The Coach Complete Look

If its Fall 2013 collection is any indication, Coach would like you to reconsider your ideas of what kind of brand it is. That applies to everyone, both fans and skeptics, and Coach is prepared to back up that request with everything from brand new, totally chic handbags to lines of outerwear and leather apparel that are so sophisticated and luxurious-looking that they would be right at home on a front-row Fashion Week attendee. At this rate, that’s exactly where they’ll be.

The Borough Bags are just the start of Coach’s next era, which expands on the brand’s leather goods heritage into apparel categories that Coach is approaching anew. That’ll include things like handknit sweaters and butter-soft Spanish lambskin for cigarette pants and skirts, plus outerwear based on legendary American fashion pioneer Bonnie Cashin’s original designs for the brand. Even the Coach logo gets a new life in this New York-inspired collection, which is a feat unto itself when a company’s logo is so widely recognizable. It’s hardly the only impressive move in the collection, though, which extends to menswear and accessories as well. We’re just scratching the surface with some of our favorite urban-modern looks below; the Complete Coach Look can be found via Coach.

Uh ohhhh, Coach is stepping their game way up! Love that sweatshirt!

It’s beautiful, all of it, right?!

  • kindled

definitely an improved direction for coach! Although I wish sponsored posts like this were more clearly marked.

We always mark a post as sponsored and it will always be found at the bottom of the post. I can talk to Vlad about looking into some other ways to mark it :)

I think it’s subtle and easily missed, especially at the bottom. I think it ought to be somewhere where it is visible without clicking to “view all”–either in the title or immediately above/below the preview image.

        Thanks for the feedback!

  • Classic Chic

Happy to see Coach ‘grow’ up with this new collection! I may actually get some pieces this time, but hope they don’t trickle down to outlet few weeks later :p It’s the only thing that stops me from buying their pieces, they moved to outlet way too fast!

  • Aleesha

I want it all!! They have definitely elevated the brand this season.

Lovely items but please Coach is a entry level luxury brand and these prices do not reflect that. Items are just price to high. One can buy better brands for that price point that has more cache for the money. The problem with Coach is it does not know it place in the market. Is it affordable lux or not? To see a $1000 price item at coach is laughable as no one is buy it.

    • Atelieross.com

The prices of everything are aligned with a contemporary brand. If it was going for more premier luxury the sweater would cost 2500, the leather pants would range from 3000 to 5000 up, the outerwear would be 2500 up. This collection is very in line with jcrew, 3.1 phillip lim, Vince, helmut lang, ted baker, and other similar progressive lines.

I think this is an important observation – the outwear and leather may be a bit more expensive than what consumers are used to spending for Coach, but the brand appears to be delivering product in line with similar pieces that command those prices from other brands. The best way to change your position within a market is to make beautiful, sophisticated products that command higher prices because of their quality and style, and Coach is doing it well so far.

When someone says coach, u don’t think of it as a luxury. I think of it as starting up, or dare I say old time. I’m sorry the items are nice but I think they are worth the prices they are charging for it. I rather get it from Burberry or a brand to that level.

  • cremebrulee

Looks like Coach is finally trying to change their strategy by pricing the items in their new categories higher. The luxury goods sector isn’t favorable for their previous growth strategy of lower price and high penetration. I’m thinking it’s gonna work, but I personally will not pay $1.5K for a trench when I can get it from Burberry for the same price or less.

I am glad that you identified this as a sponsored post. Blogging is a business, and while you provide a great unbiased perspective most of the time, I understand you have to stay in business! It would be awesome if you could provide a list of your sponsors on your site, or acknowledge if a brand is a sponsor when you do a non-sponsored post for such a brand. Full disclosure always helps mitigate the possibility that other posts are influenced.

    • http://www.purseblog.com/ Megs Mahoney Dusil

Sponsored posts are always marked as sponsored. I’m not sure what you are asking about when it comes to non-sponsored posts for a brand? When we have banner ads, it does not coincide with posts and if it does we mark it as such :)
