That’s even more impressive when you consider that he’s only been including handbags as part of his line for a couple of seasons; where most designers might still be feeling around to find their accessories aesthetic, Jason Wu’s Spring 2012 handbags feel relaxed and confident.
The collection continues on the Fall 2011 python trend with slim clutches and ladylike day bags with chain straps in a relatively muted color scheme with the occasional dazzling glimpses of cobalt blue and lime green. These are bags that are part of an ensemble instead of taking over the entire thing, and with clothes as lovely as Mr. Wu’s, that’s exactly the role they should play.
