From black-on-black exotic Birkins to Chanel bicycles, we have your first look at the Heritage Spring Luxury Auction

Editor’s note: This post got such an overwhelming response last week that we wanted to remind you guys that the auction is coming up soon!

We’ve been working closely with our friends at Heritage Auctions leading up to their much-anticipated Spring Luxury Auction. The entire PurseBlog team loves Heritage Auctions and we are very excited to be part of their amazing bi-annual major luxury auction.

Why am I using so many adjectives and superlatives, you ask? Because this event is going to be out-of-this-world good. From rare Hermes Birkin bags to a Chanel bicycle (yes, bicycle) to seriously chic travel gear, Heritage Luxury has rounded up the best of the best, the rarest of the rare, and brought them all together in one special place. This is a place I like to call Accessory Heaven, and it is where I want to spend all of my days and nights.

How do we get to this place? Delve right into the Heritage Spring Luxury Auction after the jump.

I like to start with two exceedingly rare items from Hermes: a Special Order Black Matte Alligator Birkin Bag with Limited Edition Black Hardware and a 30cm Gray Himalayan Crocodile Birkin Bag with Palladium Hardware. In the world of designer handbags and in the world of Hermes, these are Holy Grail bags. Truth be told, I got weak in the knees when I realized my ultimate dream of all dream bags was being auctioned. Those of you who read the site often know my style and that means you know my heart is beating faster just looking at the special order Black Matte Alligator Birkin. The cherry on top is the limited edition black hardware. This is THE bag I would absolutely adore having, and I know many of you will feel the same way. One lucky bidder will buy this bag, and I find myself already jealous of whomever it may be. The Himalayan Crocodile Birkin is a rare cult favorite as well, and while it is not the bag I would throw all of money at (again, gimme that black on black matte croc Birkin), it is stunning in its own right.

Last week, we broke the news that Kelly Rutherford would be auctioning her beautiful 35cm Hermes Birkin in cognac ostrich leather. If you want to bid on a classic color, classic design, celebrity-owned, TV-appeared bag, this is your baby.

As my eyes moved down the auction list, I couldn’t help but remember when I first saw the Chanel Bicycle. Extravagant? Yes. Crazy? Yes. But this piece is still all kinds of awesome. For the ultimate Chanel lover who has the perfect pristine roads to ride on, you could own one of only 50 made. I love the two quilted Classic Flap Bags repurposed as saddle bags and the jewelry roll behind the seat.

We’re big fans of Louis Vuitton around here, and one of the bags I have always had my eye on is the Classic Monogram Steamer. Louis Vuitton started off as a luggage company, and its travel gear remains highly sought-after. There are other Louis Vuitton pieces included, but this one is my favorite.

The allotment continues, including exotic Hermes followed by exotic Hermes, Judith Leiber, Prada, Balenciaga, Salvatore Ferragamo and many more. This is the shopping event of the season, and you don’t want to miss it. We hope you enjoy the extensive preview. And remember, if you are in the NYC area or can make it on April 26th, Vlad and I will be hosting a private preview and cocktail hour to show you the items in person – don’t miss it!

This is your chance to bid on gently used (some like new!), rare designer bags. What I am going to share is only scratching the surface of all Heritage has to offer. Speaking of which, if you want to inquire about any of the items and request the catalog, email [email protected] or visit ha.com.
