7 Looks I want to wear right now from BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall 2013

New York Fashion Week has officially begun, and I’ve already got quite a few shows under my belt. Some collections stand out to me, and we’ll be bringing you news from the tents throughout the week. I always look forward to the BCBGMAXAZRIA show in particular because I’m comfortable and familiar with the brand’s look, but Max and Lubov have a way of staying true to the brand while reinventing themselves every season.

BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall 2013 may be my favorite collection of theirs to date, mostly because I almost feel it was specially made for me. The inspiration came from the architecture of Istanbul paired with the boho style of the Gypsies of southern Europe, along with artwork of contemporary artist Phil Frost. The end result is an eclectic mix of wearable cool-girl clothes with Turkish touches, literally topped off by cashmere beanies on each model. From thigh-high leather boots to oversized jackets to shift dresses, the girl who loves to dress on-trend but stay comfortable was in mind when this collection was designed.

It was hard to narrow down because I want to wear over 90% of the collection, but here are 7 looks from the show I want to wear right now.

Indigo print dress and navy parka

I love the indigo-print patch silk dress, but more importantly, the navy quilted parka looks super chic and comfy. To give the outfit a little sass, show stopping black lizard thigh high boots and a charcoal beanie finished off the ensemble. This was the opening look, and from this moment on, I was hooked.

Silk burnout print dress with black parka

This might be my favorite look from the collection; it’s so wearable and so me that I want to reach into the screen and pull each piece out to wear now. The indigo silk burnout-print dress, paired with the black nylon parka, is perfect for everyday wear but the black stamped lizard thigh boot and navy cashmere beanie really amp up the look.

Combo silk crepe print dress and navy baseball jacket

This leather jacket is everything – sporty, but with feminine touches. Another black and navy combo print dress accents the look. The trend continues with thigh high boots and a cashmere beanie.

Cashmere cropped sweater with a combo fur vest

This look is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Channeling Rachel Zoe, a super long black/talc combo fur vest offsets a comfy-looking cashmere sweater atop a shift dress.

Port leather trapeze top and a-line skirt

Taking leather to the next level, this laser-cut top and skirt are super high-fashion, and I love the deep red/brown being paired with black boots and a great satchel.

Mocha cashmere sweater with olive leather cropped cape

I’m all about layering, BCBGMAXAZRIA shows you how to do it well. I don’t know that I could pull this off, but I desperately want to try. From the dress as the starting point, to the cashmere sweater, to the bra over-top, to the leather cropped cape, I am digging this ensemble.

Talc leather baseball jacket with satin back crepe shift dress

I love a winter white ensemble, and this one is right up my alley, with a luxe take on a baseball jacket and feminine silk shift dress. Furthermore, I adore the toffee stamped-lizard thigh boots and ivory cashmere beanie.
