbags. Lets mix those two together and add a vintage flare. This is exactly what Troy Smith accomplished by his Handmade Vintage Tie Handbag. Both handmade and the REAL deal of one-of-a-kind bags, Troy Smith has implemented the use of hand selected vintage silk ties for this bag. I really think my dad is vintage by now (haha just kidding daddie!), but I am sure he would have some usable ties hidden in his closet. I’ll have to ask my mom because maybe I could then make my own bag. Anyhow, Smith accents the bag with gold metallic piping and metallic black and gold lace on the edge. Also this bag has one large invisible zipper opening which lined in black satin to add to the vintage divine feel. The triangular shoulder bag measures approximately 13″x11″x13″ and the shoulder strap is 14 inches in length. So like I said, if you enjoy vintage, enjoy a different look from everyone else, enjoy men and their ties, you surely will enjoy this Vintage Tie Handbag. Available through Virgin Threads for $220.

Luella Apple Gisele

Luella Patent Leather Apple Print Gisele BagMaybe I’m way off and you can laugh at me if I am, but winter reminds me of meat and potatoes and summer reminds me of fruit. It is just how the seasons work. Winter is sweaters and big clothing and summer is skirts and tanks. So to fit the idea of summer Luella Bartley has made the ultimate bag featuring none other than fruit. Apples can be made made so many different ways into a delectable treat, so why not stick them on a bag. It has happened! Louis did the cherries and now Luella is showing off green apples.

I am in total accord with Luella’s choice to do green apples. Sour and sweet is twice the treat (and I really think looks much better than red would). The Luella Patent Leather Apple Print Gisele Bag spotlights white and green apple print patent leather, silver hardware, white stitch detail, and intriguing detachable heart shaped leather charms. The bag also sports double handles, silver rings on front, and the signature straps threaded through silver buckles on the front. The inside is lined in a green and white candy stripe pattern with both pouch and zip fastening interior pockets. The bag’s size is approximately 40cm x 24cm x 15cm and is attainable through Net-A-Porter for $995.

Tod’s Crocodile Handbag

Tods Genuine Croc HandbagGrowing up in Florida I have seen my fare share of alligators. They even ate my next door neighbors dog, “Fluffy”. Kind of funny, not the death of a dog part, but the fact that a gator ate a dog named “Fluffy”. Anyhow, I never understood the big deal with gator or croc skin, only because whenever I saw a gator it was covered in algae and always so damned scary. But in the fashion world, croc and gator ski is a coveted good.

This is where Tod’s Genuine Crocodile Handbag makes it’s mark. Now there are some things I like about the bag, and some things that I do not like so much about the bag. First of all I love the shape. This bag is a functional satchel with inside zip closure. I also love the outside magnetic closure and the Tod’s logo on front. I bet you realize I am so skipping over the major part. But I just can not make myself like how it looks. It is true the bag is made of 100% genuine crocodile leather, but the look just isn’t me. What I can appreciate about it is the impeccable craftsmanship, but not the material so much itself. I enjoy croc skin on bags, but not the entire bag. Also too, I really believe I, Bloggin’ Queen Megs, could go to the outback,
wrestle and kill a croc, and make this bag for you for less than the *discounted* price of $2,999.99 from the original $8,500 at SmartBargains.

Jimmy Choo Fall Handbags

Jimmy Choo Fall Handbags
Jimmy Choo’s Fall 05 line brings us two gorgeous pewter leather bags that make our eyes want to munch them whole, as they are pure eye candy! The Jimmy Choo Grommet Hobo (left) is made fully of quality bronze pewter metallic leather and golden hardware. Floral cutouts and grommets adorne the canvas while the shoulder strap is inset with metal rings. The top is open and is covered with an extended tab with a logo keeper. Buckled straps around the sides and base of the hobo complete the chic hobo bag. The Italian made bag can be pre-ordered at Bergdorf Goodman for $1,350. Similarly, the Jimmy Choo Grommet Flap Bag comes with the same features, though features a closed top and appears to be slightly larger. The price is higher, too – for $1,900 you can call one of them your own. However, you will have to be patient, as they will start to ship towards the end of September of this year.

Good Morning Handbags

Good Morning Morning Handbags

I’ve fiddled around with our Babette a little, who happened to be covered by our bags at lower screen resolutions and didn’t get to expose herself properly in all her glamorous beauty! Hence, I’ve moved her to the top – she won’t mind I think. Another improvement to our Purse Blog is that from now on, we will feature smaller crafter shops who do fancy bags and custom works, especially emphasizing on goodies that our readers submit to us. I think it is time for the smaller companies to step up and make an appearance, and we will be more than willing to help them with it.

On of the fine submits included Lia Hood’s contributions on Good Morning, Morning. Granted, the store’s name is indeed an insider joke that nobody will ever get, but the offered handbags, bookbags, pouches and organizers are very unique and worthy mentioning. Every cute piece is handmade of recycled vintage household textiles, which does Mother Nature good, and your wallet as well. Head on over to Good Morning, Morning and see what Lia has to offer.

Fendi Handbags

Hate is such a strong word. So I am feeling the need to redeem myself. Don’t think I am being an Indian-giver, because I really do not like Fendi, logo print that is. So here comes my redemption. This way I can show you I do know fashion when I see it, and I can appreciate all kinds of bags and designers (but I really don’t have to like them all, now do I?) So I must move on to the apology, IF indeed I offended anyone by my strong words, and now I am moving onto some Fendi bags that *I LIKE*, and one, that I even love!

Fendi Python VanityFor starters, let me show you a simply divine bag. The Fendi Python Beaded Small Vanity Bag is gorgeous. So there Vlad!! Take that. Anyhow, this little number can be carried as a clutch or slung over the shoulder (there is a removable shoulder strap). Personally I love the idea of it being a clutch, but it is all up to you of course. The bag is zucca jacquard with pink python and red leather trim, gold leather piping, and pink and red beaded detail, which means there is a small amount of the Fendi logo print but it is barely noticeable unless you look really really closely. The focal point of the bag is the multicolor mirror detail on front with pink python trim and golden rivets. The bag sports a secure flap closure, which is not only in style but also easy to open and close and really hip for any bag. And here comes the part where I laugh out loud at myself. My parents told me that I have always been drawn to the most expensive items since I first started crawling, and I am doing it again. For a seriously large price of $1,860 at eLuxury, this Fendi bag that I do love is available. If I go so far as to buy it, chances are Vlad, too, may be a little more like I was as a wee little tyke and crawl out of the store. But then again, that would more because I made him broken than anything else. What can I say, I am an angel.

Fendi Small ClutchLet me now delve into the Fendi Small Metallic Pouch. Remember the song you sang when you used to sit on the red and blue line and have the buddy system and have nap time in school? Think way back to when, and start to hum along with, “Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the others gold.” (HAHA I know you just sang along with the actual tune, don’t even try to deny it). This flashy pouch is gleaming with metallic colors, flashing its trendy hardware, and showing off the spy handle. Made with gold and silver metallic zucca logo on light brown fabric, lime green satin lining, metallic gold suede trim, and making sure to include a detachable gold chain shoulder strap if you’d like to sling it over your shoulder, this bag is a true must have. Like I said earlier, the spy handle is what sets this bag up and over the top for me. For some reason my taste just keeps getting higher and higher. This one is pushing the deuce $$$ marking; available at Neiman Marcus for $1,195.

Fendi Mini Fringe BaguetteWant to see a unique and somewhat cheap Fendi bag that has no logo print? Take into account that it is all relative, but have I got the bag for you. This is a bit of a blast from the past, I do remember the hip fringing of shirts that was once in style as the 80’s ruled the world, but it is still stylishly unique if you are that type of person who can pull anything off. The Fendi Mini Fringe Baguette is adorned with rose suede calfskin fringe. The bag also features golden hardware, an adjustable shoulder strap (which is a major plus for all size women), and a top flap with snap tab and signature logo buckle of course. Sizing up at 5 1/2″H x 7 1/2″W x 1 1/2″D this Fendi non-signature style is available via Neiman Marcus for $795.

Lilly Pulitzer Reversible Bermuda Bag

Lilly Pulitzer Bermuda BagThe beach means summer. Crabs are found at the beach. So crabs mean summer. Right? Sometimes a not so big bag is just as fun and necessary for fun in the sun. Lilly has made what I find to be the perfect beach prep small bag, small as in it can fit a cell phone, lipstick, small wallet, and your car keys. The Lilly Pulitzer Reversible Bermuda Bag is not only bright but also fashionable small and cute. The crab embroidery enhances a cotton twill design, which is held together by a wide wooden handle. Really nifty extra is that the cover reverses to a solid color and buttons onto the lining for easy changing. Yes, that is nifty. I can see this little bag being worn with a summer skirt, a white tank, cute sandals and of course your summer shades. In order to get the most bang for your buck and the most use of the bag, why not consider buying a Lilly Pulitzer Reversible Bermuda Bag Cover in order to truly be able to turn this bag into many different looks. The bag and cover can be found at Nordstrom’s for $75 for the bag and $20 for a cover.

Luella Carmen Biker Bag

Luella Carmen Biker BagIf many of you women are like myself, you have always had that part of you that wants to be a baddass hot motorcycle chick. Maybe it is just me. But you know the Angelina Jolie type, the badass who “doesn’t care”, who is always seen as desirable and super-hot? They look like they have fun (although I am terrified of motorcycles so shhh!) And this all comes down to the Luella Carmen Biker Bag, which emulates a bad-ass stylin’ chick.

If you are new to MY WORLD of high end shoulder fashion, I will let you off the hook if you don’t understand all the razz and jazz behind Luella handbags, just this once. For the rest of you ladies, I know you know and understand all about Luella and her outstanding work. Right now I am in love with this Luella Carmen. It’s simple yet a rockin’ style. Made of lemon leather the Carmen bag with quilted panels sports a buckle on front with the signature silver stirrup on a press stud fastening flap, two signature silver hearts on decorative zips, and double leather and chain shoulder straps with dangling signature hearts. The inside is lined in a black, white, caramel and yellow canvas print and features a zip fastening interior pocket. The bag measures approximately 24cm x 14cm x 7cm. If you truly are ‘bad to the bone’ go on and splurge on this Luella Leather Carmen Biker Bag at Net-a-Porter for about $795.
