Check Out Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring 2015 Bags, Straight From the Runway

It’s truly been a joy to watch my friend Rebecca Minkoff grow over the years. From starting a line with only a few bag designs (like the famed Morning After) to expanding into a well-known brand whose wares include bags, clothing, shoes and jewelry, Rebecca Minkoff has changed before our eyes. Over the years, Minkoff’s runway show has always been incredibly fun, with live music and nods to Minkoff’s tech-savvy attendees and fans.

This year was no different; with an intimate-feeling venue, perfect mood lighting and the Brooklyn-based band Little Daylight performing, a breezy collection made its way down the runway. Rebecca Minkoff’s clothing has gotten stronger every season, and Spring 2015 contained soft neutrals, perfectly muted pastels and tassel-embellished bags.

And let’s talk about the bags, shall we? Tons of tassels and sprinkles of fringe adorned the vast majority of the season’s bags. It sounds like it could be a bit much, but it worked well, making it my favorite Rebecca Minkoff bag collection in several seasons. There was an elevated feel to the bags, with oversized handheld pouches and round shoulder bags as the standouds. Studs were also a focal point, but I found the manner in which they were applied to fit Rebecca Minkoff’s downtown-romantic vibe to a T. While Rebecca will always be a handbag girl to me, it’s clear her penchant for all things fashion has grown along with her business.
