Being back in the good ol’ U.S. of A. bears a whole lotta advantages. In fact, there is more than I can possibly compile in a short amount of time, but one of them directly relates to our site. You see, it seems to me like the fashion goodies are more widely available here. I am not sure why that is, but all the Saks, Neimans, etc. make it easier for women to indulge themselves in designer goodies than anywhere in Europe. Don’t get me wrong, I know many all the glamorous accessories originate from overseas, but when it comes to availability, you are mostly limited to the few brand boutiques that are spanned across the continent.
Columbus-local Les Wexner’s very own Limited Brands store Henri Bendel represents NY glamour at its finest – we couldn’t resist to stroll into the store at Columbus’ Easton Mall a few days back. We discovered a whole range of exciting bags that I’ll be sharing with you throughout today. It’s Megs’ birthday (Happy Birthday, baby!) and while her mom took her to Bal Harbour (Miami) just half an hour ago, it’s my responsibility to keep the gears running here at the Purse Blog.
Firstly, I want to share an exciting line of handbags with you. Behind the somewhat odd name Bracher Emden lies a company which has got much publicity in the past two years. All of their uniquely shaped handbags are handmade and hence no bag that leaves the experieced crafter’s hands resembles another. Celebrities like Beyonce Knowles and Eva Longoria have been spotted wearing their creations, and more and more ladies are seen appreciating their fun bags. Above, I’ve included a few pictures of their shoulder bags – the shape is curvy and sexy alike. The two bags we spotted at Henri Bendel’s went for roughly $800, I suggest you check out more of Emden’s clutches and evening bags that you can custom order for your wearing pleasures.

When I saw these bags a few months ago in Harper’s Bazaar (or similar–I subscribe to them all), I thought the bags looked fantastically made. And they certainly are unique. However, I think I’m the only person who detests the look of those bags. They are the most horrendous things I’ve ever seen.

I’ve actually been admiring these bags for sometime – I think they’re gorgeous. The only color scheme I would be interested in is the blue/white. They also make smaller more rectangle shaped bags – I think those are handsome as well.

Okay y’all just cause a bag has an unconventional shape doesn’t mean you should throw it out of the running for your arm candy of the day.
If you want to keep buying the same bag over and over again, then good for you and your credit card company. For me, I hate owning accessories that are too similiar – and I would never have that problem with these bags.
I must be missing the point of these bags because they sure don’t do it for me.
I love these bags. They are gorgeous…simply marvelous. Too bad I can’t afford one.
These bags are too too busy, Zippys’ eyes crossed just looking at them! That said The Zipster does appreciate the hours of hand tooling and other special work which went into creating each one. Will I be seen wearing one? Absolutely not.
I actually own 2 of these bags (both were presents). In the beginning I was indeed very unsure what to think about them. Meanwhile I really love them, specially the little red one made uniquely for me. And all those envy looks & comments from other women speak for themselves…

i have a rectangular black one. It is soooo hot and i luv it. full of compliments!…but they are extremely expensive. Henri Bendels in New York is auctioning off several signature bags the week of October 19 through ebay with donations going to Breast Cancer research. I might get another one-who knows.
I think the bags are so beautiful and unique. Who wants a bag that everyone else has? I just ordered a lovely pink colored one and can’t wait to get it!
Don’t be dazzeled by the crystals and nice leather! The bags are badly made if you look closely, no bags exactly a like because it’s such a bodge job and they will eventually fall apart.
And you know this how ? These are actually very well made and will last forever. Just because you may not like how they look does not mean they are trash.
For someone to say that they cant appriciate this handbag you have to have a complex about yourself. This bag is a work of art each style is different because every woman is different. Each day you get dressed to go out that is a work of art your style expresses you as an individual, so if you want to keep carrying the same tired Coach or Dooney that everyone has go ahead but a real woman isn’t afriad to carry a uniqe handbag no matter what people think or the cost. Take it from someone who knows, the bags are a definate bodge job, and get send back all the time because they have broken. The designers cut corners and havent got a clue how to make handbags properly! This company will not be around for long!!!
OMG i absolutely love these bags. I love being different and standing out from the crowd.I really like the way that the shape is different and the style is different the only thing is that the price is a bit much but with a bit of saving personally I think that they are definately worth it. i just bought a bracheremden bag and its very pretty in real, very trendy too. The weird thing is that i found it cheaper in my country than the one online! What i like about bracheremden bags is its not that well spread between gurls, most of them didnt hear about this name but the bag is fabulous, i must be lucky to have one

Just bought my bracheremden bag last week and have had continuous complements…it’s unique, beautifully crafted and sits comfortably on my shoulder and am definately buying another very soon!
I fell in love with the Bracher Emden handbags at the beginning of last summer. I live a few blocks away from Bergdorf’s and randomly came across them on the second fl… a must have in my opinion. They are oddly shaped and all of my girlfriends think they are horrific -but the reason I love them is because you do not see them coming and going on the streets of NYC. They are unique and you will not look like a copy cat wearing them. The Chloe Paddington knock-offs are so good on Canal Street these days – you can barely tell the difference, unless you know the bag. I will not find the BE bag on Canal Street and that makes me happy.

I would strongly recommend this bag to any one who can afford it. It is really more beautiful in person that the pictures you see. I have had one for about 6 months now and I get at least 5 to 10 compliments on it everyday that I wear it. I am hoping to get another one very soon. It is definitely a “show stopper”. Bracher emden is one of the best designers. Although the price tag on the is expensive it is worth every penny. I own quite a few of there bags, and i can understnd the tru beauty of them. They are so unique and the swarovski touch finishes it off. AMAZING thats all i can say

I bought a couple directly from Bracher and Emden, the service although well meaning was a bit bumpy. Waited several days to be called back to order and them, stayed in for a further several days waiting for them to arrive – only to call and find out they had not even been sent yet. When they were sent the address was nearly completely wrong with no postcode. And the gold clutch bought from sale stock lost all its gold foil the first time I used it. It was cheap, but also unsaleable in my opinion. Shame really. I will buy from Selfridges next time to be safe. On the upside the sales lady at Selfridges also told me they rarely lose their gems, only very occasionally the larger swarovski, which is great news for heavily bejeweled items. They really are amazing design, so original – I now have 7 and I just love looking at them on a daily basis. Despite a few minor hiccups will be back for many more.
I have a very first Bracher Emden Bag – it is not shaped like those and it is about 6 years old!
I love it but I hardly use it and would love to sell it so I can get a bigger bag.

I got one of these frome a London Fashion Weekend this sunday….well a new one….lam beather, fully golden with crystals…. which will be seen in the shops soon or before christmas. I am so proud of myself….its supposed to retail at 730 pounds and since I was at the place about an hour before the whole event wound down…got it for 150!!!!

I am just waiting delivery of my 5th Bracher Emden bag, these bags are exquisite, I was totally hooked after I bought my first one about 3 years ago, who could fail to appreciate the workmanship that goes into these bags, they are worth every penny.
I have 2!, Both are beautifully made, and much admired! dress up a “quiet” outfit and you look a million dollars!
These bags are jewellery.
My small bag is cream, it fits my mobile phones in, and lippy, and a tissue, and that’s it, but it is an evening bag, and is an accessory, I adore it! Though maybe not too practical for carrying much stuff.
My black bag is a butter soft leather squashy shoulder bag, fit loads in, and is perfect with a LBD and killer heels.
