Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the US and the ceremonious eating of the turkey has become an unofficial start to the Christmas season (no matter what stores wanted us to believe by putting up their decorations weeks ago, I’m still going with Thanksgiving), now’s a great time to discuss holiday wardrobe. Red, green and metallics of almost any variety are usually what people tend to wear to holiday parties, and although it’s great to be festive, incorporating those colors too heavily makes you look like just another Christmas decoration. Do you want to look like someone mistakenly draped you in tinsel? No, you don’t.

My advice would be to dress how you would to a normal cocktail occasion but incorporate one accessory in a season-appropriate color, and if I had an unlimited budget, the Lanvin Jeweled Nyota Shoulder Bag would be my red bag of choice for this year’s party rounds and beyond.

Of all the rhinestoned, beaded, sequined or glittered bags I’ve ever seen, this Lanvin piece places easily among the most beautiful. Lots of sparkle in a small area can look very cheap or very old-fashioned if the work isn’t done just right, and the subtle variations in size and color of the red stones covering the exterior of this bag strike the perfect notes of modernity and luxury.

This clutch isn’t too perfect – the embellishment isn’t exactingly even on all sides, the bag isn’t completely covered in rhinestones and the black backdrop and gold closure and chain provide plenty of color contrast. But it’s the imperfections that not only make the bag great, but also make it far more interesting than anything your friends will be carrying. Buy through Barneys for $2890.

As someone who works with crystals on a daily basis, I would say the $2890 price tag is so not worth it for the actual placement of the crystals. It looks rather messy. Although, I will say the color chosen is very vibrant and completely holiday-appropriate.

It is a nice bag, but the crystals look awkward being on only part of the bag like that. Just doesn’t quite look right.

i LVOE THE IDEA AND THE SHAPE. BUT I BELIEVE THAT THE PRICE IS COMPLETELY CRAZY (WITH THIS PRICE YOU FIND SOME CROCODILE BAGS FROM NANCY GONZALEZ…) AND, ALSO, I ODN’T LIKE THE SATIN THAT COMES OUT FROM THE SIDES OF THE BAG…

It’s pretty, but I don’t think it stands out enough to be worth the price.

OK the price is a little high, but wow.
I love the crystals and color choice. What a great holiday bag to really get everyone noticing your outfit. Little black dress, Blk patent shoes with a simple necklace then this bag, Love it.
