Despite the fact that we often talk about the most expensive accessories on the face of the planet, everyone on the PurseBlog team finds great pleasure in well-priced pieces as well. That's especially true around the holidays, when we want to spread as much cheer as we can to our friends and families. (And, ok, to ourselves. We like cheer too. We're not above admitting that.) Try as we might, we can't buy a Birkin for everybody.
What we can do, though, is find great gifts under $100 to give to our friends, family and coworkers. We've scoured the Internet and found a selection of the best gifts, from handbags to makeup sets, that seem a lot more expensive than they are. You don't have to have a huge budget to be a great gift-giver, and we've got ample evidence of that fact below.
IIIBeca by Joy Gryson Church Street Crossbody
$98 via Nordstrom
Naturally, we had to start with a handbag. IIIBeca bags, which are all leather, are some of the best deals on the handbag market today. The shape of this particular design is very functional, plus it comes in five different colors. On top of all that, 9% of the proceeds from IIIBeca bags go to charities like The 9/11 Memorial, Family Focus Adoption Services and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
The Fendi Baguette Book
$75 via Amazon.com
Ok, so we can't get you a real Fendi bag for less than $100, but we did find this lovely coffee table book, which documents the history of the world's first It Bag. Not only is it a beautiful tome, but this book is also a must-have decor piece for any committed handbag fanatic.
Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Eye Palette
$75 via Nordstrom
The holiday season is full to bursting with awesome, totally giftable (or hoardable, we won't judge) makeup and skincare sets. This one from Bobbi Brown is my absolute favorite - not only does it have enough stunning eyeshadow shades to fuel dozens of night-out looks, but it comes with something that few makeup palettes have - enough good brushes to make those looks happen.
Ciate Mini Mani Advent Set
$58 via Nordstrom
What'd we tell you about awesome cosmetic sets during the holidays? If you know someone who's into her nails, you can't go wrong with Ciate's set of 20 mini nail polishes and four mini caviar blends for taking her nails to a whole new dimension. (The third one, to be exact). That's a lot of options for about the cost of a set of glitter gradient gel nails at my local salon.
Kenneth Jay Lane Tassel Earrings
$54 via ShopBop
Baubles always make great, memorable gifts, but you don't have to give diamonds in order to excite someone with jewelry. These tassel earrings have a wonderful, old-world glamour vibe to them, and they make such a strong statement that all that's required to pull together an outfit around them is an open neckline.
BB Dakota Eddie Cardigan Sweater
$78 via ShopBop
Buying clothes for people is incredibly difficult, but I don't know anyone who wouldn't love to add a snuggly open cardigan to her wardrobe. This one is perfect for lounging, which is our favorite pastime.
Kiehl's Creme de Corps Collection
$64 via Nordstrom
When you combine the awesome gift sets of the holiday season with the need to hydrate skin against the harsh winter weather, the need for Kiehl's Creme de Corps has never been more obvious. Now's the time to try 'em all. Or, you know, let a friend try 'em all. I guess this is still a gift guide, after all.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Packables Backpack
$88 via ShopBop
Give the gift of stylish preparedness. We've all seen packable nylon totes, but this packable nylon backpack is way more functional for all of your surprise carrying needs. Plus, the lip print is adorable. (It also comes in a more neutral grey and ivory version, for the faint of heart.)
Marc by Marc Jacobs Zebra Keyfob
$68 via Net-a-Porter
Want to give a friend or coworker a token of your appreciation that she'll see every day and think of you? Jewelry varies depending on the outfit, but an adorable, intricate key fob will be used daily, no matter what.
