Rauwolf’s Spring 2015 Clutches are Red Carpet-Ready

When Kristine Johannes debuted her clutch line, Rauwolf, in 2011, no one had any idea that it would become a mainstay on the world’s most prestigious red carpets in only a few short seasons. In that time, though, we’ve seen the line of ultra-modern plexi evening bags come to dominate events like the Emmys and Academy Awards, and when you look at our photos of Rauwolf’s upcoming Spring 2015 bags, the brand’s meteoric rise isn’t exactly a mystery.

For decades, the clutch market was overrun with traditional, often slightly stuffy takes on the same box clutches and minaudieres we’ve all seen a million times, but in the past few years, independent upstarts like Rauwolf and Edie Parker have upended the market. The two lines, both owned by New York-based female designers, use materials like acrylic and plexiglass, which feel innovative in the handbag market and allow for a huge array of colors, finishes, textures and patterns, all in a slick, evening-appropriate package.

We recently visited Rauwolf’s showroom to see the brand’s upcoming bags, and you can bet you’ll be seeing them again in the hands of movie stars. Check out our photos below or shop Rauwolf’s current offerings via Barneys.
