Upon first glance, this clutch resembles an clam on steroids, featuring a plethora of treasures and wilts in the skin. The ruched beaded detailing is a lot to handle, heightening your optical senses and making you wish to touch and feel the clutch. Yet, I am drawn to the Fendi Ruched Beaded Clutch because it offers a look that is hard to find and a look that can only be pulled off by a few. The material is metallic gold jersey, with beaded detailing, on a winged style. Luckily with it being a small handbag, the dimensions and metallics are more subdued and accepted. It is funky for sure, and not for everyone. I expect many to hate it and many to love it. Oddly enough, I find myself looking at it again and again, wondering the idea behind it, wondering if people would look at me oddly if I were to carry it or look at me thinking ‘you go girl’. Party clutches are a must. If you plan a night out with the girls, or better yet with the guys, plan on having a fabulous time. Wear something a little flashy, a little ‘look at me’. Go ahead and draw some attention to yourself. I am a huge fan of cheap fun clutches because if you take it to a bar, don’t worry about a party foul, or a spill, because you know this is just your go to fun clutch. The Scoop Mesh Clutches are perfect attention grabbers, available in either gunmetal or navy mesh clutch with a heart zipper fastening and a small inside pocket. You can wear these, set them on the bar (just don’t get it stolen), drop it on the floor, and it is bound to stay in place, not ruin the material, and just keep being a fun clutch. Best part is the price, super super super cheap! Buy the gunmetal silver at NAP for $49.50 and the Navy at NAP for $49.50.

There are those fools in life that are certain buying an expensive good means it is fashionable. Let me tell you (although as loyal Purse Blog readers you already know!) that is not true! Take this extremely fug bag for example; the Marc Jacobs Monica Mink Python Clutch attempts to combine exotic materials, mink and python, to make stylish handbag. But look for yourself, it is evident that this handbag is far from fabulous, it looks like a mess of a bag. Sure, mink feels like heaven, but in this handbag it looks like hell. The buckle detail adds a knap-sack feel, which is not the hi-ho silver look I am going for when dishing out $3k on ‘luxury’. And this clutch is large, measuring 13″W X 8½”H X 2″D, which means everyone will be able to see it and question your fashion sense. Totally a waste of $2950 at Saks.

Not everyone is a rocker chick, but after McQueen introduced his signature skulls, it seemed that rocking it out was all the rage. The rage rages on, and McQueen continues to use his signature skulls on many of his designs. The Alexander McQueen Skull Clasp Clutch adds a touch of skull, with a Swarovski crystal jeweled skull clasp, to an otherwise plain black or silver patent leather box clutch. On the inside, there is lush chocolate suede lining. The silver would be my choice, adding a touch of hip chic, to my outfit. Both available at Net A Porter for $1010 for silver and $995 for black.

Working with Python skin is not always easy, the scales can flake easily exposing the bare under color, which many times is black. Be careful with any exotic you own, especially python. Don’t throw the bag around, treat it gently, like you would any brand new handbag that you love and covet. Now, I am not saying it as fragile as brittle piece of glass, it surely holds its own, but that also depends on the designer. The design behind the Zagliani Metallic Python Clutch focuses on craftsmanship of the metallic silver python skin. The skin injected with silicone which helps it feel more luxurious and sturdier so that it is not as likely to contort. Yet the design still looks feminine and vintage inspired with the python feeling supple from the treatment. There is a soft pleat and a turn lock closure. The inside is lined in lush suede. 13″W X 6½”H X 4½”D. Because of the intricate detailing and treatment of the skin (injected by a dermatologist nonetheless!), the price is completely justifiable. Tis the season for glitz and glam and fabulous events and parties. It has already begun, the list of auctions to attend and Foundation Dinners and weddings are on their way. I absolutely love this time of year, where I can dress to the nines, not to mention it gives me an excuse for new outfits and handbags. The clutch is the most integral accessory when attending a fabulous event. It can add so much to an outfit with such a small piece. Fendi has not be garnering much positive attention recently, but their clutch sports a stunning elegant shape and the design is spot on. The Fendi Hologram Suede Clutch offers a glimmer with the silver suede and with the gold and diamante clasp. A fold over clutch is a simple idea, but if done right can be the most sophisticated piece. On the inside there is sultry burgundy lining. Simple, yet perfect. Available through Net A Porter for $730.

Being in South Florida means that the shopping is stellar. One of the best malls in the US, Bal Harbour, is just a 25 minute drive (of course a beautiful drive right along A1A, beach front avenue!). Vlad and I always make as many trips to Bal Harbour as possible each visit, visiting our favorites stores and boutiques. We always pop into Louis Vuitton first, where the service is impeccable and every SA is willing to help. What is the most interesting thing to watch are the people themselves; this is the place to see and be seen. What my mind can not grasp, is why many year 10 old girls going shopping with mommy have a nicer handbag than me. Ok, an exaggeration, but sometimes not. Here is why I love the Marc by Marc Jacobs, it can be a justifiable (to some but not all) tween purchase. Even better is the Miss Marc line, which is funky and casual. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Miss Marc Clutch is a crazy little number, with a zip around closure and a zipper pocket at the mouth of the graphic and at the main compartment. This is funky and fun, with a logo-lined interior. Dimensions are 5.5″H x 10″L, which is perfect for a tween, because really, what will they even have to put in their bag? Hell, it is even cute for a teen, but could be pushing it past that. Buy through Shop Bop for $78.
